WWF Survivor Series 1987 - Andre the Giant, Butch Reed, King Kong Bundy, One Man Gang, & Rick Rude vs Bam Bam Bigelow, Don Muraco, Hulk Hogan, Ken Patera, & Paul Orndorff

Muraco and Rude start this one off. The face team exchanges some quick tags while isolating Rude for awhile. Literally everyone gets a shot at least on Rude before he finally ends up tagging Reed in. Face team still in control though, just on Reed this time. Hulk eliminates Reed pretty fast after a Leg Drop. Solid action so far. Hogan wants in against Andre, but the ref won't let him because he said he tagged Patera :lmao because Patera can't just tag Hogan back in. This crowd is hot as fuck as the face team has had control of this like 90% of the time so far. The heel team finally gets some semblance of control with Patera in their corner. The Gang ends up eliminating him with some clothesline thing. Bam Bam and Hogan hit a double big boot on The Gang and it was :mark: Hot tag to Orndorf and this crowd is still so loud. Rude eliminated Orndorf with a roll-up after some Bundy interference, shame because Orndorff was looking great tonight. Muraco eliminates Rude with a Powerslam, these guys are dropping like flies and Andre hasn't even been in yet. Muraco's out after taking a headbutt from Andre and then a 747 Splash from The Gang. Bundy just hit a fucking AWESOME clothesline on Bam Bam that made him do a 360 :mark: Fucking Bam Bam is LEGIT! Andre finally gets tagged in, and Bam Bam is able to get a tag to Hogan at the last second. This crowd is going fucking nuts now as they exchange strikes. Hogan fucking takes out the whole team by himself, but gets counted out while slamming The Gang and Bundy :lmao So now we just have Bam Bam against these three guys, so it's time for Bam Bam to OWN! Bam Bam eliminates Bundy with an AWESOME slingshot splash. One Man Gang then misses a splash from the top rope and Bam Bam eliminates him too :mark: Now it's just Bam Bam and Andre. Andre hits a meh double underhook suplex to end Bam Bam's amazing comeback :( This was more fun than I thought it'd be, although not a great match by any means. I thought it was booked fantastically event though some might think it odd that Hogan was eliminated second to last. It was better than the predictable Hogan overcoming the odds stuff, plus Bam Bam's semi-comeback was so fucking awesome.

NWA Bunkhouse Stampede (1988) - $500,000 Bunkhouse Stampede Match: Arn Anderson vs The Barbarian vs Dusty Rhodes vs Ivan Koloff vs Lex Luger vs Road Warrior Animal vs Tully Blanchard vs The Warlord

So apparently the only way to be eliminated from this match is to be thrown over the top of the fucking steel cage :lmao Everyone's wearing street clothes for this including ARN in a crop top :lmao this just keeps getting better. Probably not much to talk about here since everyone is gonna be brawling for awhile. Oh wait apparently you can be thrown through the door too. Koloff, The Barbarian, and Dusty end up on the ropes, and Barbarian almost eliminates Dusty, but he holds on and crotches Barbarian on the ropes with help from Animal. Ivan Koloff is busted open, I'm sure everyone will be before this one is over. The crowd is popping huge anytime Dusty or Animal gets a move on anyone, especially Tully or Arn. Koloff is taking a fucking beating in this match. Arn's bleeding now as well from Dusty and the cage, but man that crop top though. Dusty starts going crazy with his belt and this crowd is hot. Bob Caudle just compared this match to a gang war :lmao Jesus, Koloff just cut up Dusty's arm with a fucking belt buckle. Dusty's arm is fucked. Animal eliminates Koloff first by throwing him over the cage after Koloff climbed it for some odd reason. Animal and The Warlord get eliminated at the same time through the door after The Barbarian kicked Animal out of the door while he was trying to eliminate Warlord. Luger gets Tully in the Torture Rack for a little while, and I'm disappointed that they crowd didn't pop for it like I'm used to them doing. Tully and Arm double team Luger by the door for a bit, but Luger is holding them off. All three guys end up out, so that just leaves The Barbarian and Dusty in, wonder who's winning this one :hm: Barbarian keeps doing top rope headbutts on Dusty, and no matter how hurt he is these don't seem smart in this type of match. Barbarian goes for the elimination, but Dusty fights him off, and they end up on the top rope. Barbarian is straddling the cage, and Dusty measures his Bionic Elbow for like 5 minutes while Barbie stares at him to win by knocking him off. Pretty good action throughout this one, but Dusty is getting pretty meh by now. You know if we take this "prize" literally Dusty just booked himself to win half a million dollars 8D

WWE Championship Scramble, Unforgiven 2008.
(Triple H/Jeff Hardy/The Brian Kendrick/Shelton Benjamin/MVP)

Great match, and great idea. Why don't WWE ever use the best gimmick matches off the SVR games like this and armageddon HIAC lol.

