Lately I've been on YouTube and seen people debate and criticize The Demon King Gimmick. Some people say it's so cool they want to see it face Undertaker, Kane, Sting, etc. Then you have some call it "Weird", "g@y", say it's "a "Boogeyman Rip-off", etc.

Personally to me I feel in this era in time comparing to all other gimmicks of this generation. It is flat out Gold! You really don't have other gimmicks with this much effort.

But If you compare it to a persona or gimmick like The Undertaker, Kane, Mankind, and Sting. Those gimmicks pretty much stomps. Because they have more effort in their origins and gimmicks than they do in their appearence. When you compare the Demon King to them, they make the Demon King gimmick look like something out of a comic.(Even tho Sting based his gimmick after crow)

That is what I feel... What do you feel about The Demon King?

It's something I feel as though they could try to flesh out more in the right way again. They tried to get at it again with his Bray feud, but that got too hoky and hurt the character and we haven't seen it for a while. They had the right idea before he got injured of his alter-ego.

I don't see the gimmick as the same as Undertaker or Kane. In kayfabe Finn isn't actually a Demon. He just uses the gimmick in big ppv fights. That's why I really like it. He uses it to be intimidating and to play mind games.

The "demon" gimmick would work if they, WWE, would do something interesting with it. I always thought it would be interesting to have Finn presented as two people, one of good, regular Finn, and one of evil, Demon Finn, and when he becomes "the demon" he would lose all the matches, unless it would fit the story, because when Finn debuted the bodypaint and everything as "the demon" in NJPW, he lost to his best friend and former tag partner Ryusuke Taguchi, and had to leave NJPW as part of their deal. I think that would be a nice homage to Finn's NJPW career, and it tells the story that Evil never conquers Good.

In reality, the bodypaint stuff was pretty cool, but me personally I wouldn't want to him as "The Demon" due to the history behind it.

Finn Balor is just not sinister enough to pull off a demonic persona. Hes an Irish bloke under 6ft with his clean pretty boy hair cut and rock hard chiseled abs. I think they should explore more into the idea of the moreinclusive Balor Club character and how it ties in with LGBTQ. Having a straight white Male wrestling on behalf of cultural, racial, and sexual diversity would just be funny to me.

I'm iffy on it. I like the idea of it, but the execution is absolutely awful. I like the idea of badass war paint, that's why I really like Finn's NJPW paint usage. The problem I have with it as they portray it like some sort of split personality/actual demon, and that's just stupid. It's not like Kane or Undertaker either, where you can accept some supernatural being because Finn isn't supernatural, just supernatural once a year, and that's dumb

Finn Balor has a ready made story and character arc. He never lost his Universal Title. He has the strongest motivation in WWE. They should tell the story of a him crawling his way back to the top to reclaim the prize he never lost. It's perfect. It's Gladiator.

They have done a bad job booking Finn since his return.

Doing a Jackal and Hyde story with him and the demon is dumb in my opinion.

There are people who say Finn should always be The Demon King no split personality. Then their some who disagree. Personally IDK... It'll be awesome to see something like this on a regular. But Knowing Vince trying to keep Roman on the Top 24/7, it'll piss me off extremely to see something so great like this go to waste.

I would say it would be a terrible idea to have him be the Demon King all the time. It's like having Christmas every month

I mean, not every PPV, bit maybe like about five a year, the big ones. Or when the storyline calls for mind games/extra agression.

Yeah that could work. You just got to get the right balance. You got to get the right amount of chocolate nesquik in the milk.

And above all else, it is easily marketable. Just have him explain the symbolism of it, like his first PPV against Seth, sure, add a little creepyness and mind games, but treat it as what he uses for a big fight.

But how would they solve the split personality problem?

I think Finn without the demon character is something they should work on more. I can't tell you anything about Balor in WWE in the last two years that is interesting. I don't think the demon gimmick is good enough to save him.

You said they were doing a Jekyl and Hyde with him and the demon that equivalent to split personality. How would they solve that?
