The federal judge overseeing the wrongful deportation case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia said she will order expedited discovery in order to "apply the law to the facts."

"The Supreme Court has spoken," U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis told the parties during a hearing in Maryland on Tuesday, five days after the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed her ruling that the government "facilitate" Abrego Garcia's return from an El Salvador prison.

"You made your jurisdictional arguments, you made your venue arguments," Judge Xinis told the Justice Department attorneys. "You made your arguments on the merits. You lost. This is now about the scope of the remedy."

The suspected arsonist who allegedly tried to kill Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro decided to firebomb his official residence because of "what he wants to do to the Palestinian people," according to a search warrant signed by Pennsylvania State Police.

Investigators obtained several warrants as part of the investigation into the early Sunday morning arson attack, including for suspect Cody Balmer’s storage unit, electronic devices and parents’ home, where he told a Dauphin County judge he had recently been living.

Balmer, 38, targeted Shapiro "based upon perceived injustices to the people of Palestine," one of the warrants said.

Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia ruled Wednesday that there is "probable cause" to find the Trump administration in criminal contempt of court for violating his order last month to immediately pause any deportations under the Alien Enemies Act.

President Trump on March 15 invoked the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to target members of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan prison gang that Trump says is invading the U.S.

The government sent several planeloads of alleged gang members to El Salvador immediately after invoking the act, including 137 people under the act, the White House said at the time.

The flights happened just after the American Civil Liberties Union and Democracy Forward sued the Trump administration over its use of the Alien Enemies Act. They said the administration removed people without due process.
