ECW on SyFy 15th September 2009​ No opening video package. No opening commentary. An arena waits in silence as the tension builds. Then, TIME TO PLAY THE GAME Despite not being an ECW Superstar, the arrival of Triple H, The King of Kings, heralds a humongous reaction from the crowd. Without Shawn Michaels, the member of D-Generation X walks onto the stage, receiving another round of cheers, and he does his usual pose on the top of the ramp before heading down to the ring. The commentary team make note that Shawn Michaels is in the back, where Charlie Haas is expected to stay, and Matt Striker is the one to notice that Triple H has used his own entrance music, rather than his tag teams, echoing the fact that this match is purely about Triple H and Shelton Benjamin. Once Triple H wraps up his entrance with the iconic spraying of the water, he turns to the stage, waiting for his opponent – game face on tonight. Then, the arrival of one half of the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions occurs, bringing out The Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin to a very loud pop. As with Triple H electing to use his singles theme, Benjamin has done the same as the sound of Ain’t No Stoppin’ Me Now flows throughout the arena. Benjamin locks eyes with Triple H from the top of the ramp, and he walks down the ramp. The commentary team does their job in hyping up this match, stating this isn’t about the WWE Tag Team Championships, but it’s about Benjamin proving he STILL has Triple H’s number, and The Game proving he can beat The Gold Standard – perhaps the most technically gifted athlete in all of WWE. Match One: Singles Contest Shelton Benjamin vs. Triple H I had written out a long descriptive match for this, but due to laptop issues and my back up not correctly working I lost most of this show, meaning this match and the rest will likely be heavily recapped. The main elements to take from this match are this: Triple H struggles in the early going, with Benjamin getting under The Game’s skin and effortlessly toying with him to the delight of the ECW commentary team who big up the fact Shelton has always had Triple H’s number. However, the ruthless attitude of the D-Generation X member brings him back into the match, playing the role of the bag guy and keeping Benjamin down on the mat, grounding one half of the tag team champions. A couple of false comebacks later, Benjamin finally makes some head way into the contest before things evolve into a back and forth contest until both men knock each other out by running head first into each other. And then, from the crowd comes RAW’s Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase who both have had issues with D-Generation X in recent weeks and they slide into the ring and attack both men – resulting in a Cross Rhodes to The Gold Standard, leaving Triple H on his own against the two Legacy members. Result: No Contest @ 8.48 The crowd react as you’d expect, with lot’s of boos, all of them directed at Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase with the commentary team lambasting them for potentially robbing us of a potential classic. Rhodes and DiBiase don’t care though, because they take their anger out on Triple H after losing to D-Generation X and John Cena, losing their chance at receiving a WWE Unified Tag Team Championship match. The two of them lay into Triple with stomps while Benjamin looks to have been knocked out after that Cross Rhodes. But, here comes Shawn Michaels … and Charlie Haas! The unlikely due of The Heartbreak Kid and The Fundamental slide into the ring and target both Rhodes and DiBiase. Haas pairing off with Rhodes, connecting with multiple punches and kicks while Shawn Michaels clotheslines Ted over the top rope. Michaels checks on his friend, Triple H, then turns to see what’s going on with Charlie and Cody who are now trading hands, eventually Rhodes getting the better of the exchange. Then, Rhodes turns, looking to see what is happening on the other side of the ring, and Shawn Michaels aims to connect with Sweet Chin Music! Cody dives out of the way! Super Kick! It lands – right in Charlie Haas’ mush! Haas tumbles to the ground, clearly knocked out, just as Benjamin appears to be coming around, and he just saw his friend by kicked in the face by Shawn Michaels. Cody grabs Ted on the outside and Legacy back away from the ring, leaving Benjamin to crawl over to Charlie and check on his tag team partner, keeping one eye on Shawn Michaels and now Triple H, who’s using the ropes to help himself up. And with the image of Benjamin staring at the two standing members of D-Generation X, the commentary team sends us to the first commercial break of the evening. COMMERCIAL BREAK Back from the commercial break, we get a glimpse into Evan Bourne’s locker room, where he is sitting on a wooden bench, staring into space, perhaps contemplating his tag team partner for the main event. Todd Grisham interrupts the former ECW Champion, walking into the room and shoving a microphone in his face, asking if he has an update on the health of Yoshi Tatsu and if he has found a tag team partner for tonight. Bourne stands up, and tells Grisham that, yes, Yoshi is here tonight, but he hasn’t been cleared to compete and Bourne wouldn’t ask Yoshi too considering the state he is in. Then, Bourne says Christian has lost the respect of the locker room, so he’s confident he’ll be able to find a tag team partner by the end of the show, and with that, we cut away. But not to the arena, because we’re still backstage, and we’re in the locker room of the ECW Champion, Christian! And behind him, the ever large presence of Ezekiel Jackson! Christian and ‘Zeke appear to be watching on from the television sets, behind them a set of silver lockers with a wooden bench in front of it, and either side of the lockers are two framed pictures. Christian shakes his head, and (almost to himself) says there is no way Bourne has found a tag partner for tonight – aside from Yoshi Tatsu, nobody on the roster likes him. He turns to Jackson, and says regardless of who he gets, we need to take both of them out tonight. Jackson looks at the ground, appearing to be thinking of something, which prompts Christian to ask what the problem is. The big man looks up and says he’s been wondering what the point of all this (motioning between himself and Christian). Christian pats Jackson on the back and smiles a shit-eating grin – reminding Jackson that once they take out Evan Bourne, then the ECW Champion will be giving ‘Zeke the next title shot, reminding The Personification of Domination that Christian is a man of his word. Jackson appears to be thinking it over, then nods and allows Christian to pat him on the back again. Christian leads Jackson out of the room, leaving us in an empty locker room, but the camera lingers on the shot for just a few seconds longer, and like last week, the eagled among the viewers may notice that in one of the picture frames, is a large church-like building, with a field of what appears to be white flowers growing in it. And with that, we cut away. CUT AWAY This time to the arena, where Mark Henry’s music plays, and The World’s Strongest Man heads out for his match tonight. The commentary team remind us that Henry is on a mission to get his hands on William Regal, and the first step in that is dealing with Regal’s lackey, Paul Burchill. They take the time to remind us of Vladimir Kozlov’s involvement – refusing William Regal’s offer of an alliance and assisting Henry in his fight against the two Brits. However, we get a video in video picture of Mark Henry and Vladimir Kozlov backstage, where The Worlds Strongest Man asks the Russian to stay in the back tonight, because he wants to make a statement, and that will be defeating Paul Burchill. As Mark Henry reaches the ring, we cut away to the second commercial of the evening, and after the break, we’ll join this match in action! Match Two: Singles Contest Mark Henry vs. Paul Burchill As you’d expect, Paul Burchill takes it slow, taking his time and dodging any attempted attack by The World’s Strongest Man. This would continue for the first couple of minutes, with Burchill getting in some decent quick-fire offense. However, Mark Henry would have enough of it, ultimately getting his hands on The Ripper with a quick Back Body Drop – sending us to the commercial break. On our return, we’re informed via video replay of underhanded tactics by William Regal, climbing onto the apron and poking The Worlds Strongest Man in the eye, allowing Burchill to gain control. However, with William Regal in his sights, Mark Henry would make a comeback to the delight of the crowd and put away the unofficial European Champion with the Worlds Strongest Slam for the three counts. Winner: Mark Henry @ 7.37 (including time taken during the commercial break) And with that, the bell rings, and Mark Henry has vanquished Paul Burchill, and now he has a clear run at William Regal. The World’s Strongest Man has his hand raised by the referee, and the commentary team confirm that next week, Mark Henry will face off against William Regal! On the ramp, Regal backs up, looking frustrated and distraught. No luck for Regal tonight, and he has next week to look forward too now. CUT AWAY Now, we get a video package, detailing the imminent arrival of Bryan Danielson! For weeks, Danielson has been shown in the crowd, awaiting the perfect time for his debut, and the video package – after showcasing some moments from Danielson’s independent career (most of the credit to Ring of Honor, detailed in a small logo at the bottom of the clips), a graphic comes up, stating his debut will be coming soon. Back in the arena, the commentary team hype up the arrival of Bryan Danielson, referring to him as The American Dragon and wondering which poor soul will be the first man to face off against the highly touted Superstar. GOMMERCIAL BREAK Back from commercial, the crowd rise to their feet as the ECW Champion, Christian walks onto the ramp, dressed to compete, with the silver ECW Title around his waist. Behind him, the brooding figure of Ezekiel Jackson. The duo walks down the ramp, Christian taking the time to tell some fans to shut the hell up while Jackson is all business, perhaps focused on taking out Evan Bourne and cementing his claim as the number one contender. And now, the arrival of the former ECW Champion, Evan Bourne brings a huge pop from the crowd. He walks onto the stage and takes a moment, looking down at Christian and Jackson, perhaps pondering his next move – and his appearance on his own means Christian has a huge smirk across his face. But then, we see in Bourne’s right hand, he has a microphone. Bourne brings the mic to his mouth and tells Christian that what he did to Yoshi Tatsu, Rhyno and Tommy Dreamer was terrible, and yes, while Evan Bourne doesn’t have many allies in the locker room – a lot more people hate Christian he thought. And not only that, but one man isn’t the biggest fan of The Personification of Domination. This remark brings Ezekiel to the forefront, the big man taking centre stage and approaching the ropes, shouting something to Bourne, but the camera goes back to Bourne, who says he’s found a tag team partner, and by God it’s a good one, and one Ezekiel Jackson knows quite well. Then … JA PRINJOS TEBE BOL' Ezekiel Jackson’s eyes widen, looking like they might pop out of his skull, while Christian stares, dumbfounded at the stage, where Vladimir Kozlov comes storming out to a decent reaction from the crowd. Immediately, the commentary team quickly recap the history between Vladimir and Ezekiel, harkening back to their Parking Lot Brawl and the countless altercations the two have had. Vladimir barely acknowledges Bourne, but the two of them walk down the ramp, the crowd cheering on them on. They both slide into the ring, and meet the two men head on! The foursome start to battle in the ring until Bourne ducks a right hand from the ECW Champion, and hits a drop kick, sending the Canadian out of the ring while Vladimir lands a knee in Jackson’s stomach, and literally throws Jackson over the top rope! The crowd are on their feet, but the referee starts to take control, getting everything set up for him to start the match. Main Event: Tag Team Contest Evan Bourne & Vladimir Kozlov vs. Christian & Ezekiel Jackson The beginning of the contest kicks off with the renewal of the rivalry between the two big men in this contest. Jackson and Kozlov go toe-to-toe for a few minutes, with each man trading the advantage. Eventually, though, with the help of a distraction on the apron, Jackson takes control over the Russian, preventing him from getting the tag to his partner. Until, a comeback from Kozlov allowed his team back into the match, fighting back against The Personification of Domination and battling away until a double clothesline got both men down. Then, the hot tag came, with Bourne coming in and meeting the ECW Champion in the centre of the ring. The two traded blows, much like Jackson and Kozlov did. The advantage swung from side to side until it looked like Bourne was going for the Shooting Star Press, but a push from Jackson meant the former ECW Champion crashed and burned. An extended period of rest here, with Christian keeping Bourne grounded, until the second hot tag of the match, when Bourne got the tag to Kozlov, and the Russian came in hot against Ezekiel Jackson. The end of the match would come here, as on the outside, Bourne would be thrown directly into the steel steps, allowing Christian and Jackson the time to double up on the Russian, ultimately connecting with the Killswitch, and then The Book of Ezekiel for the three count! Winners: Christian & Ezekiel Jackson One to one in the pinfall count between Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov, but it was the aftermath of the contest in which the real talking point came, when William Regal and Paul Burchill would hit the ring, looking to make a statement and attack the Russian. Meanwhile, Evan Bourne would slide back into the ring, attacking Christian, looking for revenge after being thrown into the steel steps. We get a quick picture shot of Bryan Danielson watching on from the crowd, shaking his head. It’s chaos in the ring, though. The Russian struggling against Regal and Burchill, and Bourne trying to fight off the ECW Champion and Ezekiel Jackson. But, then, ‘SOMEBODY GON’ GET THEIR ASS KICKED’ The four heels in the ring stop immediately as for the second time tonight, Mark Henry makes his way down the ramp, roaring at the people in the ring. Just the hulking figure of The World’s Strongest Man is enough to send the four heels running from the ring. WWE Superstars: 17th Sep 2009 ​ Before the show kicks off, we get a brief recap of the previous week’s events, including the showings from SmackDown and RAW, but most of the focus is on the aftermath of Alicia Fox and Lacey Von Erich’s match, where Fox was able to come out victorious, only to put the beat down on Lacey. Inside the arena, the ECW commentary team welcome us to the show. Out first, Super Katie comes out with her usual white and green mask on, her cape flowing behind her. After a moment, Lacey Von Erich comes out after Katie, and she waves to the crowd. Striker and Matthews inform us that despite losing to Alicia Fox, Lacey has got an ECW contract but not as an in-ring competitor, but as a trainee. And Katie’s opponent, Alicia Fox comes out, looking as angry as ever, perhaps because despite her best efforts to ensure Lacey did not receive a contract last week, it was all for naught. She makes her away down the ramp and climbs into the ring and goes straight for Super Katie! Match One: Singles Contest Alicia Fox vs. Super Katie w/Lacey Von Erich Katie dodges the initial attack, and goes to town on Fox, showing her wrestling ability and showing that while she’s playing a fun character, she still knows how to get things done in the ring. For a while, Alicia struggles to get a foothold in the match, until a poke to the eye from the female Superstars puts ECW’s resident superhero on the backfoot. With Lacey cheering her on from ringside, Katie does manage to fight back, only to be cut off by a knee to the stomach and then a snap suplex from Alicia – who then turns her attention to Lacey, irate at her constant cheering of Katie Lea. Fox leaves the ring, grabs Lacey and yanks her by the hair into the barricade, resulting in deep boos from the crowd. Back in the ring, Katie takes advantage of this, setting about Alicia with multiple rights and lefts, picking up the pace, looking to put this one away, but then all eyes turn to the stage where Dustin Rhodes – clad in a three-piece suit, gold and silver cane comes walking down the ramp, twirling a gold ring with a sapphire jewel – comes walking down the ramp. Super Katie’s perplexed by this, and this distraction allows Alicia to whip Katie around, kick her in the stomach, hit the ropes and hit the superhero with her own aggressive-looking version of the scissor kick! Hook of the leg, and the referee counts the three! Winner: Alicia Fox @ 6.17 And that’s a wrap on ECW’s match on this episode of WWE Superstars. In the aftermath, Dustin Rhodes stands before the ring, watching Alicia Fox have her hand raised by the referee while Lacey holds her head in her hands. Then, Alicia spots Dustin and leaves the ring, stands in front of the man, and then smiles before glancing at the cane and the sapphire ring. With that, she brushes past him and walks up the ramp – happy with her win over Super Katie here tonight. Later in the night… It seems we’re not finished on WWE Superstars tonight where ECW is concerned, because the SmackDown commentary team interrupt their broadcast to explain commotion is going on backstage! The cameras cut to the back, where a gaggle of people are shouting and yelling, grabbing at somebody who’s in the middle of the group. The camera man does his best to pick up who it is, and finally we get a glimpse of Ezekiel Jackson continuing to pummel the former ECW Champion, Evan Bourne with hard right fists. Again, people try to get Jackson off Bourne, but the big man simply shrugs people off, before picking Bourne up and dragging him – weak legged and all – towards an open door which leads into the parking lot. Bourne – for a moment – tries to fight back, but Jackson knees him in the stomach and lifts him up onto his shoulders, bringing the poor guy to the car park. Then, Jackson – with people shouting at him – takes Bourne on over to a white BMW and throws Evan onto the hood. A few more shots later, then Jackson grabs Bourne by the throat, snarling at him, then he lifts Bourne off his feet AND SLAMS HIM ON THE WINDSHIELD before we cut to black.

