UK, November 21, 2008 - Trophies will be a part of all new PlayStation 3 games from January 2009, with Sony making the feature mandatory.
To date, trophy support for PlayStation 3 titles has been sporadic, with only a select few titles including Sony's reward system since its introduction in July this year. From January they will be a required part of any game released on the console, with VideoGamer.com revealing the news last night.
This will put an end to post-release trophy patches, with big titles such as Uncharted implementing them well after the game has shipped.
Good it's bull that SD vs RAW 09 doesn't have trophies considering they would be the same as the achievements. Hopefully the first Resistance,MGS4 and a few other titles can get trophies. But it's nice that this will prevent developers from getting lazy.
