No, I'm not talking about Orton himself. I'm talking about his finisher.

The RKO. A move that has taken down many men. A move that was being pushed as the next unstoppable move.

Didn't take down Cena?

It seems to me that his finisher now has lost some cred. Which is disappointing because that move is going to be the next Pedigree.

Opinions?

I don't think so. Its not like he hit the RKO and went for the cover right away. He hit the RKO, sold a knee injury for about a 5 or 6 count, then crawled over to Cena for a two count.

They do stuff like this all the time.

It like when the ref is knocked out and JR counts to ten. The the ref recovers and there is a kickout at 2.5

I had a feeling the Cena would have kicked out of the RKO considering that he has the unstoppable streak of holding the WWE title. As for the RKO it self, I don’t think it lost any steam because as CenaMark54 said, Orton went for the cover after a good 6-8 seconds.

I still consider the RKO the best finisher today and I hope that it does become something like the next Pedigree.

I think that the RKO is a great finisher. I mean like you said everyone has fallen to it. There was the time lost before Orton covered Cena but even if there wasnt that little window there everyone has Cena kick out of alot of finishers and i dont think they would have put too much emphasis on that.

Everyone should take, the kicking out of finishers with a grain of salt. In a main event match, it will add character to the match if a finisher is kicked out of, at the right times. Afterall it is just a move, and it shouldn't be an automatic that it gets a pin. In a squash match, well yes, but on PPV I don't think so.

Anyway, I'm not a huge RKO fan. Its ok, but it's been used in many forms one way or another over the years. I don't exactly think he should change his finisher, because it suits Orton, I just don't like it that much.

^^i meant a post containing opinions. the guy already answered the question and cleared off everything and people kept posting their ideas. its cool but, i just wanted to notify them about the post incase they skipped reading it.

also, "i dont know why you people are still posting after that..." = kind of a complement to the post..its not like i'd close the thread or something.

Yeah I guess the first response by CenaMark makes the most sense. I do recall the pause after he hit it. It just seemed a little off that Cena was able to stand right back up after kicking out and deliver the F-U.

But, as angryphilip said... Cena is superman.

Point proven wrong. We could probably close this.

The biggest no sell of the RKo was Angle at Mania 22. He got RKOed, kicked out then immediately got up, ran to the turnbuckle and superplexed Orton.

If the RKo can remain credible after that, it can withstand anything.

Also, look where the pedigree is today after Warrior completely no sold it at Wrestlemania then went on to squash HHH. You would be surprised how quickly these things are forgotten with the proper build.
