I thought this section needed a little something something, so I thought of creating debatable questions.

Question #1--- Do you believe in the death penalty?

Singapore has strict death penalties for drug trafficking, murder, and kidnap. This has led to many controvesies and arguments with other countries. I stand by the decision to impose the death penalty as it prevents overcrowding the prisons and I see no point in keeping a person alive when he is a liability to society.

Honestly, I think the death penalty should only be applied in cases of blatant conspired murder (1st degree murder here in the USA), and anything other than that should be looked at case by case.

If someone bullies another person (and this can go for anything, not just school kids (i.e. abused wives/children)) to the point where he just snaps and kills them (on the spot), I don't think he should get he death penalty since someone else caused his psychological behaviors.

^^^Agreed. It should definitely exist, but there should be somewhat limitations and only be used in situational and usually extreme cases. Good thread idea, btw.

I personally do beleive in the death penalty but only for something extreme like killing people. If someone traffics drugs taht definately shouldn't be a death penalty

if a man rapes a child he should have his tally-whacker sawed off with a rusty bow-saw.

If you don't use the death penalty for drug trafficking and kidnap, then putting them in prison for life would taker a toll on the country's economy since they have to pay for keeping him alive. It might even lead to overcrowding in the prisons.

If we have the death penalty, it will implie the eye for an eye quote, if you understand what I am talkin bout. I feel death gives someone and easy way out, and that life in prison is alot more of a punishment then death, unless you put them on death row for a date set, maybe 20 years and then death. It may also push the question about is it unfair to kill people who kill in cold blood without a reason, and not those who kill in cold blood with a reason like war and all of that. Also should those who help take part in the death of a person, maybe the person who planned it out, but didn't take place.

I gatz more, but shit I gots to bounce.

I think the death penalty is good, but its not being used effectively in the US. Quite frankly it takes a long time before someone can be sentenced to death and actually die.

There is talk of to many crimes and overcrowded prisons, but they can solve this by expediting the process of the death penalty quicker. Not likely to happen ever.

^^^ It's also a way to prevent overcrowding and a deterrent for murderers. Find a better reason before you come back.

Here's another take on my view on this. I think that the Death Penalty is great...FOR CERTAIN SITUATIONS. If there's a murderer...use the death penalty...there's a guy in Kansas that was a serial killer (BTK) who will never get the Death Penalty because it wasn't allowed in Kansas until after he commited the last murder...so he has life in prison. That's what pisses me off here. But yeah, anything related w/ drugs, rape, kidnap...shouldn't be reasons for using the Death Penalty. If you take someones life, you don't deserve life anymore.

^That's pretty much what I'm saying, if you take a life, you don't deserve to have one of your own anymore.