Footnote; Smackdown might have had by far a shittier roster, but they had by far the better shows too. From 2005 - 2008, they were killing it on PPV, kind of embarassing the Raw brand.

Anyways, fun match. Will only be slightly remembered by smarks for Brian Kendrick 'winning' the WWE Title for a few seconds.

Steve Corino vs Justin Credible vs The Sandman - Tables, Ladders, Chairs & Canes - ECW World Title - ECW Guilty As Charged 2001

This was terrible, Sandman was drunk as fuck and the match didn't matter b/c Rhyno came out seconds later and won the belt in an impromptu squash lol.

Plus, being ECW, they naturally bought the shittiest cheap flimsy ladders so nobody could stunt off them....worst match on that card

WWF Royal Rumble 1988 - 2 out of 3 Falls: The Islanders (Haku & Tama) vs The Young Stallions (Jim Powers & Paul Roma)

So for some reason this is main eventing instead of the actual Rumble match, and it's also 2 out of 3 falls even though there was already one of those for the Women's Tag Team Championship earlier on the card. So Tama and Powers start this one off, and Tama is apparently a thug Islander. Decent stuff, but Tama's trying to play a straight heel instead of savage Islander, which I'm not a big fan of. Haku gets tagged in and Powers tags in the GOAT Future Horseman AKA Paul Roma. Some sloppy stuff, but this got much better once Haku got in the ring. The Islanders have control of Powers now for a bit until Powers and Haku clothesline each other simultaneously and Roma gets the hot tag. McMahon said something about Tama's toes and Ventura called him a racist :lmao Everything seems to be sloppy when Tama is in the ring. Tama sends Roma out of the ring and he sells the knee like he was shot, and ends up getting counted out for the first fall. After a commercial break, a replay from the Hogan/Andre contract signing earlier, an interview with Andre and DiBiase, AND a second commercial break, The Young Stallions finally come back from the dressing room to start the second fall. Roma's still selling the knee, and he has to start this second fall. Roma uses his knees to block a splash like an idiot, but at least he sells it. Powers gets in to a not-so-hot tag because this crowd seems dead now even though it was so hot earlier. Powers tags Roma in after awhile, but they just go right after his knee again. Tama hits a splash on the knee and Roma has to tap out after Haku puts him in a Half Boston Crab. Pretty meh match except for Haku's stuff really.

WWF WrestleMania IV (1988) - WWF World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Finals: Randy Savage (with Elizabeth) vs Ted DiBiase (with Andre the Giant)

This is Macho's fourth match of the night, but only DiBiase's third since he received a bye in the third round. Andre gets involved right at the beginning, and the referee warns him. Some fast-paced stuff here, but Andre just grabs Savage's leg again to trip him :lmao Both guys's trade some arm work, and then DiBiase takes control with some chops in the corner. Savage fights back after reversing a sunset flip. The crowd's not too hot for this for some reason. DiBiase tries to use his great heel work, but it doesn't even get much of a reaction. He's back in control now with some more strikes. Savage again comes back and sends DiBiase outside the ring with a high knee to the back. Savage goes up top but Andre is standing in between him and DiBiase. Savage says something to Elizabeth and she heads backstage for whatever reason, but DiBiase takes control again with his fist drops. Elizabeth comes back with Hogan to even the odds/steal the spotlight. Hogan sits down in a chair in Savage's corner and gets the attention of DiBiase. Andre tries to get involved again, but Hogan stops him this time as DiBiase is still in control in the ring. Macho finally comes back by throwing DiBiase off the top rope, but then misses his Diving Elbow. DiBiase locks on the Million Dollar Dream, and Andre prevents Savage from getting the ropes. The ref admonishes Andre and Hogan hits DiBiase with a chair during this allowing Savage to hit his elbow and win although Hogan still celebrates more than Savage. Hogan teaches us it's okay to cheat as long as it's for your friend and the belt that he so honorably defended for 3 and a half years.

