Gundam was awesome, I kinda forgot about it tbh, but I LOVED it as a kid. I still voted DBZ here bc it was the better show, but I had to think about this more than I expected.

I'm gonna go into the hard sell and demand a lot of people voting on this particular subject actually watch Mobile Suit Gundam and Zeta Gundam because I'd be lying if I said neither of those are all-time great animes.

Sure, Dragon Ball Z is DBZ, but Mobile Suit Gundam literally invented the mecha genre and gave an incredibly serious anime about war.

Literally HALF the human population dies in Mobile Suit Gundam, HALF!!! In one scene, the Principality of Zeon drops an entire space colony on Australia.

Perhaps the greatest scene in the original series, is when Degwin Zabi, the sovereign of the Principality of Zeon, which through most of the series have been painted as the villains in all this, compares his OWN SON, Ghiren Zabi, to ADOLF HITLER... AND HE ISN'T EXAGGERATING.




Also DBZ's opening ain't got shit to the American Zeta Gundam opening. Fight me.

Never liked Rock The Dragon, even with that theme Zeta's is better. It has a more powerful, mysterious, and "epic" feel to the entire thing. You should watch the opening theme to see what I mean.

I'm not sure I can trust your taste then if you didn't like Rock The Dragon. shit always got me super hyped as a kid when the show was coming on. It's why I'm sad the Blu-Rays I got of the series doesn't have it. Doesn't matter much since I only got to hear the theme once but still haha. Maybe once I'm done watching stuff I'll take a listen..

I swear if I don't watch these Gundam Shows I'm going to arrest myself and throw away the key. I should of watched it sooner as a kid because my friend who I was very close with, we would go everywhere, watch everything together and DBZ, Pokemon and sometimes Gundam Wing was some of the things we watched together. I remember he had the figures and I was damn these Zords[because I had no clue what they were at the time] are awesome. I was collecting the Irvin and Bandai DBZ Figures which I have today and those were expensive, so I can only imagine what he has in his collection since I left the neighborhood in 2001 being there 4 years. I talk about what did or did not bring me to the Gates of Anime, and Ronin Warriors was that Show.

DBZ kept me inside from the moment it came out and I'm talking about the Ocean Dub before Funimation got control of it and blew up like crazy. I had the figures like I said and I was DBZ then and even more so now. I remember printing out pics on my Desktop Computer of Characters from DBZ that wouldn't even debut till years later. Shoot I had a Broly and Great Saiyaman figures before I knew who they were. You know the fuel to the Fire is still high for DBZ and I wonder if it's time I do a DB Watchthrough through Z.