WWE ECW Preview 22nd September 2009 The ECW Champion, Christian will be in attendance tonight, telling WWE.com that with Evan Bourne now out of the picture, he will do the right thing tonight and announce Ezekiel Jackson as the number one contender like he promised. The question remains, will Christian’s idea go without a hitch, or will someone else have something to say? Speaking of championships, the WWE Champion from Monday Night RAW, Randy Orton will be in action tonight, as he teams with his stablemates, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase against John Cena and the World Tag Team Champions, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin in our main event. Upon Legacies brutal decimation of D-Generation X on RAW, despite John Cena and The World’s Greatest Tag Teams attempts to save the day, Legacy will go into this one looking to put a marker down as the road to Breaking Point heats up. In other news, Mark Henry, after having dispatched Paul Burchill, will now get his hands on the Englishman, William Regal. After having suffered at the hands of his former manager, and potentially losing out on the ECW Championship because of him, The World’s Strongest Man will be able to enact some form of revenge, with the adding stipulation that both Paul Burchill and Vladimir Kozlov have been banned from ringside. ECW on SyFy | 22nd September 2009 Beginning the show tonight is a brief recap, led by Matt Striker and Josh Matthews, explaining what happened between Ezekiel Jackson and Evan Bourne on the previous episode of WWE Superstars, with Bourne being taken out of action backstage by the hulking brute. Then, we delve into the arena, where the ECW Champion, Christian makes his way down the ramp, holding the ECW Championship on his shoulder, wearing a nice three piece black suit. He climbs into the ring and grabs a microphone, welcoming everyone to HIS show, and as The Heart and Soul of ECW, he says it’s his duty to make sure everyone feels welcome – despite taking a cheap shot at the city we’re in tonight. With the cheap heat out of the way, Christian says he has something important to say to a good friend, to Ezekiel Jackson, and brings out the big man. Jackson receives a decent number of boos as he walks down the ramp and stands across from Christian, who smiles warmly. Christian explains the duo had a deal, where Jackson would take out Evan Bourne and make sure that Christian became ECW Champion, and that’s just what Ezekiel did. For that reason, Christian is rewarding Ezekiel with an ECW Championship match at Breaking Point and— The love in between the two men is interrupted by ECW General Manager, Tiffany walking onto the stage with a microphone in her hand. She starts by commending Christian on taking out Evan Bourne, stating it was smart, but a stupid move, putting the rematch between them on ice, much to the chagrin of the crowd. But, she states that categorically, Christian will NOT be defending the ECW Title at Breaking Point against Ezekiel Jackson – because she is not rewarding what they have done. Instead, she searched high and low, and decided who better to challenge for the ECW Title than Michigan’s own … ‘ONE OF A KIND…’ And with that, the arena comes unglued as Matt Striker freaks out on commentary, when the one and only, ROB VAN DAM walks onto the stage in a pair of blue jeans and black hooded top. The former ECW and WWE Champion stands across from Tiffany who is applauding, and the two then exchange a shake of the hand. The commentary make sure to note that Rob Van Dam and Christian have history, and not only that, but RVD is an ECW Original, perhaps THE ECW Original. Showing no fear, RVD starts walking down the ramp, and shrugs his shoulders when he sees Christian jawing at him. Despite Jackson being in the ring and being outnumbered, Van Dam climbs into the ring and stands across from Christian, who looks to Jackson and nods, sending Ezekiel towards RVD, looking for a clothesline but RVD ducks and comes out the other side, and connects with a Spinning Heel Kick – sending Ezekiel out of the ring. Christian tries to get a shot in but RVD turns around at the right moment, sending Christian scurrying back and out of the ring, throwing the microphone to the ground, sending a bang throughout the arena. RVD stands near the ropes before heading to the second turnbuckle, still keeping one eye on Christian and Ezekiel Jackson who have started to head back up the ramp, as a graphic appears on the screen showcasing the match made for Breaking Point: Rob Van Dam versus Christian for the ECW Championship! COMMERCIAL BREAK Backstage, Rob Van Dam is interrupted by ECW Interviewer, Todd Grisham, who asks the ECW Original what his motives are for returning to ECW, if whether or not this is a one-time deal or if this is for the foreseeable future. Van Dam starts by thanking him for the welcome back, stating that while ECW has massively changed since his time and while there are faces he doesn’t recognise, he couldn’t sit at home and watch as Christian dragged the ECW Championship through the mud, pretending to be The Heart and Soul of ECW. He goes on to say when Tiffany called him, he jumped at the chance to challenge for the ECW Title, and while he may be out of practice, he’s looking forward to competing for the gold in his home town in two weeks’ time. He says that at the moment, his contract only runs until Breaking Point, with the agreement with Tiffany that if he wins, he’ll get the ECW Championship and a contract, therefore he’s looking forward to competing in the ring, becoming the ECW Champion, and reminding everyone why RVD is the Whole F’n Show! In the ring, Tony Chimel announces the first match of the night is a six man tag team contest which draws in huge cheers as the crowd know they’re about to see some Superstars they don’t normally see on Tuesday nights. First group out is Legacy, led by WWE Champion, Randy Orton! Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase follow their leader out onto the ramp, all three of them wearing matching Legacy tees. The trio walk down the ramp, as slow as ever, while the commentary recap the rivalry between Orton and John Cena, coming to ahead last Monday Night RAW when Orton helped his teammates take out D-Generation X despite interference from John Cena and the World Tag Team Champions, The World’s Greatest Tag Team, ultimately leading to tonight’s match. And sure enough, out next are Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin! The Unified Tag Champions make their way down the ramp to decent cheers as they are representing ECW here tonight. With D-Generation X on their mind in two weeks’ time, the duo walk down the ramp and wait in front of the ring. Loud mixed reaction for the arrival of John Cena! He rushes down the ramp, running right past Benjamin and Haas and going straight for Orton but the referee gets in the way, pointing at his badge and directing the teams to their own corners as the match is ready to begin! Blockbuster Six Man Tag: WWE Champion; Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase; Legacy vs. WWE Unified Tag Champions; The World’s Greatest Tag Team & John Cena In the match between Legacy and John Cena, Shelton Benjamin, and Charlie Haas, there was a lot of back-and-forth action, with frequent tags. However, the rivalry between Orton and Cena was too much to handle as it spilled out of the ring and into the parking lot. Meanwhile, despite Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase’s attempts to cheat the victory, without their leader, they eventually succumbed to the tag team champions Benjamin and Haas gaining the upper hand, with Benjamin pinning DiBiase for the win. WINNERS: The World’s Greatest Tag Team & John Cena @ 7.27 Benjamin is immediately greeted by his tag team partner, having dealt with Rhodes on the outside and the team raise their championships above their head, with the commentary team explaining this was a message sent by them to their number one contenders, D-Generation X, who’ll likely have a response ready this coming Monday Night! COMMERCIAL BREAK Back from the break, we get a cryptic video of a man dressed in black, sitting on the step of a dilapidated church, with the full moon shining above him. The wind picks up, rustling the trees and the damp grass around him. The camera slowly zooms in on him and we see he’s twirling a playing card between his fingers, the camera doesn’t get a glimpse of the opposite side, as once we close in, the man who we now can see is CURT HAWKINS turns away and enters the church, but not before the camera pans to the side, revealing another playing card, this time face up, and on it is the image of TOMMY DREAMER as ECW Champion, and beside that, is a white rose. CUT BACKSTAGE We join midway through an argument between the ECW Champion, CHRISTIAN and EZEKIEL JACKSON who isn’t too happy about his shot at the ECW Title blowing up in their faces. Christian tries to calm the big man down, explaining that he held up his end of the bargain by arranging a championship opportunity, but Jackson should be blaming the ECW General Manager, Tiffany, for ruining what would have been a hell of a match between he and Jackson at Breaking Point. Christian puts a hand on Jackson’s shoulder, and explains he has a sit down interview with SmackDown’s Jim Ross on the next edition of ECW, and Rob Van Dam will be in the chair opposite, which is the perfect time for Jackson to take Van Dam out before he even gets to Breaking Point – the manipulation works perfectly because the dumb brute nods his head, and cracks his knuckles, signifying that he’s bought in to what the ECW Champion has said. IN THE ARENA And it’s now time for the main event, but before that we get a recap video of the rivalry between William Regal and Mark Henry, stemming from the moment Regal and Henry became aligned, only for Regal to fall short in his attempt to gain the ECW Title, and for Henry to become the number one contender, which ultimately led to the break up, and the formation of the alliance between Regal and Paul Burchill. Finally, we close on the image of Henry and Regal squaring off after the match has been announced. COMMERCIAL BREAK The entrance of the Englishman is up next, with WILLIAM REGAL coming out to a decent chunk of boos from tonight’s crowd. He walks down the ramp with a purpose, looking rather confident. Then, here comes MARK HENRY! The big man walks down the ramp, looking as huge and as menacing as ever. THE MAIN EVENT: Mark Henry vs. William Regal The bell rang, and the two Superstars locked up in the middle of the ring, each trying to gain an advantage. Henry, known for his brute strength, quickly overpowered Regal, tossing him across the ring with ease. Regal tried to use his technical skills to fight back, but Henry continued to dominate, hitting him with a series of powerful strikes and throws. Regal began to resort to underhanded tactics, distracting the referee and hitting Henry with low blows and eye pokes. But Henry remained determined, and he continued to fight back with all his might. As the match wore on, Henry's strength became too much for Regal to handle. Henry hit him with the World’s Strongest Slam and went for the pin. The referee counted to three, and the crowd erupted in cheers as Henry was declared the winner. WINNER: MARK HENRY @ 8.29 A great main event to end the night off with, and for a moment, it looks like it’s all calm, but then PAUL BURCHILL comes running down the ramp with a led pipe in his hand, looking to get involved, but Henry sees him coming and immediately grabs him on his entry to the ring and plants him with a spinebuster!! Then, out of nowhere, Regal is back to his feet and stupidly smashes Henry in the back with a forearm which only seems to enrage the man, as he turns around and stares into the eyes of his now beaten rival. Regal backs off, pleading with him, and the commentary team mention how Henry needs to be careful here. And just as they say that, murmurs start in the crowd, and then cheers from the crowd, and the camera cuts to the front row, where BRYAN DANIELSON is in the middle of standing up and taking his jacket off!! The individuals in the crowd who are in the know react as you’d expect, and Henry notices this, and turns to face