NWA The Great American Bash '88 - NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Lex Luger vs Ric Flair (c) (with James J. Dillon)

Luger uses his power early to psych Flair out. The crowd seems to be in love with both guys. JR is so great at putting over both of these guys right now even though neither are really doing much as the pace is still real slow. Luger's smile when he no-sold the chops :lmao NICE dropkick by Luger sends Flair outside. Luger's still a little green but HOLY FUCK is this the most athletic he'll ever be. Flair gets in a shoving match with GROAT Tommy Young :lmao Young isn't an Earl though. Five minutes in and the pace is still pretty slow with Luger playing the power game still with a big pop every time he slams Flair. Luger locks in a bear hug on Flair, and Schiavone brings up that Flair might could have a weak back but doesn't even bring up the plane crash :hm: Thank God JR is here to let us know about that. Flair gets to the ropes after awhile, but Luger stays on top of him. Big pop as Luger suplexes Flair into the ring from the apron. It's amazing how little Flair does and still manages to work such a fucking good match. Outside the ring, Flair catches Luger in the eyes and slams him into the steel barrier a couple times to take control for the first time in the match. Love how Flair makes sure his knee pad is down before hitting his knee drop :mark: Flair starts working on Luger's ribs now, but Luger starts fighting back and ends up hitting a clothesline for a close two count. Flair in control again, but Luger quickly catches him on the top rope and crotches him on the ropes. Luger misses a dropkick, but Flair flops and both men are down. Back up, Luger catches him with another big clothesline but Flair gets his foot on the rope. Luger hits a beautiful sunset flip from the apron for a two count. Flair starts his GOAT leg work finally, and the crowd is eating this up. Flair locks in the Figure-4 for the first time and uses the ropes for added pressure :mark: Luger reverses the hold forcing Flair to let go. Luger can barely stand and Flair sells the leg pretty good too. Flair misses one of his rope hung leg strikes, and clotheslines Flair over the top rope and apparently clotheslines outside aren't illegal just throws. Back in the ring, Flair starts striking Luger, but Luger no-sells them like every 80s face and hits another Gorilla Press Slam, but then sells the leg, and then goes for a knee drop like an idiot :lmao Luger catches Flair on the top rope again and throws him like halfway across the ring. Luger no-sells an inverted atomic drop into an AWESOME clothesline :mark: Luger in control sends Flair to the corner and he goes over it to the floor :mark: Luger gets another near fall with a backslide. They both go over the top rope but they kinda botched the spot and Flair started screaming about his leg before they even went over the ropes. He slams Luger into the steel post and gets a chair, but GROAT Tommy Young stops him. JJ gets involved for the first time and slams Luger into the post as well. Luger's busted open now as Flair is in full control. Luger comes back and hits a big powerslam, but some athletic commissioner is calling for the referee. Luger locks in the Torture Rack, and the bell rings. Luger celebrates like an idiot, and the crowd pops huge as all the faces run down. But apparently, this athletic commissioner said Luger's cut was too bad and stopped the match :lmao Maryland Athletic Commissioners are a bunch of pussies. A pretty shitty finish, but the match was fun. If I recall correctly, they have a better one at Starrcade that I'll watch soon anyway.

WWF SummerSlam 1988 - Jesse Ventura as special guest referee: The Mega Bucks (Andre the Giant & Ted DiBiase) (with Bobby Heenan & Virgil) vs The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan & WWF World Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage) (with Miss Elizabeth)

Ventura's referee attire is fucking amazing. Ventura is moving the tag ropes for some reason and is completely shit talking Hogan :lmao Savage and Andre start this match and Andre beats on him before tagging in DiBiase. DiBiase says he wants Hogan, and Savage tags him in. Mega Powers easily take control with some double teaming on DiBiase. Really fast tags from The Mega Powers for awhile here until Andre ends up taking out both Savage and Hogan illegally. Andre then gets tagged in and takes it to Hogan with some slow offense. Andre is moving slower, but he's much better at wrestling as a heel now than he was at WrestleMania III. DiBiase gets a tag as Andre chokes Hogan out and keeps control. Savage keeps trying to get in and allows some double team from The Mega Bucks while he preoccupies Ventura. Hogan finally starts fighting back and DiBiase and him end up double clotheslining each other. Nice hot tag to Savage, and the crowd goes crazy. DiBiase hits a nice clothesline out of nowhere after a little while and tags in Andre. Andre just sits on Savage's face for like 2 minutes in the corner :lmao DiBiase gets back in and hits a nice suplex, and backbreaker. DiBiase misses a shitty elbow drop, and Savage is able to tag in Hogan. Hogan takes out Andre when he tries to get in and gets a sleeper on DiBiase. Savage goes for an Elbow drop on Savage but Andre gets a boot up. Andre then headbutts Hogan and throws him out of the ring with Savage. Elizabeth, Heenan and Virgil both get on the apron, distracting Jesse and the count. Elizabeth just takes off her skirt :lmao The crowd goes nuts and all the guys are distracted even though none of them are in position to see her ass, it looks good though. The Mega Powers get back in, and Hulk slams DiBiase, followed by an Elbow Drop from Savage and a Leg Drop from Hogan. Jesse hesitates on the three count so Savage just slams his hand down :lmao That ending was pretty dumb, but Elizabeth's ass was nice. The seeds start getting planted for the WrestleMania V main event here I guess.

