Its such an interesting result because there are so many variables at the moment.
if Jordynne is NXT champion…her losing to Masha would be weird because she just won it the week before. But beating Masha would be weird because she put her over on the way out as the payoff to a long term storyline.
if Jacy is champion, she hasn’t held it long either…and was always going to be a transitional champion likely for Blake…which feels like it’s coming quickly anyway. But there is, I think, a way to use this to accelerate that feud. Like…Blake costs her the match (runs in to stop the rest of Fatal Influence and Jacy gets got in the commotion) and they do the feud and then Blake can focus on the belt afterwards without it being the literal first thing she did in the company…which can lead to some backlash.
But Jacy could also win…and I think that’s interesting in a different way. But it depends on the main event finish that night. If Trick is losing the belt…the pressure point for Santana or Hendry to win got a lot bigger. You just lost another title to NXT. You HAVE to bring it home. But if Trick is winning…you could find yourself in a bigger storyline where TNA, on their big anniversary show, is losing control of its legacy. Which would be the proverbial dark night of the soul before building to a heroic climax at BFG.