him, but Danielson – referred to as The Most Dangerous Man in Sports Entertainment by Striker – jumps the barricade and climbs into the ring. He doesn’t shy away from Henry, walking right up to him and getting in his face. Then, Regal sees an an opportunity here, and rushes forward, connecting with a Chop Block to Henry’s knee! With Henry down on one knee, Danielson backs up into the corner, and rushes forward, and LANDS A KNEE TO THE MUSH! The World’s Strongest Man is down and out, as Regal struggles to his feet, staring at Danielson, and the commentary team fill us in on the history between these two men. And finally, after weeks of promotional videos, it appears Bryan Danielson has landed on ECW, as he has his hand raised by William Regal – with Paul Burchill watching on from the outside with a perplexed expression as the WWE logo flashes on the screen and we head to black. WWE Superstars 24th September 2009 Kicking off tonight’s show is a rematch from the previous week, with Super Katie making her entrance to a good reaction from the crowd, and while she still has superhero in training – Lacey Von Erich – with her, she also has The Hurricane who is providing back up tonight after the interference last week. And her opponent, Alicia Fox, comes out to a negative reaction, and has a three-piece suit clad Dustin Rhodes following her. Alicia shows off a ring that she’s wearing, a blue sapphire adorning it to the camera, as Rhodes follows her, holding his gold cane with the same blue gem inside. While Fox heads into the ring, Rhodes heads to the commentary both. Match One: Alicia Fox w/Dustin Rhodes vs. Super Katie w/The Hurricane & Lacey Von Erich The bell rings, and Super Katie charges at Alicia Fox. The two tie-up, but Super Katie quickly gains the advantage, taking down Fox with a hip toss. Fox manages to escape, but Super Katie hits her with a dropkick, sending her to the corner. The match continues, with Super Katie dominating Fox with a series of quick strikes and high-flying moves. Fox tries to mount a comeback, but Super Katie catches her with a devastating DDT. As Super Katie goes for the pin, Dustin Rhodes jumps up from commentary and interferes in the match, attacking The Hurricane at ringside. Super Katie sees the commotion outside the ring and is momentarily distracted until the two battle up the ramp, and Katie turns her attention back to Fox who’s just getting up. The referee is distracted by what’s going on outside and doesn’t see … Lacey climbing into the ring and hitting Katie in the head with a forearm, betraying her! Alicia Fox takes advantage, picking Katie up, kicking her in the stomach then connects with a brutal Scissor Kick and pinning her for the three count. Dustin Rhodes and The Hurricane continue to brawl up the ramp as Lacey Von Erich stands tall over Super Katie, having betrayed her former ally. Winner: Alicia Fox @ 6.29 It’s a bit chaotic now, with Rhodes and The Hurricane disappearing out of view, and Fox meeting Lacey in the centre of the ring, and after a moment, the two women shake hands and share an embrace, and both look down at Katie, with the commentary team lambasting Lacey for betraying the one person that looked out for her. And with that, we head onto the next portion of the night, where SmackDown takes over! ECW on SyFy | 29th September 2009 Breaking Point … This Sunday ​ Kicking off tonight’s episode we get a brief recap of the events of the previous week, with the video ending on the arrival of Bryan Danielson to Tuesday nights, aiding William Regal and Paul Burchill in their battles with Mark Henry and Vladimir Kozlov, ultimately ending with Danielson knocking Henry out with a running knee to the face. Now, in the arena, the crowd murmur with anticipation as the commentary team hype up the card for tonight, including a special main event where Charlie Haas will take on The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. But first, out comes The Moscow Mauler, Vladimir Kozlov, who looks ready for action, receiving a respectable pop from the fans here tonight. And his opponent, none other than Bryan Danielson, who receives a mixed reaction from the crowd, some knowing him from his time on the independents, but it’s clear Danielson doesn’t care, as he only has eyes for the Russian, refusing to look away from the bigger man, before climbing into the ring and standing face to face. Match One: Singles Bryan Danielson vs. Vladimir Kozlov The match between Bryan Danielson and Vladimir Kozlov begins with both wrestlers locking up in the center of the ring. Kozlov uses his size and strength advantage to overpower Danielson early on, but Danielson is able to use his speed and technical prowess to counter Kozlov's attacks. As the match progresses, Danielson gains momentum, hitting Kozlov with a series of kicks and strikes. Kozlov tries to fight back, but Danielson stays on the offensive, hitting him with a flying knee and a dropkick. Kozlov manages to regain control briefly, hitting Danielson with a series of power moves, but Danielson is quick to recover. He hits Kozlov with a running forearm and follows up with a dragon suplex, sending Kozlov crashing to the mat. Danielson then locks in the LeBell Lock, Kozlov tries to fight out of it, but Danielson is too skilled and tightens the hold, causing Kozlov to tap out. Winner: Bryan Danielson @ 6.17 And with that, Bryan Danielson chocks up his first win on ECW, soundly defeating the Russian. After the match, the commentary team obviously hype the young man up, before William Regal and Paul Burchill walk down the ramp, Regal applauding, and Burchill scowling. Once in the ring, Regal raises Danielson’s hand in the air before looking down at Kozlov, but what he – and Burchill don’t see – is Danielson backing up into the corner, staring at the back of Regal’s head … the commentary team don’t know what to make of it … UNTIL THE AMERICAN DRAGON RUSHES FORWARD AND CONNECTS WITH THE RUNNING KNEE TO PAUL BURCHILL’S BACK! The crowd don’t know how to react to this, and even William Regal is shocked, staring at his fallen comrade, only for him to then be KNOCKED OUT WITH THE RUNNING KNEE! Danielson lets the moment set in for a moment, before deciding to leave the ring and grab the top half of the steel steps. He slides it underneath the bottom rope, and drags Regal’s lifeless body to it, places the Englishman’s hand on the top of the step … AND STOMPS THE HELL OUT OF IT!! Regal writhes in agony, clutching his hand, before succumbing to the pain, and seemingly passing out as Burchill tries to get back involved, sliding back into the ring but it’s clear he’s in no shape to do anything, as Danielson simply clotheslines him back to the outside, before following him and ripping off the top of the announce table, before grabbing him and lifting him up in a Suplex position, and SLAMMING BURCHILL THROUGH THE TABLE! Before the crowd can react, and as security rush down the ramp, Danielson slides back into the ring, approaches William Regal – his mentor – and looks at his lifeless body, and SPITS on the Englishman! The spit seemingly was too far now, as despite Regal being a bad guy himself, the crowd boo Danielson’s actions as the commentary question what the hell is going on, as we head to a commercial break. COMMERCIAL BREAK Back from the break, and we’re backstage with Todd Grisham, who introduces Dustin Rhodes to us. The man formerly known as Goldust is wearing a navy three piece-suit and beside him, is Alicia Fox, the camera focusing for a moment on her hand where a Sapphire ring sits. Grisham begins the interview asking what the reason is for Rhodes turning his back on the fans, turning his back on his past as Goldust and the reason why he has seemingly aligned himself with Alicia and apparently Lacey Von Erich. Dustin explains the days of walking around in a black and gold suit with face paint is over, and it was about time he shed the mask of playing a character for the fans he did not like. He goes on to say that he’s watched The Green Knights form over time, with Katie Lea going in the opposite direction, shifting, and wearing a mask to cover who they really are. He explains Alicia is the first in a list of people he plans to recruit to his cause, explaining is group is now called The Natural Alliance – because none of them will put on a fake mask to pander to the crowd to get ahead. Before wrapping up the interview, Dustin brings Lacey Von Erich into the fold, and thanks her for agreeing to join the group, after explaining how The Green Knights and Super Katie specifically, were using her, and as a reward, like he gave to Alicia Fox, Rhodes produces a Sapphire gem, attached to a silver necklace, and takes the time to put it around Lacey’s neck. Then, Dustin turns to the camera, and challenges any of The Green Knights to face him in the ring next week. And now, we get a brief hype package for this coming Sunday, showcasing the future ECW Championship match between Christian and Rob Van Dam, with a contract on the line too for the Michigan native. Then, in the arena, the crowd come unglued as Shawn Michaels makes his entrance, with Triple H behind him, D-Generation X coming down the ramp, and once in the ring, they grab a microphone and explain in a few day’s time, DX will become the WWE Tag Team Champions, and they finish off their promo time with the usual routine before we head to a commercial break. COMMERCIAL BREAK And back from the break, comes the entrance of the WWE Unified Tag Champions, with Charlie Haas leading the way, Shelton Benjamin behind him. The commentary team make sure to note that the match for the championship will take place this coming Sunday. Once Charlie is in the ring, the referee rings for the bell. Main Event: Singles Charlie Haas w/Shelton Benjamin vs. Shawn Michaels w/Triple H The match begins with both wrestlers circling each other, sizing each other up. Charlie Haas takes control early, locking Shawn Michaels in a headlock and slamming him to the mat. Shawn Michaels tries to counter with a leg sweep, but Haas is quick to evade and keeps up his assault on Michaels. Haas dominates the early part of the match, using his technical skills to keep Michaels grounded. Michaels tries to fight back with a series of punches and kicks, but Haas blocks most of them and continues to wear down his opponent. However, as the match progresses, Michaels begins to gain momentum. He manages to dodge a few of Haas' attacks and lands a few quick strikes of his own. Haas tries to regain control by going for a suplex, but Michaels counters with a roll-up pin. Haas kicks out at two, but Michaels stays on the offensive. He hits Haas with a series of chops and slams him into the turnbuckle. Haas tries to fight back, but Michaels is relentless. He hits Haas with a flying elbow and goes for the pin. Haas kicks out again, but Michaels is ready. He quickly rolls up Haas and manages to catch him off guard for the three-count, winning the match. Winner: Shawn Michaels @ 12.17 A valiant effort from Charlie Haas here tonight, taking on the multiple time World Champion, taking him to his absolute limit and almost taking up the victory if not for the roll up. After the match has ended, both Haas and Michaels make it to their feet and stretch out their hands, bringing a good cheer from the crowd, but when Benjamin and Triple H enter the ring – these two refuse to shake hands, instead with Triple H giving Benjamin the DX chop, causing The Gold Standard too throw some fists, and the two men go to blows, with their tag team partners, Charlie and Shawn separating the two of them. The commentary make sure to explain the history between Benjamin and Triple H, only exacerbated in recent weeks from their singles contest. The segment ends with Shawn taking Triple H out of the ring, leaving The World’s Greatest Tag Team in the ring, on their own brand, with the tag team titles. And before we cut to the commercial, we get the standard issue feed of the two men involved in the next segment walking backstage in different areas of the backstage area – these two, namely, being the ECW Champion, Christian and his challenger, Rob Van Dam. COMMERCIAL BREAK And back from the break, the segment opens with Jim Ross, SmackDown’s commentator standing in the centre of the ring, with two