WWF Survivor Series 1988 - Elimination Match: Haku, The Red Rooster, Ted DiBiase, & The Twin Towers (Akeem & The Big Boss Man) (with Bobby Heenan, Slick, & Virgil) vs Hercules, Hillbilly Jim, Koko B. Ware, & The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan & WWF World Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage) (with Miss Elizabeth)

DiBiase and Savage start off this one. Really hot stuff to start this one off. Hercules gets tagged in and chases Heenan and DiBiase before getting caught by The Rooster. Koko gets the tag, but gets caught quick and Rooster tags in Akeem. Quick tag to King Haku, but Koko is able to make it over to tag Hercules back in. Hogan gets tagged in for the first time and takes it to Haku. Hogan tags in Jim, and they hit a double big boot. Akeem back in, and tags in Rooster, but Rooster can't pick up Jim :lmao Koko back in and hits a nice powerslam on Rooster. Koko hits a NICE missile dropkick on Rooster before tagging Hogan back in. Hogan hits a big boot, then tags in Savage who hits the Diving Elbow to eliminate Rooster. All the faces get in the ring like they've already won the match for some reason, and we have to wait until things settle back down. Haku finally gets in, and Savage tags in Hogan. Haku owning Hoga with these strikes :mark: Hogan fights back and tags in Hercules. Hercules goes for a headlock but Haku hits a freakin' sweet Saito Suplex and tags in Akeem. Herc moves out of the way of an elbow and tags in Jim. These two fight for a little while until Akeem hits the 747 Splash on Jim to eliminate him. Koko catches Akeem from behind with his dropkick and Jesus this guy is more over than I remembered. Hogan gets tagged in and takes it to Akeem for a little while before tagging in Savage for some double team. Tag to Hercules, and Akeem is still on his feet after taking some heavy shots. Koko back in, and Akeem is able to reverse a corner splash and tag in Boss Man for the first time. Sidewalk Slam by Boss Man, and Koko is eliminated. Hogan comes in now, and this face off gets the crowd hot as fuck. Everyone's taking a shot at Boss Man, but he's still not down, even after a big boot from Hogan. Hogan finally gets him down with a big Scoop Slam. Boss Man gets back up pretty fast though and hits Hogan with a big spinebuster. Tag to Akeem, who tags Haku in pretty fast. These Haku/Hogan exchanges are the best part of this match by far. Boss Man gets back in and Hogan's really getting worked over here. Ventura calls Boss Man's offense "interrogation tactics" :lmao DiBiase gets back in for the first time in awhile and takes it to Hogan. Hogan starts fighting back to a big pop and hits an Atomic Drop before tagging Hercules. Herc gets tripped by Virgil, and the distraction allows DiBiase to roll him up for the pin. Savage quickly gets in and rolls up DiBiase :mark: That was smooth as FUCK! Haku in with Savage now, and these two are having some nice exchanges as well before Savage tags in Hogan. Haku with a nice Savate before tagging in Boss Man. Boss Man tags his Twin Towers partner back in and Hogan is taking a beating. Haku is so legit in this match and all his matches. Haku locks in a nerve hold and Hogan is able to fight out, but Boss Man gets tagged in and they continue working over Hogan. Sidewalk Slam by Boss Man, but he taunts instead of covers for some dumb reason. Both managers are screaming at Boss Man to cover Hogan as Boss Man goes up to the top rope, taunts some more and then misses a splash :lmao This allows Hogan to gets the hot tag to Savage who takes out all three guys like the boss he is before Slick trips him up for a nasty fall. Slick starts going after Elizabeth outside now and Hogan has to go save her while Savage is in the ring with Boss Man. Akeem and Boss Man both go attack Hogan now, and handcuff him to the bottom rope. Meanwhile, Haku is in the ring with Savage since Boss Man was counted out while fucking with Hogan. Boss Man's hitting Hogan with the nightstick now. Savage starts fighting back now, but Boss Man catches him with the nightstick too. 747 Splash on Savage, but Akeem was disqualified because of Boss Man's interference. Haku works over Savage in the ring now as Hogan's still handcuffed. Slick's taunting Hogan since he has the keys to the cuffs :lmao Haku accidentally hits a Savate kick on Slick while he was holding Savage, and Hogan takes out Heenan who ran to get the keys from Slick. Savage is still being worked over, but Elizabeth is able to get the keys from Slick to unlock Hogan. Hogan gets back on the apron as Haku accidentally kicks Savage into the corner. Hogan gets the tag and the crowd goes nuts. Hogan hits the big Leg Drop for the win. Nice match, some things could have been better but it was pretty fun.

