Y'all remember that thing last year where we were suggesting music for each other and shit? This is my revamp. I thought the formula needed a tweaking to really work, be cohesive and ask for pretty much as little from people as possible. So here's my new pitch...
The concept
Members will "put each other on" to new music by way of suggesting songs that they like. Ideally, a song that's at least a bit on the obscure side. The point is just to expose each other to different music that may not be in our usual scope of consumption.
However, in this version, rather than exchanging songs with specific members - you'll all send the songs to me, I'll compile them onto a Spotify playlist, and then share the playlist publicly for everyone to check out and leave feedback on.
This way, no one's obligated to really do anything beyond contribute a song. If folks wants to listen to it, give their takes and talk about what song they contributed and why... that's just a plus really. At the very least, I'll give my thoughts about the playlist.
The goal right now is to do a playlist every two weeks. So we'll start there and see how it goes.
How to participate
- Choose any song (that is on Spotify).
- Send it to me in a private message. Specify if you want a particular version of a song.
- Listen to the playlist when I post it in this thread if you ain't no bitch.
- Discuss.