highchairs either side, and he has a microphone. He first asks the ECW Champion, Christian to come to the ring, and The Heart and Soul of ECW does as he’s asked, walking down the ramp with the ECW Title over his shoulder. First, Ross begins by addressing the tension between Christian and Rob Van Dam. He then reminds everyone of the history between the two, remembering the classic championship bout for the Intercontinental Championship which Rob Van Dam won. Christian cuts him off here, antagonising the interviewer for his bias towards RVD, stating that the previous matches between the two are irrelevant, just like RVD is. Christian states RVD is an unworthy opponent, saying he hasn’t earned the right to challenge for the ECW Championship. Then, as a final question towards the champion, Jim Ross brings up Tommy Dreamer, and how Christian thinks the fact RVD and Dreamer were close friends will affect the contest. Christian refuses to answer, saying as previously stated, Tommy Dreamer is not to be mentioned on ECW any longer, but he will say that Dreamer is and was a plague on ECW, and got what he deserved. And with that, Rob Van Dam’s music plays to a loud pop, and the challenger makes his entrance. Once in the ring, he stands across from Christian, microphone in hand, while the Canadian holds the title in the air. Ross asks RVD about his motivations for challenging Christian, whether it’s purely about the ECW Title, or if he is motived by the way Tommy Dreamer was treated by Ezekiel Jackson and the ECW Champion. Again, the mention of Dreamer draws a look of aggression from Christian, but RVD continues anyway. The Michigan native explains that while Dreamer was his friend, and yes, that will play a part in this coming Sunday, his reason for coming back is to prove to himself that he still belongs on ECW, to prove that he deserves a full time contract, and he’ll do that by winning the ECW Championship, and in essence, on Sunday, RVD will be fighting for his career. Here, Christian interrupts, saying he doesn’t care about RVD’s motivations or, in fact, his career. All the Canadian cares about his keeping his championship, proving that Tiffany’s idea of this match was a mistake, and kicking another ECW Original out of the WWE for good and ending their career. At this point, the two wrestlers get in each other’s faces while Jim Ross tries to keep the peace, but what Rob Van Dam hasn’t noticed is Ezekiel Jackson hopping the barricade and sliding into the ring. Jackson blindsides Rob Van Dam, and sends Ross scurrying out of the ring, leaving Christian and Ezekiel to lay the smackdown on RVD. But then… HERE COMES YOSHI TATSU!! A man put on the shelf by both Christian and Ezekiel Jackson returns to a strong pop, and the Japanese star rushes down the ramp and takes the fight to Ezekiel Jackson… and Rob Van Dam manages to fight back now, taking on Christian in the corner. It’s chaos now as all four men are trading blows, with the commentary team saying we’re running out of time! The WWE logo comes up on the screen, just as RVD connects with a Roundhouse Kick, and drops down on top of the Canadian, pummelling him with rights and lefts as Tatsu and Jackson spill to the outside, and the commentary team have just enough time to tell us to tune in on Sunday to see the ECW Champion defend against Rob Van Dam, in RVD’s home state! WWE Breaking Point ~29th September 2009~ Detroit, Michigan ​ It’s the big night tonight with RAW, SmackDown and ECW putting on the best card possible for tonight’s pay per view. And once we’re in the arena, we are welcomed by the RAW announce team of Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, who hype up the fact the WWE Championship will be on the line between Randy Orton and John Cena before handing over to the SmackDown team of Todd Grisham and Jim Ross for their introduction. But – it’s time for the ECW team to take charge, because the extreme brand has the honour of the first match tonight. ***ONE OF A KIND*** ​ And it’s a huge – HUGE – cheer for the returning Rob Van Dam, a Detroit native. The challenger for the ECW Championship makes his way onto the ramp and takes a moment to take in the arena. With a black, purple and white attire, RVD walks down the ramp, taking the time to slap a few hands before rolling into the ring and awaiting on his opponent tonight. ***JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES*** ​ The ECW Champion, the man who calls himself The Heart and Soul of ECW saunters onto the stage in a gold and black attire. Christian, like RVD, takes a moment on the stage, with Ezekiel Jackson by his side before holding the ECW Title above his head and then heading on down the ramp, and into the ring. Tony Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the E-C-W Championship! Introducing first, from Battle Creek, Michigan, the challenger – ROB – VAN – DAM! RVD takes the time to raise his hands to the crowd in time with his name announcement but keeps one eye on Christian before retreating back to his corner. Tony Chimel: And the opponent, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada – he has requested to be announced as The Heart and Soul of ECW, he is the reigning E-C-W Champion – CHRISTIAN! The champion raises his belt above his head before handing over the championship to the referee. The ref raises the title, showing it to the crowd and then to both competitors before calling for the bell and off we go! Match One: ECW Championship Christian © vs. Rob Van Dam The match starts with both wrestlers feeling each other out, trying to gain an advantage. The action quickly heats up as RVD hits a series of kicks and aerial maneuvers, while Christian counters with a variety of submission holds and strikes. The match is back and forth, with neither wrestler able to maintain a clear advantage. Until a wonderful counter from Rob Van Dam, resulting in a Spinning Heel Kick allows RVD to take control and put Christian through the wringer. Ultimately resulting in the challenger connecting with the Five Star Frog Splash! Just when it seems like Rob Van Dam is about to put Christian away, he doesn’t get the chance to go for the pin because a distraction from Ezekiel Jackson causes RVD to take his eyes off his opponent. Christian seizes the opportunity, recovering, and hitting the Killswitch! The crowd is shocked by the turn of events, as RVD had been dominating the latter half of the match. Christian hooks the leg and the crowd boo loudly as the referee counts the three. Winner And Still ECW Championship: Christian @ 11.23 Aw, that son of a bitch! Thanks to interference from the outside, Christian retains the ECW Championship! On the outside, Jackson, holding his jaw, grabs the title aggressively and heads into the ring. Christian uses the ropes to help himself back up, clutching his stomach after the impact from the Five Star Frog Splash. Jackson helps him, handing him the ECW Championship, but Christian looks at RVD, who’s now starting to stir. The ECW Champ’ mutters something to Ezekiel who then approaches RVD and begins stomping on his back, while Christian heads to the outside and grabs – not one, but two – STEEL CHAIRS! The crowd boo loudly as Matt Striker lays into the champion, stating that enough is enough, as he mentions how this is reminding him of the terrible moment between Christian and Tommy Dreamer. After beating on RVD for a moment, Christian puts a chair on the mat, before placing RVDs head on top. The crowd are on their feet, shouting at the ECW Champion as Ezekiel Jackson stands to the side. The champion raises the chair above his head and then… ***FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS*** ​ WHAT?! THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN THE ARENA!! The arena is in complete darkness – the sound of cheering filling the airwaves while Matt Striker for a moment marks out before the commentary team fall into a moment of silence while the tolls finish. Then, the lights come back on and CURT HAWKINS STANDS AMONG THE FANS AT THE TOP OF ONE OF THE STAIRCASES! The Martyr of Sin, with the crowd beside him, reacting as you’d expect, begins to walk down the steps, ignoring the extended arms from them, with his eyes locked to the ECW Champion and Ezekiel Jackson in the ring. It’s at this moment that Matt Striker and Josh Matthews begin to speak, explaining we haven’t seen Hawkins for a few weeks now after his match with Jack Swagger, and they put over this moment as big one in the history of the ECW brand. Hawkins, with his long, wet hair cascading down onto a dark leather vest and black jeans, reaches the barricade, hopping over and then stares at Christian and Jackson. To Jackson’s credit, he puts on a façade of fearlessness, but it’s the ECW Champion who looks positively petrified – he knows what has happened to everyone who has got in Hawkins’ path tin the previous few months. The Martyr of Sin approaches the ring and climbs onto the apron, stepping through the ropes and stands face to face with the ECW Champion and Ezekiel Jackson – showing no fear whatsoever. And with Rob Van Dam stirring in the corner, Christian does the smart thing and pushes Jackson back slightly with the back of his palm, and the two leave the ring – to regroup before reacting to this pivotal moment in recent ECW history! And with that, Hawkins continues to stare at Christian and Ezekiel Jackson, glancing at Rob Van Dam, then his music starts to play, as the ECW team advise us that they need to take a moment and will hand over to the RAW announce team! Later…​ And now it’s time for the second and final match from the ECW brand – well, a dual branded match – because it’s time for the WWE Unified Tag Team Championship! First out, is the challengers – D-Generation X who walk down the ramp in their green attire and head into the ring. The duo do their usual in-ring promo before retreating to their corner. And out next, The World’s Greatest Tag Team with the tag team championships over their shoulders. The team, in matching attire, head down the ramp, with Charlie Haas leading the way with Benjamin behind. Once in the ring, they hand over the titles. Match 4: WWE Unified Tag Team Championships The World’s Greatest Tag Team © vs. D-Generation X Right from the start, both teams come out with their A-game. The action is fast-paced and intense, with the challengers taking control early on. The World's Greatest Tag Team refuses to go down without a fight, and they launch a series of impressive maneuvers to regain control of the match. As the match progresses, both teams showcase their incredible athleticism and teamwork, leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats. The momentum swings back and forth as each team tries to gain the upper hand. Just as it looks like D-Generation X is about to claim the victory, the match takes an unexpected turn. On the outside, Benjamin, and Triple H – who are trading blows while Haas and Michaels battle on the inside – are blindsided by … Legacy! Rhodes and DiBiase grab the two men, and throw each of them into the ring post, and then into the steel steps, taking them out of action before sliding into the ring. Winners: No Contest @ 7.39 With both Shelton Benjamin and Triple H taken out of action with both men being the victim of the attack by Legacy – it leaves Rhodes and DiBiase to attack Michaels and Haas in the ring. Taking one man each, DiBiase and Rhodes take advantage of the tiredness, hitting a Cross Rhodes and Dream Street on Haas and Michaels respectively. The crowd boo, obviously. The commentary team of Matt Striker and Jerry Lawler hate on the actions of Legacy tonight, but ultimately tell us that we’ll need to tune in to RAW and ECW for the fallout from this. The main talking point coming from the ECW brand after Breaking Point is the emergence of Curt Hawkins after the ECW Championship match where Christian retained his ECW Title. Having not only defended his title, but also cost Rob Van Dam a contract, Christian will likely now have to content with the attention of a Superstar who has ran through the competition on ECW, resulting in the long absence of Zack Ryder and The All American, Jack Swagger. Tonight, we’re told the ECW Champion is in the building and we’re sure that The Martyr of Sin will be lurking somewhere.