NWA Starrcade '88 - NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Lex Luger vs Ric Flair (c) (with James J. Dillon)

So if Flair gets disqualified in this match, then Luger wins the belt. We have GROAT Tommy Young reffing this one. Flair plays some mind games at the beginning. After a few lockups, Flair gets caught taunting and Luger clotheslines him over the top rope. Flair sells it like his larynx was just crushed :lmao OH SHIT Lou Thesz in attendance for this one. Some nice chain wrestling here with Luger using his power whenever he can to take out Flair. The pace really quickens for a bit here as Luger hits Flair with a big powerslam, followed by a military press slam. Luger is really in control here now and Flair is taking a lot of punishment. They end up outside of the ring, but GROAT Tommy Young gets them back in like a pro. Flair Flop #1 of this match. Luger's really working over Flair's arm/shoulder right now. Flair finally gets a break with a thumb to the eye. Luger keeps no selling all of Flair's strikes, and they end up back outside of the ring. Luger locks on a hammerlock through the steel railing :mark: then slams Flair shoulder first into the ring post before getting back in the ring. Flair gets a little offense going again, but not for long as Luger hits him with a big clothesline for a close two count. Big suplex by Luger to the inside of the ring from the apron. Flair gets control again after a missed elbow drop from Luger and starts working over the midsection. Flair sends Luger outside and works him over by the railing. Back in the ring Flair pushes Tommy Young and GROAT pushes him back :lmao Flair's really in control now, dropping knees on Luger. Luger fights back now, and the crowd's pretty hot for this. Luger catches Flair in a sleeper off the ropes. Flair gets out of it and hits a back suplex, but both men are down now. Flair goes for the Figure-4, but Luger reverses it into a cradle for two :mark: Flair stays in control, but goes up to the top rope, c'mon Naitch. Luger gets up with him and the crowd is hot as fuck as Luger hits a superplex for a close two count. Luger quickly locks on the Figure-4 himself now. Flair gets the ropes, but it was with the help of Dillon so Tommy Young just kicks his hand off :lmao Flair eventually gets there on his own, and Luger accidentally elbows Young. Luger gets thrown over the top rope, but Young was distracted by Dillon. Luger quickly gets up and hits a big crossbody, but Dillon still distracts Luger enough to let Flair kick out. The pace is really quickening now as Luger is really taking it to Flair. Luger is hitting Flair with a ton of big moves. Dillons gets on the apron and distracts both Luer and the referee. This allows Flair to hit Luger's knee with a steel chair. Flair works over the knee some more and Luger yells "oh shit" :lmao Flair locks in the Figure-4, and Luger sells it like crazy. The crowd chants for Luger as he Luges Up and turns over the Figure-4 to get out of it. Flair goes up top again, but Luger catches him and slams him down. Luger is still selling the leg great. Luger comes back again and this crowd is so hot. Luger hits a military press slam again, but hurts his leg in the process. Luger keeps fighting back and hits a nice sunset flip for a two count on Flair. Flair goes for a flying forearm and Luger just takes it as Flair falls to the ground :lmao oh my god that spot was amazing. Jesus, it's already been 30 minutes. Luger in control again, but Flair keeps kicking out. Luger still selling the leg makes me so happy. He goes for the Torture Rack, but his leg buckles and Flair uses the ropes to pin him for the win :mark: GREAT FUCKING MATCH

