BACKSTORY: The entire industry was in a boom period. AEW was thriving, Impact was producing fine alternate content, more eyes were on Japan, and WWE was in a solid place. The rumored sale with Endeavor goes through and Vince McMahon's only involvement was getting the deal signed, getting his money, and being able to walk away into the sunset financially secured. Triple H is steering the ship in this new generation's direction and in comes the WWE Draft for a nice reset. Prior to the Backlash event, the WWE held the annual Draft. In the week leading up to it, it was announced the company would return General Managers. To assist in the promotion of UpUp DownDown, Xavier Woods gets announced as the Raw GM and Tyler Breeze for SmackDown.