We are expecting to hear from The American Dragon, Bryan Danielson after his brutal attack on his mentor and friend, William Regal. Due to open the show, Danielson has told wwe.com that he will explain why he did what he did, and what is next for ECW’s newest Superstar.

In terms of matches for tonight’s event, we will see The Green Knights’s Fit Finlay take on Dustin Rhodes in a match which has been building for some time on the Thursday show, WWE Superstars. Not only that, but in the main event, Yoshi Tatsu will take on the hulking figure of Ezekiel Jackson in somewhat of a grudge match, with Tatsu being taken out by Christian and Jackson and then watching his friend, and former ECW Champion, Evan Bourne suffer the same fate.

Elsewhere, we are expecting to hear from the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions, The World’s Greatest Tag Team who are likely going to address the situation where they retained their titles after the interference of The Legacy. After witnessing a brawl between D-Generation X and Legacy on Monday Night RAW, we’ll hear what our champions have to say!

ECW On SyFy | 6th October 2009​

Before the customary ECW opening title cards and theme song, the show begins with a short recap of the events from the previous Sunday. Starting with the WWE Unified Tag Team Title match, The World’s Greatest Tag Team manages to retain their championships thanks to interference by The Legacy. A result of their rivalry with D-Generation X. Shifting gears, the end of the package comes with Rob Van Dam coming up short in his hometown in his attempt to defeat the ECW Champion for the title. However, that was not the end of the night for the self-proclaimed, Heart and Soul of ECW. For months, Curt Hawkins has hunted the sinners of the ECW brand, and having dispatched Jack Swagger, Zack Ryder, he seemingly has set his sights on the ECW Champion with his appearance at the end of the match, sending Christian and Ezekiel Jackson scurrying from the ring.

And now, still before the opening title cards, the picture fades into view and the ECW Champion, Christian is standing with the ECW General Manager, Tiffany and his personal bodyguard, Ezekiel Jackson. Joining mid conversation, Christian is telling the General Manager how he is not happy with how Curt Hawkins interfered in something that was not his business. Explaining how he is the biggest star this brand has, the current ECW Champion, the heart and soul of the brand (which draws a snort from Josh Matthews on commentary), he informs the blonde that something MUST be done. The ECW GM sweetly smiles at him which only aggravates him more, especially as she explains that, technically, Curt Hawkins did nothing wrong, and she has no issues with what happened last Sunday. This understandably sets Christian off, ranting about how he is the current ECW Champion and his opinion, and desires should be respected and fulfilled. The hulking figure of Big Zeke behind Christian draws Tiffany’s eyes, and she reminds Christian about the promise he made to his personal bodyguard. Ezekiel stares at the back of Christian’s head as he tries to play it off, before refocusing the conversation, telling Tiffany that he’ll be in his locker room while Big Zeke (Christian slaps his chest at this moment) takes care of that “pest” Yoshi Tatsu in the main event, then he’ll take care of Curt Hawkins (this draws a strange, surprised expression from the big man). Likely looking to avoid any further conversation about the promised ECW Championship match that he gave to Jackson, The Heart and Soul of ECW turns and leaves, the camera following him.

And upon our entrance into the arena, we’re greeted with the smiling faces of Josh Matthews and Matt Striker, along with the sound of the cheering crowd. The two briefly touch on the lack of follow through on Chrisitan’s part in relation to Ezekiel Jackson’s title match. A consideration is made for the fact it seemed as thought Tiffany was about to discuss that in more detail until Christian took his leave, and they do briefly talk about Curt Hawkins and what The Martyr of Sin has in store for us. Could we perhaps see another Sanctuary of Sin match?

BORN FOR GREATNESS​

Recently debuted, and having recently betrayed his mentor and friend, Bryan Danielson clocks in for the night. His music draws a decent negative reaction from the crowd. Some of the “smarter” fans are, of course, cheering. He stands on the stage for a moment, hands on his hips, clothed in a black t-shirt and blue jeans. After a long moment, Danielson shakes his head, runs his hand through his hair and heads down the ramp as the commentary remind us (along with a short replay) of the moment Danielson broke the trust between he and William Regal—attacking the Englishman and brutally injuring the man, putting him on the injured reserve list for the foreseeable future.

Danielson waits for a moment, letting the boos echo around the arena before saying, “William Regal. Trainer. Mentor. Friend.” He scoff’s, shaking his head and looking down at the ground. Looking at the big screen, he demands the production truck replay the moment Danielson turned on the Englishman, which again, draws decent heat. Of course, for the last few months, William Regal had played the villain on ECW, but it seems the fans are turning. Danielson goes on to explain his reasonings – the lack of support he felt from the Englishman in recent months and years, and, “when looking for help, you went to Paul Burchill rather than come to me? You went to a man who dressed up as a pirate before coming to the greatest wrestler in the world?”