WWF Royal Rumble 1989 - Royal Rumble match: Akeem vs Andre the Giant vs Arn Anderson vs WWF Tag Team Champion Ax vs Bad News Brown vs The Barbarian vs Big Boss Man vs Big John Studd vs Brutus Beefcake vs Bushwhacker Butch vs Bushwhacker Luke vs Greg Valentine vs Hercules vs Honky Tonk Man vs Hulk Hogan vs Jake Roberts vs Koko B. Ware vs Marty Jannetty vs Mr. Perfect vs WWF World Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage vs The Red Rooster vs Rick Martel vs Ron Bass vs Ron Garvin vs Shawn Michaels vs WWF Tag Team Champion Smash vs Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) vs Tito Santana vs Tully Blanchard vs The Warlord

I was even nice and listed the participants for you jobbers. Probably just going to talk about the entrances and eliminations for this one, maybe some stuff during it that catches my eye. Ax comes in at one and Smash at two and these guys don't even hesitate even though their partners, FUCKING AWESOME :mark: Andre comes in at number 3, shit I expected him later. Andre can barely move by this point. Number four is Mr. Perfect MY smurf :mark: Andre eliminates Smash pretty suddenly. Out comes Ronnie Garvin at number five as Andre does his tied in the ropes spot. Perfect's selling is on point. Number 6 is Greg Valentine. They all try to team up on Andre, but he's able to eliminate Garvin. Jake THE GOAT Roberts is out next and he goes right for Andre. Ron Bass sporting his new haircut from Brutus Beefcake is out at number 8 and FUCK Andre eliminates Jake :( Shawn Michaels is out at number 9 and I hope Jannetty comes out soon because these two were fucking great as a tag team at this point. Perfect perfectly eliminates Ax. Almost does the same to Michaels but he skins the cat :mark: This Michaels/Perfect exchange though :homer: Number 10 is Butch of the Bushwhackers. Jake comes back and slides Damien in the middle of the ring during this match :lmao Andre jumps out of the ring to eliminate himself and everyone's hiding in the corner until Jake takes Damien back :lmao Now Michaels and Perfect are working as a team for a few moves :mark: Honky Tonk Man comes out at 11 and gets the biggest heat so far. Tito Santana comes out at number 12, some really solid action going on in the ring right now. Bad News Barrett Brown out at number 13. Butch and Tito eliminate Honky to some big cheers from the crowd. Marty Jannetty at number 14 and we better get some Rockers double team :mark: Double dropkick by The Rockers to eliminate Bass :mark: "I'm certain neither of The Rockers would ever turn on the other." Oh Ventura. Halfway through as Randy Savage comes sprinting in at number 15 without even taking his glasses and bandana off :mark: ARN comes out at number 16 as Savage eliminates Valentine. Arn and Shawn with the GOAT exchange of this match so far. Shawn's out :( Tully comes in at number 17 so we got both Brainbusters in. ARN WITH THE SPINEBUSTER FOLLOWED BY ELBOW DROPS BY TULLY ON JANNETTY! Jannetty fights off elimination for awhile, but finally gets out from Tully as Hogan comes in at number 18 and instantly eliminates Perfect who's been in since number 4 :( Tito got eliminated at some point, Ventura just noticed and I didn't see it either. Bad News and Tully get close to eliminating Hogan and the crowd is popping :lmao Number 19 is the other Bushwhacker, Luke. Butch gets eliminated a few seconds afterwards though. Koko B. Ware out at number 20. The crowd's been really hot for awhile now. Hogan eliminates Koko THAT DIRTY TRAITOR YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HIS FRIEND! Hogan then eliminates Luke, lol this guy no wonder he turned heel 7 years later. The Warlord out at number 21 as Hogan eliminates both Brainbusters FUCK THIS GUY! The Warlord gets eliminated in two seconds by Hogan and then Hogan eliminates Bad News and Savage. Everyone's out but Hogan, but Savage comes in and these two are in each others face. Elizabeth comes out now to try and separate them, okay I miss the match already. These two kiss and make up right as Big Boss Man comes out at number 22. TBH, I'm still laughing at Warlord being eliminated in two seconds. Hogan takes a piledriver from a still green Boss Man, brave fucking guy. The other half of The Twin Towers, Akeem comes out. They eliminate Hogan after a little while to some nice heat. Hogan pulls Boss Man under the rope and starts attacking both of them with the bell as Brutus Beefcake comes out. These guys are fighting outside now because of Hogan's tomfoolery. Hogan just told the refs "I'm going back in there." but the refs convinced him to leave :lmao Hogan pulls down the ropes to eliminate Boss Man, this guy's such a bitch. Hogan beats Boss Man with everything he can find on the way backstage and Ventura is OWNING Hogan on commentary. The Red Rooster is out next, poor Terry Taylor. The announcers talk about who's left in the match and it's a pretty lackluster finishing stretch. The Barbarian is out next and wow he's already lasted longer than his partner. Big 747 Splash on The Rooster as Big John Studd comes out at number 27 (hey isn't this the most likely number to win :hm:) Hercules is out next at number 28, just two guys left. Rick Martel at 29, that's the guy the announcers and I forgot about, I thought I miscounted or something. He's not even a model yet, get this guy out of here. DiBiase comes out at number 30, this guy bought his number what a freakin' guy. DiBiase sends The Rooster up and over the turnbuckle to eliminate him. Brutus locks on a sleeper on Beefcake and The Barbarian and DiBiase are able to eliminate them both. Martel ducks a Barbarian clothesline and dropkicks him in the back for the elimination. Akeem throws Martel out with a decent amount of ease. Studd pulls DiBiase in front of an Akeem splash and eliminates Akeem while he's checking on DiBiase. DiBiase tries to buy off Studd :lmao Studd hits a lot of big moves on DiBiase before eliminating him for the win. Virgil tries to attack Studd from behind and Studd just destroys him lol. This was a solid Rumble match, but it really started sucking after Hogan eliminated Savage. Up until then though, the action was really hot. Definitely better Rumbles, but this one wasn't bad, but I did get annoyed towards the end because the ending was pretty lackluster

