In times when some new storylines are needed, the answer is usually "on air characters".
By on air characters, I don't mean wrestlers. They're always in feuds and storylines. But usually, an injection of a new character, such as a gm, president, announcer, etc, adds excitement to the program. The new character also allows new storylines and angles to open up. However, there's been plenty of gm storylines in wwe lately, as well as plenty of new announcers. What there hasn't been many additions of, however, is a good, old fashioned, manager.

Managers can
1-Be involved in storylines, therefore adding storylines that weren't used before, because it is a brand new character, who can be in new storyliens
2-Help push a superstar
3-Advance a superstar

Anyways, the past several years, managers and mouth pieces haven't been as prominent as the 80's and 90's.

So it's simple really, would you like to see some more manager characters brought in to wwe to help advance some young guys, more specifically in the midcard? Do you think more focus should be put on mnagers for a while?
And, if so, name a few superstars you think should have a manager/mouthpiece.

Armando Alejandro Estrada should have never left Umaga. I think that if Umaga turns face he will need a manager, which could essentially be Ricky Ortiz. Even as a heel a manaer could help develop his charachter. That's all I got for now.

It's been like that for a while now, good male managers were replaced by pretty girls for a little bit (like Lita, Melina, Cherry, etc.), and I don't blame the WWE for taking that strategy, because it works, sex sells.

there should be way more managers. having more of them would help everyone. Shows would be more watchable, so it won't be as boring as sitting through a Matt Hardy or Shelton Benjamin promo. most of the characters that have had managers were successful too, like Umaga and when Paul Heyman was managing.

I'm all for managers with a bigger role in wrestling in general.

Definitely in favor of seeing old managers/ announcers being brought back to help advance the young guys and adding that extra thrill to WWE programming, people like Eric Bischoff, Paul Heymen and Jimmy Hart used to add excitement to the shows, we need to see more of this on television.

A Heenan Family equivalent would be awesome.

...But somewhere down the line during the Attitude days the traditional wrestling stable got replaced by NWO or DX-like factions where the wrestlers themselves were able to play the antagonist (and handle the mic themselves).

I s'pose we have female valets from time to time and a guy like 'Zeke, but the thing I like about managers is that they have that tangiable reason for being at ringside in Kayfaybe (other than to cheat on behalf of their guy).