He continues to explain he has no regrets about what he did. William Regal turned his back on The American Dragon, ignoring his phone calls and text messages, all the while dealing with Mark Henry and Vladimir Kozlov, “and look what happened when I arrived… I take out The World’s Strongest Man, and I beat Vladimir Kozlov in my first match. Only for you, Regal, to hold my hand up and try to take credit for my victories!” Danielson shakes his head before pulling a pair of maroon trunks out of the waistband of his jeans and holds them up. “I wore these with honour. A tribute to the man who helped train me and a man I considered a friend.” Bryan studies the trunks for a moment before cruelly dropping them to the ground and stamping his right foot on them – sending a clear message about what he thinks about the former Intercontinental Champion.

But before Danielson can continue, we hear…

RIPPER

Now, because Paul Burchill has been playing a dastardly heel for months, this entrance doesn’t draw a pop. Instead, the crowd seem more curious, because William Regal’s associate over the last few months is making a beeline for the ring, leather jacket and blue jeans. Normally, this would be when the person in the ring would be making their exit, avoiding any confrontation, but instead Bryan Danielson holds his ground – foot still on the pair of trunks.

Burchill slides into the ring and the two now go face to face. Two superstars William Regal had a major impact on in their careers. Burchill looks serious, but it’s Bryan’s expression which changes first, from a hard-nosed stair into a smile. He looks comfortable. Confident. Which sets Burchill off into a snarl, but before he does anything, THE AMERICAN DRAGON KICKS OUT AND LOW BLOWS THE ENGLISHMAN!!

As expected, Burchill lurches to the ground, holding the family jewels as he keeps his legs pressed together, face on the mat. Above him, Danielson stares down, before shaking his head and leaving the ring. The maroon trunks are left in the centre of the ring, a few feet from where Burchill has now managed to get into a seated position, and if anything, he looks even madder.

Danielson doesn’t care though, because he continues to walk up the ramp, back to the crowd and the ring and he stops at the top of the ramp before looking into the camera and saying, “If you know what’s good for you, Regal, don’t bother coming back.”

COMMERCIAL BREAK​

Before the continuation of the main show, a brief recap video is shown, primarily focused on the ever-growing rivalry between Dustin Rhodes and what he is calling “The Natural Alliance” against Fit Finlay, The Hurricane, Hornswoggle and Super Katie, collectively known as “The Green Knights.” This all began on WWE Superstars, primarily where this rivalry has been contained while Super Katie earned her strips to join The Green Knights, ultimately forming a partnership with Lacey Von Erich, only to be betrayed as a result of Lacey’s alliance with Alicia Fox (who turned on DJ Gabriel) and Dustin Rhodes – a new, suit clad man with a large cane with a sharp sapphire on top of it.

And back into the arena, conveniently, now we hear …

LAMBEG​

And for the first match of the evening, outcomes a former United States Champion and one of the most formidable Superstars on ECW – Fit Finlay! The Green Knights are no where to be seen, and it appears Finlay is on his own as he walks down to the ring. He’s all business tonight. He rolls into the ring and immediately starts preparing for his opponent.

THE NATURAL​

His opponent, in his first match since adopting this new persona, Dustin Rhodes makes an appearance, onto the stage with Alicia Fox and Lacey Von Erich in the background, either side of him. The camera slowly pans up to his face, and he looks focused, staring at the man in the ring. The commentary team do note that it has been Dustin Rhodes’ influence which caused Alicia Fox to turn on DJ Gabriel and Lacey Von Erich to turn her back on Super Katie. He walks down the ramp with the long cane and sapphire jewel on top – the two girls each have their own sapphire rings which the camera can’t help but focus on as the trio walk down the ramp.

Match One:
Dustin Rhodes w/Alicia Fox & Lacey Von Erich vs. Finlay

This match is an interesting because it’s slow. Super slow. The first couple of minutes consist of Finlay struggling to get his hands on Rhodes, as the leader of The Natural Alliance would repeatedly escape the ring and use the girls as protection, each of them taking it in turns to protect their leader. It’s during this time we get a shot of the rafters, where hidden in the darkness, is the leader of The Green Knights, The Hurricane watching on, like a shot from a comic book.

Attention turns back to the ring, however as Fit Finlay manages to sidestep one of the girls and get his hands on Rhodes for the first time. From here, Finlay is in control, albeit Dustin does get in a few decent shots of his own. And in the final few minutes, after taking control for a moment, Dustin loses it, as Finlay makes a comeback, taking the fight to Rhodes and it appears as if we may be close to a winner until Alicia Fox steps onto the apron which allows Lacey Von Erich to slide the sapphire cane into the ring.

With the referee fully distracted, Rhodes clocks Finlay on the back of the head with the weapon and haphazardly throws it out of the ring before hooking the leg and of course, upon seeing this, Alicia steps off the apron and the referee counts the three.

Winner: Dustin Rhodes @ 5.28

You’d think they all would be content with their victory here tonight, but of course they are not. Dustin rips his arm away from the referee as the poor man tries to raise the winners’ hand in victory. The ref scuttles from the ring as Alicia and Lacey slide inside. Alicia hands the cane to Dustin, who stares down at the fallen Irishman, and raises the cane above his head, but as he’s about to bring it down on the back of Finlay’s back we hear…

STAND BACK THERE’S A HURRICANE COMING THROUGH​

And the crowd rise to their feet as The Green Knights rush the ring. The Hurricane, Super Katie and Hornswoggle all slide into the ring – Hornswoggle slightly lagging behind of course – just in time to prevent any damage to their superhero friend. But, smartly, The Natural Alliance have vacated the ring, taking their leave and backing up the ramp. The leader of The Green Knights, The Hurricane stands watch, hands by his hips and chest puffed out, watching the villains leave the area while Super Katie and Hornswoggle check on Finlay.

COMMERCIAL BREAK​

Back from the commercial break, the ECW Champion Christian is walking along a corridor before taking a right turn and reaching a door with his name emblazoned on the door. The camera follows him into the room and he stops at a red locker situated behind a wooden bench. He places the ECW Championship on his shoulder and is about to open the locker but is interrupted by Ezekiel Jackson who places a hand on the champion’s shoulders, causing Christian to turn around.

“She made a good point. I’m still waiting my title shot.” Big Zeke places a finger on the ECW Championship and Christian looks at it for a moment before shaking his head. He tells Ezekiel that he’ll get the title shot… soon. “But right now, I have things and people to deal with.” Christian turns his back to his associate and opens the locker and his entire body freezes. Ezekiel asks him what the problem is and Christian reaches into the locker and pulls out a long white rose which prompts the champion to SLAM the locker door shut. He turns around. He looks flustered.

“I’ve had enough of this. I’m out of here. Tell you what, you deal with Yoshi Tatsu tonight and you deal with that psychotic freak, Curt Hawkins and you’ll get your title shot.” Christian attempts to leave but Ezekiel steps in front of him and angrily tells him that wasn’t the deal. Ezekiel had already held up his end of the bargain. Christian ignores him, perhaps spooked by the white rose in the locker, and brushes past his potential future challenger and leaves both the locker, and likely the arena.

WORLDS GREATEST​

The familiar music of the Unified Tag Team Champions, The World’s Greatest Tag Team plays and of course, the duo comes out to a great ovation from the crowd. As they make their way down the ramp for their match tonight, we get a brief recap video, where we see Shelton Benjamin struggling to deal with the currently suspended Hart Dynasty resulting in Charlie Haas coming to his aid, fast forwarding to their rivalry with Chris Jericho and Big Show culminating in an emotional and heartfelt performance, winning the titles and successfully defending the titles against D-Generation X (it is acknowledged they won because of DX’s feud with Legacy).

Match Two: Non-Title
The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. DJ Gabriel & Tyler Reks

No point in any description here, this is simply a squash match.

Winners: The World’s Greatest Tag Team @ 1.01

After the contest, The World’s Greatest Tag Team receive an ovation from the crowd as they hold their championships up for everyone to see… but then…

RAW’s Legacy; Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase rush the ring through the crowd and blindside the current WWE Unified Tag Team Champions! The crowd react, as you’d expect, with a lot of heat as the hated tag team put the beat down on the champions. This lasts for a good minute with Rhodes putting Benjamin down with Cross Rhodes while Ted DiBiase keeps Haas on the mat. But, before the team can give Haas the same treatment… the General Manager, Tiffany jogs onto the ramp, and appears to be calling for help – several security guards, including a second appearance of the night for the superhero group The Green Knights who lead the guards down the ramp, sending Legacy rushing for the exit.

COMMERCIAL BREAK​

It’s main event time, and all ready in the ring is the ever popular, Yoshi Tatsu! The commentary remind us of Tatsu’s career here so far, including his debut and performances leading to an ECW Championship match against the then champion, Evan Bourne, and then the subsequent rivalry between the four, including Christian and Ezekiel Jackson, ultimately leading to Tatsu’s injury caused by Ezekiel Jackson – but the Japanese Sensation is back after returning the previous week and appears to have his eyes set on a smattering of revenge.

DOMINATION​

Ezekiel Jackson makes his last appearance of the evening as he makes his way onto the stage, receiving a decent amount of heat from the fans. The commentary team discuss Ezekiel’s association with the ECW Champion and question how the inclusion of Curt Hawkins in this story is going to affect him and his future ECW Championship match.

Main Event:
Ezekiel Jackson vs. Yoshi Tatsu

In a somewhat surprising development – it’s Yoshi Tatsu who takes the fight to big Zeke in the early goings. His quick offense and mobility allow him to keep Jackson on the ropes. This lasts for a good couple of minutes until Ezekiel is sent to the outside, and Tatsu builds up a head of steam, looking for a cross-body, diving over the top rope… but Jackson catches him and holds him! And with a huge weight, Jackson slams Tatsu back first into the ring post!

However, just as Ezekiel Jackson slides Tatsu into the ring, the TV feed cuts out and the arena is plunged into darkness… but then, a figure comes into view. It’s dark. The sound of a match or a lighter being struck plays. Then, in the distance, a small amber light appears and it appears to be coming closer to the camera.

The picture cuts back to the arena where we can see the arena is still dark but a spot light has been placed on Ezekiel Jackson who stares at the big screen… and what’s that? Is it the first time we’ve seen a lick of fear on the big mans face? Back to the screen, and the figure walks close to the camera now, and the orange and red flickering rests on his face, his wet brown hair enveloping his dark face. It’s The Martyr of Sin, Curt Hawkins.

