Thought this would be interesting.
I want people to rank how the 4 major sports (football, baseball, basketball and hockey) rank in the city you live in (or closest big city).
Now, this doesn't mean rank them int he order YOU like them. So if ou prefer baeball over football, but football is bigger, put football, cause this isn't about what YOU like.
So, as long as you live in Canada or the US, rank how the 4 sports rank in popularity in your area, and remember to put where you live (or cloest to), so we can compare to other cities.
Oh, if you live in a different country, just put the top 4 there, either your own countries leagues, or how popular american sports are, and again, put where you live.

For me (Toronto), it is...

Hockey (NHL)
Basketball (NBA)
Football (NFL/CFL)
Baseball (MLB)

I live in Bristol which is in the South West of England. Our top sports:

1. Football/Soccer (Bristol City are the best side, and my favoured team who are in the Coca Cola Championship which is one league below the Premier League, while Bristol Rovers are in Coca Cola League 1, one league below City.)
2. Rugby (Bristol is in England's top division known as the Guiness Premiership- most of our sports are sponsored by drink be it booze or soft drinks lol)
3. Cricket (Gloucestershire is very close to Bristol so it still counts lol)
4. TBH I don't really know if there are any other real mainstream sports that are well-supported in Bristol, I do know we have an American Football team called the Aztecs though :D

I always thought of NY, as more:

Baseball
Hockey
Football
Basketball.

I was surprised to see hockey at the top of your list.

Edit: Oh, I see why you didn't put football in, cause they play in NJ, but it's still a NY team, so you should count them in there tied with or under hockey.

Yea it may be different around other places in Michigan. But in the city I live in Football and Soccer pretty much run it. Hockey and Baseball don't come up as much.

nascar is the closest thing we have to pro sports in my little town.martinsville speedway is 10 miles away.the carolina hurricanes are 50 miles away, the redskins and panthers 4 hours away, the mlb nats and orioles about the same.
we have diehard sports fans here, but lately due to high unemployment here and the rising cost of everything, most of us have to watch it on tv.