Yeah I rewatched Rumble 89 recently and think that match has stood up pretty well over time.

WCW Chi-Town Rumble (1989) - NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Ric Flair (c) (with Hiro Matsuda) vs Ricky Steamboat

Flair comes out with some roses and throws them to the crowd. What a guy. GROAT Tommy Young referring this one. Really solid mat work adn chain wrestling to start this one off. Flair rolls out of the ring after a few quick two counts by Steamboat. These two in a chopping battle :homer: Steamboat is in control for most of the early part of this one, forcing Flair to resort to his dirty tactics. Flair hits a chop on Steamboat, and Steamboat retaliates with one that knocks Flair down :mark: More great chain wrestling here with Steamboat keeping the control with his speed. Holy shit, I can't even call half this stuff because it's just so great. More fucking chops and close two counts by Steamboat :mark: Flair ends up outside again, and Steamboat really has his number in this match. Flair hasn't got anything going yet. Flair yells at Steamboat to come to him in the middle of the ring, and now Flair gets some stuff going, but Steamboat stops him again and hits some awesome dropkicks and headscissors followed by ANOTHER close two count. They start exchanging some strikes now, and each guy hits some big ones. Steamboat chops Flair over the top rope :mark: JESUS both of these guys' chests must be fucking sore right now. Flair finally gets in control outside the ring using the steel railing and some of his patented chops. 1989 Flair is at his very best and this is so fucking fun to watch. Knee drops by Flair, followed by a double arm suplex. Steamboat starts fighting back with some strikes now, but OH SHIT FLAIR DOES HIS TURNBUCKLE SPOT AND ACTUALLY HITS THE CROSSBODY BUT STEAMBOAT REVERSES THE MOMENTUM FOR A TWO COUNT! OH SHIT FLAIR LOCKED IN THE FIGURE-4 NOW!!!! This Figure-4 has been locked in for awhile and Flair finally gets caught using the ropes by GROAT Tommy Young, so he has to break it up. Steamboat's really hurt now, and Flair's in full control. Steamboat still tries to fight back however, and they start exchanging some strikes. Both men end up going over the top rope in a great spot :mark: Flair slams Steamboat into the steel post pretty hard, then Suplexes him back inside the ring for a close two count. So many near falls in this match, and the crowd is eating it up. Flair then has some word with GROAT Tommy Young, and Young pushes him :lmao Flair gets four close two counts with his feet on the ropes and Steamboat almost wins with a roll up :mark: Missed crossbody by Steamboat, and Flair is heeling it up right now. Steamboat with this fucking awesome bridge into a double arm suplex that would have won it but Flair gets his foot on the rope :mark: More close two counts with some pinning combinations, and each near fall is better than the last. Steamboat comes out of nowhere with a big clothesline, and takes out Flair with a shoulder block before going up top. Steamboat hits a diving chop to the head, and goes back up to the top. JR's going nuts as Steamboat hits a crossbody on Flair, but Flair's GOAT self pulls Tommy Young in the way so there won't be a count. Flair takes advantage of this by trying to throw Steamboat over the top rope, but Steamboat holds on and goes for another crossbody, but misses. Flair goes for the Figure-4, but Steamboat turns it into a pin, and TEDDY FUCKING LONG comes in and makes the three count :mark: JESUS CHRIST THIS MATCH WAS EVEN BETTER THAN I REMEMBERED IT FUCK ME! I COULDN'T EVEN KEEP UP WITH THE LAST FEW MINUTES!

