Just hours after United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter threw down the verbal gauntlet – using WWE.com as a means to challenge Matt Hardy to a boxing match in Madison Square Garden at next week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event – Hardy agreed to lace up the gloves.



“If he wants to box, we’ll box,†Matt told WWE.com over the phone, minutes after he watched the video challenge on the Web site. “Even if I’m out of my element, I will do whatever I can to come out on top. I’ll lay it all out on the line, because I always give one hundred percent at everything. As I always say, I won’t quit and I will not die.â€

why dont they just have a fight at summerslam for US championship and be done with it..

They are having the match at Summerslam lol! Vickymania, WWE should really love you, because you buy all of their storylines. Remember, Hardy said he would beat MVP in any competition, so this is just another one before their wrestling slobber knocker, probably with Matt saying he competed in all the matches MVP proposed and that is his time to choose a match, choosing a TLC match.

am sure they'll have the match at summerslam,its just that it hasn't been announced yet..but yeah,TLC match will be good for the title..hardy'san expert on that..MVP might get another heart attack in that match..lol

i remember a couple of years back when the divas were going to do a boxing match but some committee said no, so they had to use those BIG boxing gloves, hopefully this isn't the same case

MVP and HARDY is lot better than watchin Divas fighting boxing..lol..they should only concentrate on bra and panties matches..think hardy should win this one as well as he's won the previous two challenges

His heart condition is not made up, he really has it, but it's not life threatening because they found it so early...he's going to be find cause they did some type of therapy backstage at GAB, the Hardy/MVP at GAB was almost cancelled cause of the condition, but MVP insisted on going out and wrestling.

NEW YORK – Montel Vontavious Porter was the one who challenged Matt Hardy to a Boxing Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but it will not be the United States Champion who laces up the gloves against Hardy at Madison Square Garden. Instead, MVP has found a more than suitable replacement: boxing legend Evander Holyfield.

While sources say the United States Champion has been cleared by doctors to return to the ring after learning of a heart ailment last week, he will step aside and let one of the biggest stars in boxing history take his place on Saturday Night’s Main Event. Despite the questionable circumstances, no one can deny that MVP has found quite a replacement in “The Real Deal.â€￾

At age 44, Holyfield is currently vying to win boxing’s Heavyweight Championship for an unprecedented fifth time; he will get the chance to do so on Oct. 13 in Moscow when he fights Sultan Ibragimov for the WBO Heavyweight Title. Win or lose there, Holyfield’s already the only man to do it four times, and the Atlanta native brings an impressive list of accomplishments into the bout, from Olympic medals to World Titles to his own boxing video game.


its not a bad idea to have an off beat match held in WWE,but it should be one-off match maybe between 4 -5 months..MVP and MATT are already crowd-pullers,thts why i think this challenge thing was taken a bit too far..i do see MATT winning this one also and challenge MVP for title at summerslam,which in all respect,will definately happen..but i dont see WWE going the WCW way..Vince is too smart for that..

point is,that MVP cahellenged MATT when he was supposed to have some health issues..that leaves us guessing,was that a fake one two..the timing of this Wellness Programme by WWE has arised exactly after Benoit Matter and The Congress pressuring WWE for the anti-dope stuff reports..

whatever it is,i hope the match between MVP and MATT is a good one to watch..and it should continue till summerslam for US championship..
