Rooting

Anyone know about rooting phones.

I have the Original Samsung Epic which is stuck on the Android 2.2 I'm about to root it to get the 2.3 version I've never rooted a phone even though I'm pretty tech savy any advice before I try this shtuff.

Well I'm now in the process of rooting I'll post results lol.

It's easy once you get it done. I did it with my droid x just so I could tether with my pc, lots of great options with a rooted phone.

I've got the root program on and backed up everything now I'm trying to do the flash with the new os had an issue my laptop doesn't like my cellphone but my desktop does so I switched over will begin the process in a few minutes.

Had a moment of sheer horror my PC rebooted just before the flashing of my phones OS. That shit was scary phone turned all black rebooted it after a minute.
