Heat is heat.

Whether it be from repeating an annoying line, performing a rest hold or insulting the audience, the fact of the matter is, HEAT IS HEAT, no matter how you get it.

I really do get sick of people saying 'they aren't good heels, it's just get off my tv heat'. And guess what? That is heat. It doesn't matter how you get it, a good heel gets heat.

Maybe Vickie constantly repeats that annoying 'EXCUSE ME' line, because you know what? She is a heel. Heels are meant to get heat. That line gets heat every time. So why not use it?

What is your opinion? Is heat still heat, no matter how you get it? Or is there a fine line between supposed 'real heat' and 'get off my tv heat'?

What about the type of heat that the Rock and Rave infection get? The 'put you plastic f'n guitars does and stop wasting room on my screen' this is the kind of 'go die' heat that is not really heat in my mind. If a wrestler gains heat then it means the fans are interested in them or their match, which is not the case for the gtfo heat.

So no, heat is not always heat as genuine heat capture the interest of the audience unlike the heat which doens not do this therefore is not real heat... lol I just confused myself

To quote Lance Storm, at least when people were chanting 'BORING' in his matches, they were getting into the match. If somebodies booing you, then they are into the match, no matter why they are booing you.

If the RnR Infection keep using the obnoxious guitars and fans keep booing them, they are doing there job.

When the audience boo a resthold that isn't heat. When the WWE fans start chanting "TNA!, TNA!" during a Kahli match - that isn't heat. I do think people try to blur the lines though.

In my opinion Vicki Guerrero gets great heat. When someone like The Undertaker starts bullying her the fans love it, so in that case she's creating good face heat by being a good heel. If the fans just kept booing her even when her enemies were getting the upper hand I'd say it's just "get off the TV" heat.

John Cena blurred the lines alot. I think people reacted badly to his huge push when he couldn't even put on convincing matches, but Vince just stuck with it through better or for worse and Cena's boo's truned out to be beneficial to his opponents sometimes (eg Triples at WM22), so you'd have to say Cena turned out to be something of a heat machine, despite taking an obvious shortcut of getting heat for being shit at wrestling.

Vickie's heel heat started with annoyance and evolved, so I suppose as long as it ends up as legitimate heat then any heat is a good foundation. Same can be said for Rocky Maivia...

Generally, yes, heat is heat. The thing is, you walk a very fine line somtimes in the business. There will always be some people who will turn off the TV if they get too annoyed but if you can keep the majority of the fans pissed off and giving you a reaction, youre doing your job. Right now people wont get off Vickie Guerrero's back but what most people dont remember is that these EXACT....SAME....THINGS were said about Stephanie McMahon when she first started as GM and look what happened, people are clamoring for her to come back.

But here is the rule of thumb most people inside the business and any other business go by, if people are talking, its good.
