I'm not so concerned about the attire. I'd settle for a personality change to one of being psychotic, not quite murderous, but just some one who legitimately enjoys hurting other people and will willingly go far out of his way to do so.

I agree with those saying the mask is redundant. Nice to see Kane getting something decent to do, but aside from the 'will he, won't he' factor of the bag, I think the mask thing will spoil it. Hearing voices (if that's what's happening) is good enough to make a decent storyline (As already pointed out, when they took his mask off everyone was like "huh? ...No burns?"(*) so lets not damage the character's back-story anymore)...
Anyone get the feeling WWE are heeding the often read calls by some on the net to "give him back the mask"?
(*Damn shame they couldn't have pulled off a Freddy Krueger type-a make-up job for Kane. Anyone imagine someone cuttin' promos, talkin' nasty shit looking like this?

um the mask would be part of a wig like the last time when he took it of in 03 he took the mask off with the hair proving its a wig. ^^
Also hopefully he gets his old dark red cloudly 97/98 entrance music.

I don't even think he needs to wear the mask all the time. He can still do his promos without the mask, but don the mask on his way to the ring.

And what would be the purpose of that? What would the explanation be from them as to why he took it off just to give promos?
As I said before the mask is symbolic. I guess if I could draw a comparison it would be with Samson and his hair. Samson drew his strength from his hair and when it was cut off he was weak.
It can work the same way for Kane in a manner of speaking.
He would be the same Kane without the mask, especially while giving interviews, but the mask signifies destruction, and when he puts it on, its like him tapping into the part of his mind that brings the destructor part of Kane out physically.
Kane as a character is clearly insane, and fixation on a particular object is not an uncommon affectation of the insane.
I dunno, I really like the Kane character and think he has a lot of dimensions that have yet to be filled in.