His right hand appears to be holding a lantern with a candle inside it. With his other hand, he slowly brings it up so that his arm is outstretched, and we can see what appears to be a playing card with BOTH Christian and Ezekiel Jackson on the front. And after a moment, he drops the lantern, and we can hear a harsh crash as the feed cuts away, back into the arena.

Ezekiel doesn’t react initially, but it’s clear he’s been spooked because he leans with his forehands on the top rope closest to the ramp. He’s totally oblivious to the fact that Yoshi Tatsu is behind him and measuring him up for something. Ezekiel turns, right into a standing roundhouse kick which sends him careening back into the ropes, and he rebounds into a small package… and the referee counts the three.

Winner: Yoshi Tatsu @ 6. 38

It may have come under dubious circumstances, but the Japanese Sensation gets a measure of revenge against the man who helped to put his friend, Evan Bourne on the injured list, and indeed, Ezekiel was the reason Yoshi had been out of action for weeks too.

Yoshi makes a wise getaway, sliding out of the ring and backing up the ramp, the referee holding his arm high in the air as the commentary briefly wonder what’s next for the Japanese star while in the ring, Ezekiel sits on the mat, his head in his hands before he looks up and stares at the crowd. His eyes are wide. He rubs his face in almost disbelief as Matt Striker and Josh Matthews inform us that a clear message has been sent tonight—The Martyr of Sin has no fear of BOTH the ECW Champion and Ezekiel Jackson.

With the lasting image of Ezekiel Jackson on the mat, in utter confusion and worry, the WWE logo appears on the screen and we fade to black.

ECW On SyFy | Preview​

Another episode of WWE’s version of ECW is on the horizon as the road to Hell In A Cell starts to heat up!

Perhaps unexpectantly, wwe.com has heard from ECW’s resident talk show host, Abraham Washington, who has told us that he has a very special guest tonight – the one and only, the Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley! We have been told by both ECW General Manager, Tiffany, and Washington that the ECW Original – in the form of Cactus Jack – has a very special announcement which is sure to shake the landscape of Tuesday nights!

In other news, last week we saw the in-ring return of Yoshi Tatsu after his recent injury, picking up a quality victory over Ezekiel Jackson who had been instructed by the ECW Champion to take care of the Japanese star. Christian is sure not to be happy, especially with the figure of Curt Hawkins lurking in the shadows. Tonight, the ECW Champion will be in action as he faces off against Yoshi Tatsu to kick off the show.

In other news, the chase for the Unified Tag Team Championships is about to kick into high gear after Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase attacked The World’s Greatest Tag Team last week. And tonight, we are pleased to confirm that, after agreement between ECW General Manager Tiffany and the latest RAW Guest Host, Charlie Haas will take on Ted DiBiase in singles action with their respective tag team partners in their corner.

And finally, after his brutal attack of William Regal and disrespect shown to the unofficial European Champion in Paul Burchill, Bryan Danielson will face off against the Moscow Mauler, Vladimir Kozlov, who is still without his tag team partner and friend, The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry after Danielson put Mark on the shelve.

ECW On SyFy | 13th October 2009​

Tonight’s episode of ECW doesn’t have an opening video or any pyrotechnic display. Instead, we head straight into the arena where we hear no commentary, only the sound of the crowd. Then…

JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES​

Receiving an ungodly amount of heat from his recent actions against the likes of Tommy Dreamer, Evan Bourne, Rhyno and Rob Van Dam, the current ECW World Champion, self-proclaimed Heart and Soul of ECW walks onto the stage. Christian pauses for a moment, the silver championship hanging off his shoulder. He’s dressed to compete and looks focused. Behind him, comes the hulking figure of his associate, Ezekiel Jackson dressed in a black leather jacket and black trousers. The duo walks down the ramp, with Christian pausing to pretend to slap a fans hand before pulling away. Once inside the ring, Christian hands the title to the referee and waits.

J-STAR SENSATION​

Out next, is the ever-popular Japanese Superstar, Yoshi Tatsu. He receives a good pop from the crowd and sustained cheers as he walks down the ramp with a purpose, clad in white tights and light blue wrestling boots. He slides into the ring and takes a moment to ascend the top turnbuckle, but he takes his eyes off Christian for a split second, and the ECW Champion grabs the back of his tights and slams Tatsu onto the mat!

We haven’t even started the match and Christian is on his opponent, laying into him with repeated closed fists – two weeks of frustration boiling over because of Curt Hawkins, according to the commentary team, not to mention the fact Tatsu has been a thorn in Christian’s side for months and of course, the Japanese star did defeat Ezekiel Jackson last week.

Eventually, the referee manages to pull Christian off the Japanese star who retreats into the corner, holding the back of his neck. And the referee makes sure he’s good to go (he nods) and then rings the bell.

Match One: Non-Title
Christian versus Yoshi Tatsu

Right away, Christian makes a beeline for the Japanese star but Yoshi ducks and side-steps, hitting the ropes and connecting with a running step-up roundhouse kick which sends Christian down to the mat – he looks out! Yoshi scrambles for the pin … the referee counts … but Christian kicks out in the nick of time!

The match starts to settle in now with Yoshi controlling the opening minute thanks to his quick offense and that’s despite the figure of Ezekiel Jackson lurking on the outside. And Yoshi, despite having suffered before the match started, gives a good show of himself – he has his own motivations, namely the ECW Championship and getting a measure of revenge against the Canadian. But, thanks to a distraction on the outside by Ezekiel Jackson, Christian takes complete control, utilizing a finger poke to the eye. From here, the champion shows his experience as he keeps Yoshi down and off his game for the next minute before setting up for the finish.

But that’s when Yoshi makes the typical WWE face comeback in the dying moments, dodging a number of Christian’s attempted punches and kicks before exploding into offense of his own, including a picture perfect moonsault from the top rope which draws a near-fall. However, this only lasts for a minute as Christian, perfectly legally, gets back into the match by connecting with a standing drop kick as Yoshi jumps off the top rope looking for an axe handle smash. Christian quickly grabs the Japanese star and lands the Killswitch for the victory.

WINNER: Christian @ 7.18

And with that, Christian’s recent winning streak rolls on as he slides out of the ring, allowing the referee to raise his hand at the bottom of the ramp after having being handed the ECW Championship. And the cameras, catch a moment where Ezekiel Jackson glances at the title behind held up in the air before focusing again, walking up towards the stage.

Meanwhile, the camera zooms in on Christian who shakes his head at it, and says, “I’m not afraid of you,” an obvious message to The Martyr of Sin, but is it quite believable? A person nearby in the crowd, with a bucket of popcorn seems to have heard Christian because the fan shouts, “yes, you are!” which draws the attention of the ECW Champion. The Canadian grabs the bucket of popcorn and throws it in the fans face, sending popcorn flying everywhere in the front row.

The commentary team agree that it was uncalled for as Christian backs up the ramp.

Meanwhile, now that’s complete, Striker and Matthews remind us that later tonight, we have a very special edition of The Abraham Washington Show where Mick Foley will be the guest and he has a huge announcement!

COMMERCIAL BREAK​

Back from the break and we’re backstage in a long narrow corridor which has a number of production boxes and cases along the sides. In the middle, talking on the phone is the one and only, Natural Alliance member, Alicia Fox! She appears to be deep in conversation as the feed slowly fades into the conversation, where we can hear her ask, “Do we have a deal? Are we agreed?”

Silence stretches after her call. Then, a slow smile blooms across her face. She nods decisively and utters a warm "thanks," assuring the person on the other end with a hint of intrigue, "You won't regret this." Hanging up, she slides the phone into her front pocket and strides confidently down the hallway. A sharp turn right brings her to a door marked with bold lettering: "The Natural Alliance." She pushes open the door, and the camera pans inside, revealing Dustin Rhodes, sapphire glinting on his ornate cane, and Lacey Von Erich, her gaze fixed on the newly arrived figure.

“Don’t make me wait for an answer,” Dustin says, as he stands up and looks Alicia in the eye. Alicia smiles sweetly and tells Dustin that the deal is in place.

NEW DAY​

And it’s time for the second match of the evening, and out from the back comes the team of Cody Rhodes and tonight’s in-ring competitor, Ted DiBiase. The son of The Million Dollar Man walks down the ramp with Rhodes behind him, jawing with some of the fans before sliding into the ring and waiting on his opponent for tonight.

WORLD’S GREATEST​

And here comes Charlie Haas, accompanied as ever by The Gold Standard, and his tag team partner, Shelton Benjamin. The two have their WWE Unified Tag Team Championships with them and they both hold them up as they walk down the ramp, their eyes fixed on Legacy. Meanwhile, perhaps interestingly, the commentary team make mention of how impressive Charlie Haas has been as of late, specifically his great showing against Shawn Michaels in singles action and Striker believes Haas is the reason that he and Benjamin have those championships in the first place, and they Striker wonders how long an egomaniac like The Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin will cope with that.

Match Two:
Charlie Haas vs. Ted DiBiase

This match doesn’t last too long. In the early going, Charlie Haas takes complete control and shows an impressive amount of skill in his wrestling as Ted DiBiase seems to be struggling enough so that Cody Rhodes is prompted to get involved, sliding into the ring and slamming Haas in the back, bringing forth an early disqualification.

WINNER: Charlie Haas via Disqualification @ 2.16

That’s unfortunate.

Obviously, Shelton Benjamin, seeing what is happening to his tag team partner slides into the ring and comes to his aid which results in both Rhodes and DiBiase double-teaming him until both The World’s Greatest Tag Team members are down and on the mat. The two second-generation Superstars lay into them with tremendous heat from the crowd until…

ARE YOU READY​

Oh shit.

All eyes turn to the stage as the RAW tag team of Triple H and Shawn Michaels, D-Generation X rush down the ramp. The two, as expected, receive a huge ovation. Inside the ring, The World’s Greatest Tag Team retreat into the corner while the two RAW tag teams trade right hands with each other until D-X begin to get the better of the team they have been feuding with for months.

This continues for a good minute until the action spills to the outside, and eventually, into the crowd where D-X and Legacy disappear, battling through the crowd.

And inside the ring, Benjamin and Haas join each other in the centre of the ring… but then two hooded figures jump the barricade, coming from the crowd, they slide into the ring behind the tag team champions and club them in the back before one of them – the tall one, grabs Shelton Benjamin and puts him down with a strong powerbomb!

