Yushin Okami vs. Svetlozar Savov added to World Series of Fighting 9 in Las Vegas

Yushin Okami‘s World Series of Fighting debut will take place later this month, as he’s been added to the company’s March 29 event in Las Vegas.

MMAjunkie today confirmed with World Series of Fighting officials that Okami (29-8) will face Svetlozar Savov (12-4) at World Series of Fighting 9 on Match 29 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. MMAFighting.com first reported the matchup.

Okami vs. Savov takes place on the evening’s NBC Sports Network-televised main card and follows the evenings MMAjunkie.com-streamed preliminary card.

Japanese middleweight Okami fights for the first time under the World Series of Fighting banner after signing with the promotion following his surprising release from the UFC late last year.

Meanwhile, Savov is a 25-year-old Bulgarian product who fought mist recently in October 2012. Savov is 3-1 in his past four overall fights, and 11 of his 12 career wins have come by way of a finish, including eight victories by submission.

With the addition to the card, the World Series of Fighting 9 lineup now includes:

MAIN CARD

Champ Steve Carl vs. Rousimar Palhares – for welterweight title
Marlon Moraes vs. Josh Rettinghouse – for inaugural bantamweight title
Yushin Okami vs. Svetlozar Savov
