literally in the Q&A they say log in with your pay TV provider and get it without paying $29.99 a month.

And yes they will literally air select premium live events on ESPN now.

I'm done with the brigade of people who just shit on WWE nonstop. Y'all are shitty people that are just as bad as the you claim the company is.

It doesn’t say that at all.

That reads as it's available with pay TV.

The only way this possibly impacts me is what it would mean for the back catalog. I'm glad it's still on Peacock right now. I've never tried to look for old shows on Netflix so idk if they've added that or to what extent. But the only value WWE's distribution deals provide me currently is with easy access to their archive. I certainly don't intend to get this ESPN app, so I can only hope the catalog will continue to live somewhere that I'm easily able to access it.

$30 per month is too much for me, even if I drop another service. From what I understand things are still up in the air regarding NXT specials as well as classic content. I'd be willing to bet that if the classic content were to move to another service there would be a lot of content dropped such as the Old School shows as well as classic shows such as Prime Time Wrestling, Wrestling Challenge, and classic Superstars. As is a lot of Raw shows have disappeared since the move to Netflix. If the classic content moves, I will certainly drop Peacock. Somehow I doubt Peacock will survive another 2 years without WWE.

I think Peacock will be fine without WWE with the shows they have on there like The Office, Parks & Rec, and The Good Place. I’m sure a lot of people got it just to watch The Office specifically when that left Netflix, and Peacock does have a decent library of movies as well as their original shows like Twisted Metal and Poker Face which seem to be fairly popular.

This is what I see

"What features will be added to the enhanced ESPN App at launch?
-The enhanced ESPN App will introduce new features and personalized fan-friendly experiences such as multiview, enhanced personalization, integration of stats, betting, fantasy sports and commerce, and a personalized SportsCenter For You. The new features and functionality will be available to all fans who watch on the ESPN App, whether they subscribe directly or through a traditional pay TV package."

I dont see it say anywhere that you dont have to pay the 30 bucks a month if you log in through your tv provider.

Library not included, other details unknown apparently

The new deal with ESPN is for five years and doesn’t include access to WWE’s large archival library, Wrestlenomics has learned, though new PLEs that air live on ESPN’s platform will be available there for replay.

The deal will pay WWE an average of $325 million per year, according to the Wall Street Journal and CNBC. That’s a 1.6x increase over the $200 million that NBCUniversal has been paying since 2021.

Under the deal, ESPN’s streaming platform will carry WWE’s live PLEs. The announcement also notes that select PLEs will also broadcast on ESPN’s “linear platforms” (read: traditional TV channels). The press release from TKO and ESPN doesn’t specify which PLEs those might be or what traditional ESPN channels might simulcast certain events.

ESPN also announced today that the new service will launch on August 21 and will be priced at $30 per month and will provide access to all of ESPN’s traditional TV channels: ESPN, ESPN2,ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, as well as additional sports broadcasts that air on ABC, ESPN+, and other platforms.

The new deal means at least live broadcasts of PLEs in the U.S. will leave Peacock in early 2026.

ESPN’s platform will also air pre-shows and post-shows of the PLEs, according to a person familiar with the new deal. WWE’s vast archival library of wrestling content are also not a part of the new deal.

We’ve asked WWE and NBCUniversal if Peacock will continue to be the home of WWE content, including WWE’s video library. We’ll update our reporting if we learn more.

I had to resubscribe for my fiancee and her sisters to keep watching reality TV shows, peacock has Love Island

I mean even if the library was on this new ESPN app, I wouldn't get it. I'm basically saying I just hope they keep the library on something I already have, because that's nice and convenient. If they move it somewhere else, fuck it, it ain't really worth it that much to me anymore since I have watched so much old shit these last several years, there isn't much left that would be worth me going out of my way for.

That says still get ESPN. It's saying you're not gonna just lose the channels because this service will have them.

Stop fucking yelling and being a dick to people, then getting pissy when they get it back with you. I really wish you would look in the damn mirror and see you aren't so innocent. It's not just me telling you that anymore..

That article makes it sound like archive rights will be a separate thing so peacock could pay much less to keep them potentially if they even see value without current program

I don't think it can be any more clear than it has been everywhere else. The DTC service is available by logging in with your pay TV provider.

What are people even arguing against Troop about? :lol I mean, "no one wants me to enjoy WWE" stuff aside... As a WWE fan who already has cable, this is definitely cool for him. I side with him as reading that entry in the FAQ to mean that the app (at least the aspects that are tied to WWE events being broadcast on ESPN) won't be any additional if you already have cable with ESPN. And considering he already has cable, he will be able to watch the events that are broadcast on the ESPN TV channel anyways, without needing any additional subscription. Maybe my reading comprehension has fallen off, maybe they're using wording that makes it unclear, idk. I feel like Troop is justified to see this is as a positive for himself at least.
