It was unlucky and I don't think the keeper did too much wrong I still place the blame with the defenders for allowing the ball to bounce cleanly. I liked that Howard didn't really celebrate the goal at all since it happened to a fellow keeper and he will know that he had a fair bit of luck for it to go in.

Strong rumours around that Liverpool are signing Darren Bent.

What that means with regards to Andy Carroll and maybe even Suarez is anyones guess.

I've heard that rumour too and I really don't understand the need to sign Bent. Suarez is in good form but is obviously banned for 8 games, which means it's time for Carroll to step it up. Maxi Rodriquez has scored just about everytime he has started a game this season, so buying Bent will push him even further down the pecking order when it's not necessary. Even Kuyt is capable of playing behind the striker, so it's just a buy I don't think they need.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is considering a sensational move for unsettled Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is planning a £12m double bid for Blackburn's Chris Samba and winger Junior Hoilett, while defender Vedran Corluka looks like being sold to West Ham.

Inter Milan will try to use Wesley Sneijder as a makeweight in a deal for outcast Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech expects to finalise terms on a new contract with the Stamford Bridge club soon, which will tie him to the club until 2017.

Few stuff I found on BBC page.

I was thinking maybe they'll look to sell Suarez abroad now the racism stuff has come out?

Cant see it sitting too well with Liverpools black players that he's said that stuff, and they seem to be more tolerant of it in Italy and Spain. Dont think they'd cash in on Carroll just yet, but Bellamy is in good form too so you never know.

As an Arsenal fan, I hope those dont happen.

We need Samba, and I really like Hoilett.

With the Suarez case was anyone else surprised that he was banned for eight games even though there is no footage of him saying it and the other player admitted to provoking him yet John Terry hasn't been punished even though he is clearly caught on camera saying it and he is facing criminal charges.

For me I don't think that it is fair at all, Terry clearly said it and is facing criminal charges yet he is somehow free to play. If Suarez got 8 games for what he said then surely Terry is gone for at least a dozen games.

From what I've read, Troy, he said "negro" but not in a demeaning way. Apparently it means something else in Spanish or from where he's from or whatever, but being suspended for 8 matches seems pretty steep. Suarez was deemed to have provided unreliable evidence, whereas the evidence Evra gave was presented correctly and in a better manner, so maybe that played on the decision.

I totally forgot about Bellamy. That adds to my point further that they don't need Bent. Once Carroll starts firing and Suarez returns from his suspension, Liverpool should be fine. As I said, Maxi Rodriquez scores nearly every time he starts, Kuyt can play behind the striker and of course Bellamy is in good form.

They definitely won't be selling Suarez, no chance. The entire team apparently wore shirts in support of Suarez, and in saying that I don't think they really have many black players in the team anyway. I can think of Johnson off the top of my head.

I'm an Arsenal fan too and from my point of view we definitely don't need Samba. Koscielny has been brilliant this season, Vermaelen has been top class ever since he arrived, and Mertesacker has begun to show potential but still needs to get used to the pace of the Premier League. After them we have Djourou who isn't up to scratch, Squillaci who is close to being sold in this window or at the end of the season, and Miquel who's still young. There may be a hole in there, but I don't think we NEED Samba, nor would he wanna join a team who no longer has defensive issues in the middle. He'd wanna play frequently instead of warming the bench.

As for Hoilett, I really have no idea if he's any good or not, but I assume he is if I have seen his name linked away from the club for a little while now. He's only 21 and he would likely flourish under a manager renowned for bringing out the best in young talent, but I just think we need a top class signing on the wing rather then another talented youngster. Arshavin won't be around much longer as he has been very disappointing for a while now, Miyaichi & Oxlade-Chamberlain are still quite young and need to gradually build up experience, and Walcott is too inconsistent and apparently is demanding too high of a wage that the club rightfully is refusing to meet. Gervinho is our best winger, yet this is his first season in the Premier League, and the main criticism I have of him is his decision-making when he gets near the goal. We have Benayoun and Rosicky who can play there, but a permanent world class winger is required, not Hoilett.

Welcome to January the month for crazy football rumours, largely made up by the media to make this dumb transfer window seem more interesting than it actually is. LOL.

In the case of the racism issue Troy, one key difference is that the Terry case is being dealt with by the police, not the FA, as there was a complaint made by a member of the public, so you would expect the punishment if Terry is found guilty to be different. Also Terry has denayed all along that he used racial abuse, just that he repeated the word when asked if he had said, which seems a bit unlikely to me, but there you go. Anyway I tend to think Suerez has been a bit harshly dealt with, but than again this is a big issue and the FA need to be seen to be sending a massege.

Yeah I don't really believe that Terry was just repeating it, no-one in their right mind would actually say the word they would just say " No I didn't say it" or more likely on the football pitch "Fuck off". I still think that FA shouldn't wait and they should do an internal investigation as well.

Who do you think has the best chance of signing Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield? He has had a great season so far, scored 25 goals in the season including 5 in his last game, and he is still young at 21. Would surely be picked up by a PL team this year.

I guess if they consider him to be a prime talent then a top four club might come in for him, epsically with his age, but then again with him in league one they might see it as a bit of a gamble. Therefore I think a mid-range club like Everton or Stoke might get him. Spurs might be a possibility as if EA returns to City they might start to look a bit light up front.

Some great results overnight in the FA Cup.

However the biggest upset was Swindon defeating Wigan and MK Dons drawing with QPR.

Tonight should produce heavily with City vs. United which I'll stay up late to watch. Really hoping United can get the victory here but it's a real worry after losing to Newcastle 3-0

Great story with Henry coming off the bench last night and scoring the winner.
Only down side is we now face them in the next round, well thats our cup dream over for another season, unless they put out the reserves and Wenger decides to play in goal for the night LOL.
