“WWE are on fire now, but like I still as not only just as a viewer but as a wrestler, I just don’t enjoy it. I haven’t watched WrestleMania. What I’ve heard is it wasn’t the best Mania. Maybe like IYO, Rhea, and Bianca was the only sick match on there — which, the three of them are sick, three of the best wrestlers period. But for me, I just never was a WWE guy. I respect it and I respect the guys doing it. That schedule is like crazy, and I commend them all for doing it. I just didn’t like it. I don’t like the show, I don’t like the style of wrestling, I don’t like the presentation. It’s gotten better, I love the one-shots that they’ve been doing. But I’ve just — I’ve never been a big fan of it. So that’s why when like AEW came along and they went with more like the sports-based style of it, it was something that I could sink my teeth into.”
“Of course like I respect WWE. And I admire everyone there. A lot of people think I hate Triple H, and I really don’t. I’ve never met the guy before in my life. But for me, there’s always this little bit of rivalry where I’ll just be like, ‘Yeah, you guys are the biggest. Yeah, you guys are drawing the bigger houses. Yeah, you guys have got the bigger deals.’ But the moment the bell rings, I think we’re better than all of them. Like, I think honestly on my worst day, I’m better than a lot of the guys in-ring. In-ring. Promos, you guys have got a bunch of guys. Punk’s sick. Reigns is sick. There’s still things that I need to catch up on. But in-ring, I generally don’t think there’s anyone from that side that like matches any of our guys.”

Former WWE star Bishop Dyer (fka Baron Corbin) responded enthusiastically to Will Ospreay’s recent comments, making it clear he fully supports the AEW star’s perspective.

"I love the comments," Dyer said. "He backs up his comments. He's not burying anyone. He's not burying a company." He appreciated that Ospreay spoke openly without attacking others, including WWE’s top figures: "He even talks about Triple H. He doesn't know him, he's not taking shots at him, even though I think Triple H has taken a shot at him before."

He contrasted WWE’s current scheduling with AEW’s workload:

"AEW's pumping out more shows than WWE might at this time, with how many shows a week they're doing, because WWE's not doing live events anymore."

Backing Ospreay’ pride in AEW, Dyer said:

"So I'm behind what he said. It offends me zero. It shouldn't offend anyone." He applauded Ospreay’s passion and confidence, referencing his fiery promo: "He's taken pride in his place. He said it in his promo last night. Like, you know, 'This is where it's at.'" Dyer praised Ospreay’s boldness and leadership, adding: "And I think it's a great guy to have the flag and plant that flag in the center of the ring and say 'Come get it you sons of b*s.'"

When asked about WWE running Battleground the day of Double or Nothing

“We smoke them in every field of wrestling. Mate, we’re just better.”

“I respect them. I respect every single one of them there. They’re all vets, they all know what they’re doing, they’re great at their job, they understand getting people on their feet, but we are so much more of a better wrestling company than them.”

“Our guys smoke them every single day of the week. They’ve got good guys like Gunther, they’ve got great guys like Orton, they’ve got good guys like Chad Gable, I respect all of them but on our worst day, we smoke all of you guys.”

On who he wishes he'd faced in NJPW:

“Strangely, the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion right now, Goto, we never wrestled one another. Look, Forbidden Door’s coming up, so could be doing that.”

On Jerry Lynn's help:

“Backstage, I’ve been working a lot with Jerry Lynn. I’m fascinated (by) his knowledge and his tenure, and he’s really been helping me understand and break down a lot of things where I feel like I lacked and needed those fine-tuning pieces. Getting to work with the legend that is Jerry Lynn has been beautiful.”
