According to a new report by The Wrestling Observer, WWE is attempting to crack down on the amount of live event footage which is taken by fans and posted on sites like YouTube.

The main obstacle for WWE is that security is not allowed to take cell phones away from fans, which allows them to shoot photos and video which eventually ends up on the internet.

WWE was said to have taken an aggressive approach to remove tons of video footage from last week's live event in Montreal.

Fucking ridiculous they're getting free publicity. Say you were a fan and looked up some people having a good time at a house show you'd be more likely to go.

"I love my music being pirated all over the internet, that brings in more fans to live shows"
-Kid Rock.

"WWE officials are really pushing social media because it's free publicity for the company"
-Dirtsheets when the Twitter usage started.

If you can't figure it out, 2+2=4 WWE. Seabs is right.

If it wasn't for "piracy", 4 million+ (and another like 10 million if you combined all of them) people wouldn't have seen CM Punk's shoot on YouTube, which brought back many many old fans and gained new ones.
