New #1 Contender For The WHC

JBL won the right to challenge Punk for the World Title at SummerSlam. It was a handicap match as him and Jericho took on Punk. Whoever got the pin on the Jericho/JBL side, became the number 1 contender.

Are you happy that JBL won? Would Jericho of been a better choice?

Me, I think that JBL vs. CM Punk at SummerSlam would be a excellent match. Just as long as WWE don't screw this up. It's best planned to have Y2J vs. CM Punk at Unforgiven or at a later on PPV. Needs to build up the hype.

I'm a big Jericho fan, but I see this is only so Jericho can focus on HBK at SummerSlam, be it in a match or not.

I want JBL and Punk to have a clean finish though.

Jericho vs. Punk in the future would be awesome, at Unforgiven like Dre said.

I would have liked to see Punk vs Jericho (I love both guys... no homo, and it would be a damn good match), but I guess his feud with Shawn is not yet over.

As for JBL vs Punk, it could be good, but my guess is they're doing this match so that Punk can get a win (A CLEAN WIN!) over an "established" name such as JBL.

For what its worth, I think if Punk retains at SS, his next feud won't be with Jericho, but rather it will be with.... A returning Randy Orton.

I don't think Orton should be in the title scene upon his return, he should stay in the upper mid-card to develop a decent feud with someone, maybe Batista. Then he can join up with DiBiase and Rhodes and wtfpwn everyone.

I hope JBL wins i dont like the guy but Punk is not world title material at the moment maybe IC champ in the future but it was wrong of wwe to push him too high too quick and Y2J vs JBL would be a better match down the road.

I'm hoping for a clean win by pin or submission over JBL at SS. Id like to see Punk hold the title for a little bit longer yet get some credible clean wins over top stars before he loses it to whoever he drops it to next. I didn't really think Punk was ready to hold any of the top two main event titles yet, But he is doing a good job and its nice to see WWE taking a risk with the newer younger stars giving them a chance with the title instead of the no risk stars like Tista Cena Orton HHH. Don't get me wrong i love the four I've just mentioned but it makes a nice change to see a different wrestler hold a major strap. That being said i don't want see any old new star holding one coz IMO there isn't that many id say ready to hold a major title but a decent push for someone new wouldn't hurt now and again.