WWF WrestleMania V - WWF World Heavyweight Championship: Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage (c)

Don't know how this one is going to follow Rooster/Heenan, but here we go. Elizabeth is in a neutral corner in this one and she's looking pretty great tonight. Savage is skeptical at first, and leaves the ring as Hogan tries to lock up with him. They finally lock up, and Hogan just powers Savage down. The crowd's really hot for Hogan, as he continues to use his power on Savage, who takes a breather whenever possible. Kinda' following the formula of the Flair/Luger main events from the year prior, but it's working. Savage finally takes control with a shot to the eyes. Hogan follows Savage out the next time, and Savage uses Elizabeth as a shield to some great heat. Hogan tries so chain wrestling and doesn't do too bad with it. Savage hits a back suplex, but quickly misses a running elbow drop. Hogan hits Savage with some illegal (thank you Ventura) closed fists. Savage takes control with another thumb to the eye, and hits a diving double axe handle for a two count. The crowd helps Hogan fight out of a rest hold, and he's able to pull Savage outside the ring. Hogan then slams Savage into the turnbuckle and hits a big clothesline followed by a few elbows. Savage catches him off the rebound, and it looks like Hogan's cut above his eye. Savage takes control again with a chinlock. Hogan fights back once again and hits a big atomic drop, but Savage fights back and hits some knees to the back followed by a roll up for a two count. Hogan is able to fight back again, and Savage's selling is great. HOGAN FUCKING SLAMS SAVAGE ALL THE WAY OVER THE TOP ROPE OUT OF NOWHERE :mark: That was a sick spot, but it was really randomly placed and out of character for Hogan. Savage refuses help from Elizabeth and goes after Hogan's cut eye after he comes out. Hogan able to block most of Savage's offense though. Elizabeth stops Hogan from ramming Savage into the steel post, but Savage takes advantage and slams Hogan into it. Savage is threatening Elizabeth now, and referee Hebner makes a GOAT decision to send Elizabeth to the back. Savage goes up top and hits a diving axe handle outside to Hogan. Back in the ring, Savage goes to work on the throat and guillotines Hogan over the top rope. Savage chokes Hogan with his wrist tape and Ventura says "That's a Jesse the Body move" :lmao Savage goes for the Diving Elbow, and hits it, but Hogan kicks out and Hulks Up to huge cheers from the crowd. Hogan's no selling now and hits the big boot followed by the leg drop now for the sudden victory. Not a bad match at all, but I think these two could have done better. It became much more enjoyable after Elizabeth left, but before then these two were just exchanging their moves pretty much. Easily the best match of this PPV though.

WCW WrestleWar 1989 - NWA United States Tag Team Championship: The First Family (Eddie Gilbert & Rick Steiner) (c) (with Missy Hyatt) vs The Varsity Club (Dan Spivey & Kevin Sullivan)

So this and the World Tag Championship match followed Steamboat/Flair and Funk's heel turn :lmao Sullivan and Gilbert start exchanging blows before this one even starts, and all four men end up outside the ring. Spivey rams Steiner into the ring post outside while Gilbert works over Sullivan in the ring. Sullivan takes control and tags in Spivey. Gilbert and Missy check on Steiner and he's still hurt from Spivey's attack. Steiner finally gets back up and Sullivan attacks him again as Gilbert and Spivey are going at it in the ring. Spivey and Gilbert fight outside the ring as Sullivan once again slams Steiner into the post. Back in the ring, Spivey tags in Sullivan, and he works over Gilbert. Spivey gets tagged back in as Steiner is struggling to get to the apron. Spivey just hit a pretty decent dropkick for a guy his size. Gilbert is able to fight out of a backbreaker rack, but Spivey quickly tags in Sullivan. Spivey back in after a double team, and hits a big sidewalk slam for a two count. Gilbert is finally able to sneakily get a tag, but Tommy Young didn't see it. Spivey gets in the ring, and as Young was getting him out, Steiner clotheslines Sullivan into Gilbert's pin for the win. After the match, The Varsity Club kills both guys pretty much. Meh match, they could have at least let the other tag match close the show, but it should have been Flair/Steamboat and Funk's awesome heel turn.
