Jason Powell of Prowrestling.net is reporting that Hulk Hogan recently underwent back surgery to repair an injured disc. This surgery, while not a major setback, will make a match for The Hulkster highly unlikely at Wrestlemania 25. Although reports that Hogan and Vince McMahon did have talks about a Hogan appearance at the PPV are true, it is now being reported that the Twitter updates coming from "Hogan's" account were actually being posted by an impostor. Powell is also reporting that the type of surgery Hogan received generally carries a 6 week rehab period, once again making the idea of him taking bumps in a match seem impossible at this point.

Uhm, it says its probably not going to happen. Not that he's going to wrestle with a bad back?

I wouldn't have seen where they'd go with Hogan other than Chris Jericho. Even still, no.

Hopefully, one more surgical operation, then Hogan will realize he's out of gas. Have to give the man props' for persistancy.

How is one match every I don't know three or four years persistancy? that's just showing up whenever the hell he feels like it. If I recal the last two times he showed up was at Wrestle Mania 22 or 21 (the one in Hollywood) that he confronted Muhammad Hassan. And the other time was his match with HBK in 06.

Ever since say 2000 or around when he left WCW and that went down the drain with his Hollywood Hogan run. He has been anything but consistant Imo, he has just been showing up every couple of years whenever he needs a new pay check for a one nights work.

Sure he was consistant every week in the main event in his prime but now, nope. And honestly I think that's a good thing.

I can't say I'm disappointed that I won't see Hogan in a match at 'Mania. It's time for him to realize he's wayyy past his prime. It's hard I guess, since he was the biggest thing in wrestling once.

Here's hoping he recovers alright, at least.

So in 2002 he was in his prime as Undisputed Champion? In 2003 when he supposedly walked out because Vince wouldn't give him the title he was in his prime?

Face it, if he didn't have person problems with Vince, he would be out there as much as possible. I guess his little wrestling promotion is also him staying away from the business, right?

Just because an internet report says a match is unlikely doesn't mean it's true. The closest thing to fact on there is the back surgery part, as that seems the most likely.

People can read into things in different ways. Quite honestly I find what KnicKy said to be more accurate than what a the net reporter said.

Agree'd, I cant be too dependant on these internet reports.

In '08 he made no apperances. In '07, he not only moved a hell of a lot during his feud with Randy Orton. He also wrestled a match, and had a segment with The Great Khali near Christmas time in the same year. Quite frankly, I believe your just jumping on the "go home (enter retired star)" band wagon. If you say the guy hasn't busted his ass trying to make those "one time" appearances then your highly mistaken. The guy is 55 years old, and still wrestling with several problems hence the back surgery, and any other medical issues. I call that persistancy. Not just wrestling in the ring, but he's on his own promotion, he's wrestled on other promotions, and in a nut shell, he's just as involved in the business as he was in 2002 when he had his Undisputed Championship reign.
