Worst Year in the History of the WWE

Tough one, I want to just go and say 2006 because of it was a pretty bad time for WWE in terms of star power, I think it'd be a sure year if Triple H got injurred sooner. DX carried 2006 hands down, without DX it would of been complete garbage. The Edge/Cena rivalry was also good, but I think all the negative comments on the 'return of ECW' give it away for me. I say 2006.

Im gonna think a little differently on this one im going with 2003. End of Rock-Austin feuds. Last year Rock and Austin were apart of the main roster. Austin's last match at wrestlemania. This year saw Brock Lesnar winning the Royal Rumble, and eventually winning the WWE Title at WM, only to exit WWE a year later. This is also the year that HHH plow through former WCW talent such as Booker T, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, and Goldberg and in the process hold the belt from the end of 02 until september 03, only to regain it a couple of months later in December. Whenever it seemed as if hes lose he didnt. Second longest reign of the World heavyweight Championship in WWE history.

No way...94 -95 was really bad. WWE is looking great now compared to then. Mabel, i repeat Mabel won the King of the Ring for christ sakes. Savio Vega and Marc Mero were top stars. It was bad.

Yeah, I was actually thinking 1995 or 2006 and couldn't decide.

80's were all cool it was the early stage and Hogan Dominated the 80's went pretty cool for the Wwe.
As for the worst year Of Course the Answer is very simple.
1993,1994,1995,1996 all very very Bad years not only for Wwe but for all of Proffesional Wrestling, 1996 to be the Worst when wCw introduced nWo and there was an indication to the Monday Night Wars.
And in the 2000's I would say 2003 and 2005 were very dull and un-intresting very slow paced year 2005 and 2003.

Also note, I meant the title to be between 2002-2007, hence referring to it as "WWE", but yeah I guess we can include them all even though the topic doesn't state the WWF.

Oh, 04-05. JBL's reign on SD was really bad i though. Great worker, but his main events sucked bc he wasnt built up enough. Batista getting pushed (yawn)

u can never judge...... unless u took a pen, wrote down ur own ratings to every show during that year, look at the average of every year and post the higher.

1995, the year i gave up on wrestling.

Diesel was WWF Champion for 11 months of the year, i like Nash but he held the belt for far too long.

Lawrence Taylor was in the main event of WrestleMania XI.

Alundra Blayze as Womens Champion.

Bam Bam Bigelow as a babyface with sparklers on his ring gear.

Sid was pushed as top heel.

Mantaur, Tecno Team 2000, Barry Horowitz, The Blu Brothers, Rad Radford, Henry Godwinn, Savio Vega, Waylon Mercy, Jean Pierre Laffitte,Dean Douglas, Ahmed Johnson, Skip and Sunny,Isaac Yankem DDS, Dok Hendrix, Hunter Hearst Helmsley......

Mabel won the KotR.

Mabel main evented SummerSlam.

Stephanie Wiend.

I could go on..................

Plus points to 1995?

Bret Hart had some damn good matchs with Jean Pierre Lafitte and Hakushi. Hakushi Vs The 1-2-3 Kid at SummerSlam was pretty damn good.

Razor/Shawn 2 at SummerSlam.

That was about it.

1997 (Montereal screw job)
2003 (Goldberg sucking ass never losing, only to his shadow)

2006 was bad, real bad, really bad. Cena as champion pretty much 11 out of 12 months was stupid. His rivalry with Edge was great though, DX was great, other then that...nope not to much good things to say about 06 besides ONS2 and WM23

I was going to say 2003 because of Goldburg and Brock Lesner leaving the WWE but reading the post of the history in 1995... I think i change my mind lol

Personally i think 2006 was a "better than average" year for the WWE. Ill go as far as to say it was a good year. I'll admit the year ended on a bad note, but the first 9 months were great

2006

- Edge Emerges as a star beating John Cena
- Angle vs Taker (top match of the year)
- Rey Mysterio wins RR and does to WM (first cruiser ever)
- Wrestlemania 22 was a big sucess (HHH vs Cena / Foley vs Edge + more)
- King Booker (funny as hell)
- Angle vs Orton mini fued
- DX returns
-DX/Mcmahons...went a little long but very entertaining.
- RVD wins championship
-ECW Returns + ONS was huge
- Rated RKO is formed
-Unforegiven was a great PPV
-Summerslam was solid
- Saturday Night Main event returned
-Stone Cold returned for a bit.
- Finlay has classic matches with Beniot, Regal, and many more
-Jeff Hardy vs Johnny nitro (Best IC fued in years)
-MVP & Kennedy emerge as top heels of SD
- CM PUnk Debuts
- Taker vs Kennedy Fued
- Extreme Elimination chamber (pretty good match, but it could have been better)

CONS

D2D Sucked
Survivor Series was subpar
Cyber Sunday was lame
Batista returned
Doghouse

I dont see how you base the whole year off hte last 2-3 months. Or 1-2 champs you didnt like (Cena/Batista/Mysterio)
