Long story short, I've been watching WWE more than I usually do recently and yes the draft has done a lot so far but I was thinking to myself, WWE got powerhouses like Batista and Big Show, fan favourites like Cena and Jeff, guys with charisma like Y2J and HBK as well as Triple H (who deserves a class of his own imo) but there is no real great technical wrestlers apart from CM Punk but his gimmick is more focused on being straighedge than being a sorta "no gimmick needed" guy who loves to eat people up and can put on great matches.

Anyway, let's try out this lil 3 question thing:

Do you think WWE needs someone like Angle/Benoit?

If so then who (I didn't bother suggesting anybody 'cause I have very little indy knowledge but I'm guessing most will go for Bryan Danielson)

If your answer to the first question is yes, then what brand would you put them on (imo, ECW might be better off with a technical wrestler)?

Since when is Punk a great techincal wrestler?

The best technical wrestler is Shelton, but he has trouble working a pro style and gets lost in the ring.

He's always been a great technical wrestler. He only started with the whole kicking thing when he got to WWE... And William Regal is the best technical wrestler in WWE.

They dont need one at all. But that doesnt mean they can't have one. I think it would be great if they can get a real good technical wrestler, and actually have the fans care about him to have him in the main event.
But wwe is definately fine without one, just look at the last month of GREAT shows.
But ya, they shoul dtry to get one.
brian danielson would be good.
They should go on SD. ECW is too small, and if we're talking a main event technical guy, then SD is the place to start.

^ Correct a mundo. Thing is though, if Punk was allowed to work his ROH style then more hirings would be needed, simply to give him viable opponents.

I maintain that better matches will help ratings more than any storyline.. although consistently poor storylines (ala TNA) will create the reverse.

The answer to your question...is yes...and his name was Gunner Scott, but you can blame Mark Henry for throwing his ass in a body bag.

Albright/Gunner Scott is a beast, he's been so good on the indy circuit.

But yeah, I kinda miss the guy like a Benoit that was a badass in the ring, and didn't need to get over because of a character. As much as I'm a fan of Danielson, I really don't think he could be a success in WWE. He looks like Bob Backlund, and his style isn't that entertaining for the WWE crowd. He would be a great face, but I can't see him being taken seriously.

Well, I say you gotta have Regal in on it. Regal/Benoit Matches, no matter they were on Velocity, A PPV, or SD! it always stole the show, and had a great match. I think Finlay should drop Horny, feud with Regal, and that could be an awesome feud and matches. They're both technical wrestler, have a great brawling style. I would love to see them feud for a few months, and can be like a Benoit/Angle type match, as in wrestling quality. as for the brand, idk. I don't wanna see Regal go to ECW, so I think Finlay should be on RAW anyway. Then you can do it there. But either brand would benefit from having that great feud.

Of course the WWE need guys to have great matches but they have that, his name is Matt Hardy. He consistently has the best matches on SD each week just as Benoit did. If you are expecting 2 more Angle/Benoit type guys to come along, you're out of your effing mind. Those only come along so often. I dont give a fuck HOW GOOD you think Gunner Scott is, he's not as good as Benoit or Angle.

Another Kurt Angle??????????? If only, I wouldn't open the curtains to watch Beniot though, and not because of what he did, i always found him boring to watch in the ring and on the mic.

CM Punk is a great technical wrestler but its not in his WWE gimmick to portray that, Regal is a top class wrestler and Bryan Danielson is the best in America at the moment for many people!

I actually think the WWE have a taylor made replacement for Angle in Charlie Hass but he has been ruined so much over the last two years I think it will be difficult to get anyone to take him seriously again!

Ewwww Charlie Haas, why bring him into this thread?

Yes, I belive they do need another technical specialist. Punk may fill that gap now he's champion and Bryan Danielson worked a dark match for WWe not to long ago, hopefully he'll come onboard in the not to distant future

Why bring Hass into it?????????

Well he is brought into it because we are talking about technical wrestlers, and Hass is one of the best going around!

He may not have a gimmick to get over and he maybe booked terribly but at the end of the day he is still fantastically talented and would be a very valuable asset to the show, any of the WWE shows if he was given enough air time
