there was at one point a rumor about cher playing catwoman but it has now been proven false michael caine (alfred) recently talked to sum1 at WB and they talked aobut the pssoiblites of depp as riddler and phillip semour hoffman as the penguin (phillip semour hoffman as the penguin?) perosonally i think jim carrey could lay a dark riddler just as wel as he played the goofy one but depp will prob. be good too

I thought Nolan wanted to translate the other Batman villains into film, i.e. the guys who haven't been on the silver screen: Mad Hatter, Clayface, Black Mask, Harley Quinn (who'd be so logical for the role in the third one), Killer Croc, and The Ventriloquist. We've seen Penguin, Joker (twice), Riddler, Two Face (twice), Catwoman, Bane, Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy (though not done properly), Ra's al Ghul and Scarecrow. I think it's time for some others, though Depp as The Riddler would be so awesome if it were to happen.

The first Batman movies have nothing to do with Nolan's Batman. Hense none of the villians from Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever & Batman & Robin, were done right. Mr. Freeze, Bane especially. Depp is almost for sure in as the Riddler. He's been rumored for quite some time now. Cher would never happen. It was probably a joke by Nolan that someone didn't realize was a joke and ran with it.

Seeing as there is a Love story behind Catwoman & Batman, it would just be freaky seeing billionare playboy Bruce Wayne hooking up with old as shit Selina Kyle. lol Nolan has said he would love to do all the villian characters, but obviously unless the movies are done right, its not likely to ever happen.

Though I would personally love a movie based on the Knightfall, Knights End & Knights Quest Storylines from the 90's.

^ I know they're not connected, but Nolan himself mentioned he wanted to translate other Batman villains into film, and by this, he means those NOT in the previous films, whether they're connected to his continuity or not. I want to see a new villain; seeing Scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins was a breath of fresh air, seeing as he gave them a spotlight despite the fact they're lesser known villains. Of course, the sequel had to include the more popular ones like Two Face and Joker, but the third should at least include one of the other villains. I'd like for Black Mask or Mad Hatter to be in the third one, alongside maybe a more famous one to rake in the dough for the studio.
