No. I think that the talking time in WWE, maybe with the exception of Vince Mcmahon, is fairly done.

You need to talk and be able to put storylines over by talking, and more times than not, a VIP Lounge or a Highlight Reel is far more exciting than a midcard match.

Not too much talking, just not enough talking that's worth listening to. Instead of something like what Brother Ray would do (call him washed up all you want, he's still a promo GOD), we get Finlay and Hornswoggle. They're starting to turn it around by giving Cena some actual dialogue rather than "You can do it if you use enough lubricant!" inspirational crap, but they still need to eliminate more nonsense.

The talking is pretty interesting.. and without the "talking" the wrestling matches would be boring because they would have no reason behind them. Yeah and you need to talk to have storylines.

So without the talking wrestling matches = pointless.

Not really.

There was less talking in the 80's and it was more enjoyable. They had just a few short "trash talk" segments but fuck, nowadays it's more talking, less fighting.

I don't give a shit about the soap opera crap, just break some fucking skulls open.

Yup that's exactly what it is. I mean most of the talking is pointless. And yes Brother Ray is probably the best heel on the mic today.

No, there isn't too much talking imo. I never watched wrestling in the 80's, but I think the balance is good now. Promos = hype for feuds.

I guess you weren't a fan of the attitude era

IMO the balance is perfect right now.

I agree that they need to take the pointless crap out and give it to either people with good established mic skills in feuds or to try and see if anyone new can generate something from the crowd while on the mic.

If anything you can cut down entrances and useless segments in the undercard and make matches longer.

The whole point of the weekly shows is to make you want to buy the PPV. That's where you get your wrestling at. Sure they throw us some bones every once and a while and we actually get to see a great match or a title change on free tv, but all in all, they want you to buy the PPV. So no, there isn't too much talking. Some people just haven't accepted the change that has happened in the last 20 years in that the BIG SHOWS aren't on free TV anymore.

i know sometimes i get bored listening to Vince talk about the show. he tries to sell it too much. in the 80s no one really talked like they do now. but back then it was strictly wrestling and no talking. all action back then.
