The TNA website issued a statement this afternoon claiming Christy Hemme suffered a neck injury while training in the ring with AJ Styles for her Women’s Knockout Championship match against Awesome Kong at the Genesis pay-per-view. As a result, Hemme will be able to compete at tomorrow night’s event. Even worse, her injury will require surgery and she will be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.

Here is TNA’s statement regarding Hemme:

CHRISTY HEMME INJURED: UNABLE TO COMPETE THIS SUNDAY AT “GENESISâ€

TNAwrestling.com has learned that Christy Hemme has sustained a neck injury while training in the ring with AJ Styles for Sunday’s Women’s Championship match.

According to TNA officials, Hemme will be unable to compete at “Genesis†against Awesome Kong.

Unfortunately, her injury will require surgery and she will be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.

On Sunday, TNA Management Director Jim Cornette will name a replacement to face Kong for the Women’s Championship.

Everyone at TNA wishes Christy all the best and we will certainly update fans on her condition as we learn more information.

All I have to say is thank god for TNA. It's nice that Christy was training, but that doesn't mean she should immediately get the title. Let her train for a year first so she's actually good enough.

That's a shame. Not because she's a good wrestler, but because you never want to see someone getting hurt (Unless its Randy Orton). Besides, no matter who bad she may be in the ring, she's the only female competitor that has been built up these past couple of months to face Kong.

Now we'll probably get ODB vs Kong or something like that.

That sucks. And that's right, they haven't built up anyone that could challenge Kong and actually look believable to win.
So with that being said, time for Roxxi/Kong program to start, Roxxi becoming new Knockout champ of course how it should have been before.

EDIT: Or unmask Saeed and have her be Cheerleader Melissa and put them in a feud. I here she's good.

Phew! Saved from a poor match, but of course hope she gets better soon, she did show signs of improving.
