He must have been a bad dish - one bite and he's out of here!

After his debut video package appeared on Smackdown last week, plans have been dropped for the new character that was to be played by Hade Vansen. Vansen was going to be put into an angle with the Undertaker, but Vince McMahon made the call to drop the angle and the character. McMahon didn't want an unproven developmental talent being put into a major angle before he had been tested.

Michael Hayes was the man behind the angle, which was to create a new nemesis for the Undertaker. Kevin Thorn and developmental talent Black Pain were to be associated with the new character, but they were told at last week's TV that the angle and their new character had been scrapped.

Vansen was to portray a dark character that would have "cult" overtones, with Thorn and Pain being paired with him. Vansen has been with WWE since 2007, when he was signed to a developmental deal, but missed the better part of a year with a severe knee injury.

Would not have liked it, trying to instigate a feud between similar gimmicks.

A storyline to have been implemented post-Mania, perhaps?

Considering their use of Thorn in the past it seems to me like they've been wanting to do an angle like this for quite a while.

Shame. Coulda been good... Seems strange that they’d air a promo only to then scrap the whole plan (based on the reasons above)... You’d think that “no rookies in the ME” would be a fundamental VKM-ruling for creative...?

I wonder why it toke til now for them to consider that. I'd think it would come up in creative before airing his promos that he hasn't had not 1 match in front of a big crowd, so they don't know how he'll do. Let alone having his 1st feud be against somebody as high as Taker. And from seeing the promo, I think his size would come into play as well.
