Ashley released, TNA not liking Joe?

After weeks of speculation, WWE has finally made the announcement via WWE.com:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Ashley Massaro as of July 09, 2008. WWE wishes Ashley the best in all future endeavors.

Also:

Outwardly, everyone is behind Samoa Joe's position as TNA World Heavyweight Champion, but there is some second-guessing going on behind the scenes due to his physical appearance.

Many are questioning his drawing ability due to his look, which is obviously not the traditional headlining physique. If he doesn't draw, some think that's the reason why.

Kevin Nash has gone on record saying that it just takes time for the entire audience to get used to seeing such a new face as the champion, and believes Joe is deserving of his title run.

Joe is definately deserving of the title. hes been in TNA longer than most people and if he didnt get the title i couldve seen him being like Christian and switching companies. So it is a good move by TNA and he should drop it to Booker.

I kind of understand TNA's reasoning, but it's kind of ridiculous looking at their roster of having a Shark, a Curry Man, a black Randy Savage impersonator, and other stuff in their undercard that look just as wacky as having a bigger guy as champ.

I've never liked Joe very much, thought he was a little overrated. Also watching him wrestle is somewhat odd to me because of his physique. But to say he doesn't draw because of that is pretty stupid. Nice of Nash to stick up for him though.

Joe is an ok wrestler but he is still slightly overrated. Nice of Nash to stick up for Joe and Good work for WWE to get rid of Ashely, at that time Ashely didn't look as good as before. Plus she can't wrestle.

You know, sometimes I just don't believe some of these little "rumors". If TNA didn't think Samoa Joe could draw, they would have never given him the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. If TNA didn't think Joe could draw, they would have never had Joe beat their biggest star in terms of drawing power, Kurt Angle. Samoa Joe is waaay over with the fans, and has been a very successful champion even if the ratings have been down slightly, it isn't Joe's fault. The guy has made the most of his Title run, and he busted his ass for 3 years to finally get a run at the top. Btw, if this news actually is true, then I have to say that Kevin Nash is awesome and even though we can all bash him for what he does in the ring, at least he is supporting Joe and at least he sees the incredible talent that Samoa Joe has
