I wondered if anyone could explain something for me or share an alternate veiwpoint....
Both Honky Tonk Man & Jake, in various interviews & docu's, have said that their match together at WM3 was the first ever mid-match double heel/face turn.
At the end of the match, and for the next 4 years Jake was a face that much is clear, but I can't fathom the above claim, regardless of it being a 'first' or not...
Honky attacked Jake, from behind, with his guitar on the Snake Pit to set the match up (Heelish action) and was managed by Jimmy Hart (a Heel).
To my mind you had a match between a recently turned heel (Honky) and a guy who's face-turn had already been solidified by the above mentioned guitar attack (Jake) but even then regardless of the heel/face dynamic going into the match, nothing happened or changed DURING the match.
...So, what gives? ...Anyone?
