WWE continues to shift power backstage from Vince McMahon to Triple H and his wife, Stephanie McMahon-LeVesque. Vince has handed over many of the creative decisions he used to make over to Triple H. One source within the WWE writing team called Triple H the "DeFacto Vince" but added that "Vince is hands-on in control of WrestleMania, and he's not letting anyone else have a say in the matter."

This also relates to why so much of the WrestleMania card remains up in the air. A WWE insider said the following: "Vince keeps changing his mind. He's just not sold on anything but the top matches."

The insider pointed to the John Laurinaitis vs. Teddy Long feud as evidence of WWE's lack of depth.

"In any other era, would these two have so much air time during WrestleMania season?"

I dunno. The Stooges were still well alive back in 1999-2000 and they were worth even less than Teddy and Johnny.
