People ate that stuff up in the 80's and early 90's. The Cold War was ending then came the Gulf War and whether you agree with the wars or not, Americans were more patriotic than ever during that time and they were looking for someone who represented Americana and he was it.

The same could be said for Hacksaw Jim Duggan, who lived and breathed America. The man popped the crowd just by going "USA".

Use your brain and realize he's making two separate statements here not one.

"All of the competitors have died" is not true for 1 and that's all Blaze said. He then separately said 12 is the only one with both alive. Blaze is not saying WrestleMania 1 has everyone alive

They weren’t close to Hogan though. They may have been over in WWE but Hogan was a global icon. Dude was legit everywhere. Not a person in America didn’t know who he was. Not many wrestlers break out like that.
