During Thursday’s quarterly conference call for WWE, Linda McMahon was asked to address whether she views TNA as competition or not. She stated that while TNA might be in the same genre, WWE considers all forms of television entertainment as true compeition.

WWE has been consistent in their claims that they consider other non-wrestling television shows and sports broadcasts as more serious competition than TNA.

I know I'm going to sound like a typical TNA mark by saying this but, I think TNA is starting to creep up on WWE. Sure, they still aren't even close in terms of TV ratings, but TNA is actually starting to make money. And after the big 1.2 rating that they got this past Thursday, I'm starting to think that people are interested in their product again.

Thoughts?

Well if anyone noticed last weeks show really lacked in the comedy dept. I think that is a creative change on TNA's part. It seems like they might be trying to be more serious. Look at Young not freaking out over his Pyro, and so forth. It could be the edge TNA needs to really give the WWE a run.

I don't think TNA is as close to the WWE as you think it is though. I mean yeah they may be making money now, but it can't be that much...after all this is a company that had to let two Road Agents go to save costs. Although they are growing they seem to still be spending too much money in some area's. If they weren't they would have had to let go of Simon Diamond & Disco Inferno.

^ I'm actually happy they let Disco Inferno go. I heard he was the reason for lots of TNA's problems. I even heard that he thinks Titles are meaningless and if he had full power TNA wouldn't have any belts :nonono:

^^well theres no arguement there that he was useless, none the less I'm not convinced that TNA is making as much money as they claim

Oh is this a "We are on a totally different level than them even though we are both professional wrestling" type statements?

Give me a break, WWE thinks their shit don't stink. When shit comes to shit, it stinks every single time.

Let's be real here for a second.

Product wise? That's an argument for another time but, ROH has better product than both TNA and WWE (according to some of you), and can ROH be considered competition? Exactly.

In profit, TNA is leagues away from WWE. The circles in which WWE manages themselves TNA just dream of being in. And it's all the little details, like for example how SD vs Raw is one of the more sell games, and instead TNA's game is an epic fail. The arenas WWE sell out TNA couldn't do it ever, at least for now.

Besides, sorry to sound like typical WWE mark but;Kurt Angle, Sting, Christian Cage, AJ Styles and a storyline being pushed as THEE Biggest ever in TNA history, plus being live and in HD, and you get 1.2? That's just 0.2 from the show with Mark Henry vs Finlay main eventing...and on election night.

CMS hit the nail on the head again. TNA really needs to get higher than a 1.1 every week before the wwe takes serious notice. Good point about ROH, even though thats completely different. But it makes sense with TNA. Just because they put on a better show, dont mean anything.

I thought it was a rather diplomatic statement.

Give me a break, WWE thinks their shit don't stink. When shit comes to shit, it stinks every single time.

How the hell does that adage apply to what was said?

You, are mis-appropriating the statement, just like the 'journalist did when they said "WWE has been consistent in their claims that they consider other non-wrestling television shows and sports broadcasts as more serious competition than TNA."

As for the reality of it all.... CMS & Montana already got this sewn up.

I used to HATE TNA. Then I actually watched it.
It is by far better programming then WWE.

...And??? All that proves is you're dumb enough to write something off, not to mention "HATE" it, before forming your own informed opinion.

...Which leaves the above extremely hard to take seriously.

When I can watch TNA, and not WWE, something going wrong with WWE.

It could be the total shit booking, the total predictability of their events. But I just blame everyone :D.

I thing the last 2 or 3 weeks of TNA booking and programing has been very solid for the most part. I still prefer WWE. But I'm liking that there seems to be some improvement/progress in Russo's booking. It just makies wrestling more intresting.
