Wow. That's all I can say. WWE's storylines have all been FANTASTIC this year. You can trace back to the beginning, with Y2J/JBL, Finlay/JBL, Batista/HBK, etc... But really, around April, this really got amazing. It just seems wwe's booking is spot on lately. Yes, we know they are pushing young guys, creating new stars, etc, but there's more than that.

It seems that all the writers are puting more effort in. There's always been good storylines in wrestling, but usually, they were reserved for the top feuds. Now, though, almost every feud is getting good effort.

Top feuds like HBK/Y2J, instead of just a series of match run ins, etc, has been a personal storyline, with one of the best combinations of matches and sorylines ever. Without it being a top feud, it's still had an amazing storylines...
Then, you can look at the championship feuds as well... Other than the championship scramble a(because it's different feuds together), but in general, stuff like Punk/JBL, and Punk/Batista have all had a solid backstory as well. With Punk proving himself, and "standing up" to the big names, instead of just a generic "gimme title shot" match.

But again, hat I'm really impressed with, is that all the feuds have storylines, and not just the top two ones. Usually, it's rare to have the lower card and miodcard AND uppercard, all have good storylines at the same time... but now, in the micard, you have stuff like Hardy/MVP, which is uppermidcard, but still getting more than just competitive matches. They have gotten another very personal rivalry, similar to HBK/Y2J (but on a smaller scale), where, MVP has been in Hardy's personal life, and it's made you be drawn to it as well...

Other feuds like Priceless/Cryme Tyme arent too generic either... And whoc an forget Kane's storyline. This has been well written as well, and wheter you like Mysterio's mask thing or not, that doesn't dispute that they have given this great airtime, and drawn it out welll....

So I just wanted to point out how great it is wwe is giving us more than just matches throughout the whole card... Feel free to share your thoughts... Is this the best group of storylines and feuds wwe has had in 2 or 3 years?

I agree this year isn't over yet but this has really been better than 2006/7 in my view.. .I mean lets look at Jericho and HBK feud it started in March at Wrestlemania actually it started December 07 wheN Vince made Flair a rule whenever he losed a match he must retire.. he lost to HBK at WM and than that started that whole feud with jericho over he did it on purpose not being sorry about it and now the feud has forgotten about Flair and now started to turn on the "eye thing and the HBK's wife thing" its really great how they turn the tables and gives them a new reason to hate each other...

How could you forget about Edge vs Taker. Then again, that would have to be credited more to Edge himself than creative.

I do think that as a whole, this year has had better storylines than the pasts 2 or 3 years. The best storylines as those who get personal, and if you look back, in those years only HHH vs Flair, Edge vs Hardy and Edge vs Cena got personal, and those were the best feuds of those years.

most of WWE's storylines this year have been really good. and all of the feuds I've seen have been helpful to the guys in the feud, which means they got elevated, or didn't lose any credibility. It's pretty surprising though, with the monthly PPV's and less time to develop a feud. I like seeing feuds like HBK/Y2J, and even having the story to bridge one feud to another is good too.

Yup, its getting amazing. I think it has to do with the firing of that writer in the early 2008.

And one more thing.. WWE>TNA :shifty: sorry tna sheep.

I love the HBK/Y2J storyline is awesome. And its down to a decent run and build up. They have actually let this run over last few months and build on it. If they did that with a few more feuds/storyline that would own. But i realise the time between ppv's makes it hard to make long storyline/feuds. Id much rather they cut down on a couple of not so big ppv's and have decent length story-lines. Saying that I'm enjoying what they are doing lately and storline/feuds have been a lot better in the last few months than it has been for awhile.

There has been some very good storylines. Also the Ric Flair road to retirement angle, which was pretty damn good i thought too.

But there has some lackluster fueds and angles.

- HHH vs Edge was pretty much wasted.

- The IC/US belts haven't gain any prestige

- Smackdown still has Vickie as GM

- HHH vs khali at SummerSlam

- Milliondollar givaway/vince's dead storyline drop

ALL in all, the booking has been pretty good considering Injuries and whatnot. I wouldn't say "fantastic" But he has improved a bit from 2007. There really hasn't been one BIG angle to draw in new viewers this year though.

I agree i mean some have been drawn out but not completely boring either. I know the Taker/Edge feud was long but it has brought some great entertainment with it from WM 24 to SummerSlam. Also i do enjoy Cryme Time i think they are quality but should wrestle a little more than they do and they were wicked with the Cena/JBL feud as well. As for this Kane/Mysterio feud i thought it would be a silly one off but seems there is more than meets the eye.

The only true feuds I have enjoyed are.

Y2J/HBK
Cryme Tyme/Priceless

and that is really about it. Those feuds are really pulling something that the rest haven't. I'm hoping before the end of this year to see an HHH/Taker feud or a decent feud with Jeff.

The storylines are pretty good, I think the hollywood actors that WWE has been hiring is to blame for that. HBK/Jericho is definitely a great feud with an awesome story, I might even order Unforgiven just to see the Shawn vs Jericho match. It is the definition of what a great feud really is, it sucks the audience in and makes them want to order the PPV.

Overall, WWE's storylines this year have been good. But, nothing comes close to HBK vs Y2J
