Agree. 5 felt like a filler season with Lumen. What a shitty make. In season 6 we got an update on Arthur's family and a re-appearance from Brian.

I just really dug 6. The religion part was cool with dexter figuring out what he believed in and Colin Hanks was the best guest star outside of Lithgow.

oh and call me a fag but of all the terrible Deb love angles, the Quinn relationship was the best. Yea throw in the trinity son twist and it was a dope ass season for sure

and the final season being last is self explanatory. I felt like Cole:

season 5 was brutal. It was like the one shitty season that could act as a standalone from the rest of the series. It didn't feel connected to anything else happening on the show. it was like, well, here's this shitty Lumen storyline. she was trapped in a barrel and dexter wants to fuck her so we're shoving it down your throat