The other, takes Haas off the ground and puts him over his shoulders and then hits… a Go To Sleep… what?

With Haas lying in a heap and Benjamin not looking much better, all eyes turn to the two men as the camera zooms in and the two take down their hoods and we see that it’s…

CM PUNK AND LUKE GALLOWS

THE STRAIGHT-EDGE SOCIETY

And the crowd come unglued as expected, as the former World Heavyweight Champion and former ECW superstar is back on Tuesday nights with Luke Gallows behind him! While Punk stands over Haas, Luke grabs the title belts from ringside and climbs into the ring with them and the two SmackDown stars hold them in the air.

Meanwhile, in a picture in picture shot, we see the ECW General Manager, Tiffany, looking mightily pissed before turning the television off and storming out of the room with clearly bad intentions as the commentary team mention she might want to speak to Theodore Long and whoever’s in charge of RAW long term because we keep getting these non-ECW people attacking our tag team champions.

COMMERCIAL BREAK​

The roar of the crowd fades as we cut backstage. Dressed for battle, The American Dragon, Bryan Danielson strides purposefully through the corridors. The announce team informs us he's set for a collision with The Moscow Mauler, Vladimir Kozlov. But before Danielson can disappear into the pre-match tunnel, Todd Grisham appears with a barrage of questions. "First, can we address the events of last week with William Regal and Paul Burchill? Do you have any sympathy—"

Danielson halts, a look of pure disgust twisting his face before firmly grasping the interviewer's tie. "Sympathy?" he spits, voice laced with venom. "Never interrupt me before a match."

Then, with a grudging nod, Danielson throws Grisham a bone. "Burchill will get what's coming to him," he growls before heading off for his match.

In the ring, all ready, is The Moscow Mauler, Vladimir Kozlov who paces from side to side, raring to go and after a long moment…

BORN FOR GREATNESS​

And to a rapturous amount of heat, Bryan Danielson walks out onto the ramp and peers at the crowd. He shakes his head at them before heading down the ramp, one step after the other and slides into the ring and the referee calls for the bell.

Main Event:
Bryan Danielson versus Vladimir Kozlov

ECW's hottest new commodity, Bryan Danielson, explodes out of the gate. Quick, fluid offense gives him the early upper hand. But underestimating the Moscow Mauler would be a mistake. Months of ECW brutality have honed Kozlov, and he battles back, briefly seizing control. The American Dragon weathers the storm, though, and regains the advantage. A thunderous running knee to the face connects, and Danielson transitions into the LeBell Lock. To his credit, Kozlov fights valiantly for a full minute before succumbing to the hold.

Winner: Bryan Danielson @ 5.18

And with that, the main event of the night is over, with The American Dragon standing tall, and before we cut to the final commercial, we get a picture in picture shot of The Ripper, Paul Burchill standing backstage with the (unofficial) WWE European Championship which William Regal had bestowed upon him. The commentary team then inform us, that as per ECW GM, Tiffany, next week, Paul Burchill will face Bryan Danielson in The Ripper’s home country of England!

COMMERCIAL BREAK​

And, out next, with the ring set in the typical talk show way, Abraham Washington saunters out, looking rather dapper in a black suit with a pink tie. He waves at the crowd with a grin a mile wide as he heads down the ramp. Before he reaches the ring, he takes the time to shake the hand of a fan, then immediately pulls a small bottle of hand sanitiser out of his back pocket and gives his hands a decent wipe down before heading into the ring.

A new addition to the show, spotlights bathe the set in a garish glow, highlighting Abe as the self-proclaimed host grabs the microphone. With a wink and a cheesy grin, he declares, "Welcome back, ECW, to the most must-see talk show in the history of... well, talk shows!" A beat of awkward silence hangs in the air before he barrels on, oblivious. "Ratings through the roof,
ladies and gentlemen, because when you tune into this show, you're not just watching history, you're watching the most sought after talk show host ever!” He goes on to remind everyone about the hefty fee ECW General Manager Tiffany paid him to agree to have his world-famous talk show here on ECW before switching gears.

A smirk plays on his lips as he leans into the microphone. "It's been a wild few weeks here in ECW, but your fearless leader is back! Fresh off a well-deserved Bahamian cruise, I'm raring to go and we've got a HUGE guest tonight!" He throws his arms wide, voice rising to a crescendo. "The one and only, the Hardcore Legend, the man with one ear and no teeth, bleedin’ gums MICK FOLEY!"

CAR CRASH​

And to a huge pop, the WWE Legend himself, once known to ECW fans as Cactus Jack, comes out onto the stage! He’s in his normal Mick Foley persona tonight but that doesn’t stop the fans from showing him love as they cheer him all the way down the ramp. But what’s this? He seems to be carrying a black velvet bag… in the shape of what appears to be a championship belt.

In the ring, he goes to shake Abraham’s hand, but the talk show host turns his back to huge boos and takes a seat, putting his feet up on the table and ushers Mick into his spot on the couch. “Come on, come on,” Abraham says, “time is money, time is money, now! Tiffany practically begged me to have you on my show tonight, and man, Mick, you’re lookin… well, you’re looking good I guess.”

Mick shakes off the obvious sarcasm picking up the spare microphone and he starts off his portion of the interview with the obvious cheap pop, since it’s good to be right here in… Dallas, Texas. This draws a huge pop which Abe cuts off, telling the fans at ringside to shut up, “Quiet on the set of The Abraham Washington Show!”

This back and forth between Mick and Abe goes on for a little while until Mick gets serious and stands up, which draws a strange look from Abe and he wheels his chair back a little, but The Hardcore Legend faces the crowd and holds the velvet bag, before explaining the ECW General Manager Tiffany asked him to do this announcement, and that announcement is… an 8 man tournament… and the brackets appear on the screen:

And the winner of this tournament, will become the new …

Mick slowly pulls the item out of the bag and reveals a brand-new championship belt…

And he says, this is the brand-new WWE Extreme Heavyweight Championship!

And as the camera zooms in on the silver title belt, similar in design to the ECW Championship but it has a much more chaotic feel to it, the attention turns to the stage as suddenly…

JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES​

For the second time this evening, Christian makes his way onto the ramp with Ezekiel Jackson behind him. The commentary team make sure to mention the fact he is the ECW World Champion, including the term World for the first time on ECW in a long time. However, the crowd show him little respect as he walks down the ramp, and as he slides into the ring, he is greeted by Abraham Washington who extends his hand to the ECW Champion, but the hulking figure of Jackson stares the talk show host down, and perhaps wisely, Abe vacates the ring comedically, leaving Mick Foley in there alone.

Christian asks Mick rhetorically why is he here tonight, since, in actuality, he doesn’t remember authorising any former, washed up, ECW Originals to show up on HIS show. Before Christian can continue, Mick Foley brings his microphone up but then Ezekiel Jackson smacks it out of The Hardcore Legends hand and pushes him down onto the sofa.

“You sit there and listen to this, old man,” Christian says, before turning to the crowd and reminding everyone what he does to former ECW stars, people like Rhyno and Rob Van Dam, and the commentary team do note that he doesn’t mention Tommy Dreamer here. Mick stands up again, grabbing the microphone from the ground and tells Christian that he’s fully aware of what he’s done to various ECW stars over the past few months, and he reiterates that he is not here as Cactus Jack, but as Mick Foley, and he is only here to announce the new WWE Extreme Heavyweight Championship.

Christian takes one look at the belt and doesn’t acknowledge it before nodding at Ezekiel Jackson, who grabs Foley by the back, pulling his arms above his head while Christian grabs a clump of his hair and gets in The Hardcore Legend’s face. The Canadian drops his own title on the ground and microphone and closes his free fist but then down the ramp comes the ECW General Manager Tiffany, who climbs on the apron, points at the World Champion and tells him in no uncertain terms to not even think about doing what it looks like he’s about to do.

But then, Christian ignores her, and LASHES a closed right hand fist across Foley’s face, and he does this repeatedly while Jackson holds on to Mick. Meanwhile, Tiffany is calling for help from the back and outcomes a bunch of security guards who rush down the ramp, but Christian tells Ezekiel to head them off, and he becomes a huge barrier for them, blocking the bottom of the ramp.

The champion reigns supreme, a battered Mick Foley laid out at his feet. Hunger for cruelty unsatisfied, he grabs two steel chairs, one placed ominously beneath Foley's head. Raising the other high, he savors the moment.

But a ripple of cheers erupts. Sliding into the ring, a phantom from the crowd, The Martyr of Sin, Curt Hawkins, materializes behind the ECW Champion. Clad in black, he effortlessly snatches the chair from Christian's grasp. The Canadian whirls around, fury contorting his face, to find himself eye-to-eye with his nemesis.

Instead of violence, Hawkins stands resolute, chair a dark extension of his arm. He reaches into his jacket, not for another weapon, but for a playing card. It bears Christian's image, a mocking caricature. Hawkins holds it up, a chilling smile appearing on his lips. The champion, utterly disarmed by this psychological moment, scrambles out of the ring and retreats up the ramp. Curt Hawkins watches him go, then tears the card in half and it’s then we see on the other side is an image of Ezekiel Jackson, ECW GM Tiffany rushes to Foley's side.

Silence envelopes the arena as Christian backs away, leaving Hawkins standing on his own, the two staring at each other, and Matt Striker chimes in wondering if this is yet more mind games from one of the most dangerous men in all of the WWE.

 

[Stojy]

Solid in ring action with Christian going over Tatsu here. The champ had to win this one. I think I’ve told you a million times how much I love the Hawkins character, so really digging that he’s now turned his attention towards Christian. Ezekiel wanting his own shot at the title and Christian holding him at bay has been interesting to follow. Loving everything you’re doing with Christian at the moment.

Not really sure what deal Alicia Fox was making but at least has me intrigued. Again, the character work for Rhodes has been sensational, and love ‘The Natural Alliance’ group that you’ve built.

Tag team scene has been built around the three teams for awhile now, and whilst that business still feels unfinished, Punk and Gallows getting involved here is an awesome shock moment, but also a nice way to keep things in this tag feud feel fresh. No complaints from me.

Think the debut of Danielson and the twist of him turning the heel the way he did with the attack on Regal was nice. Enjoying seeing more and more of his attitude but again, he always winning this over Kozlov. Expect him to beat Burchill as well, although being in London, Regal might be around.

I’m torn on the final segment, tbh. Not sure the roster in ECW warrants for a mid card title. Foley coming to announce it is a nice moment, but yeah, not quite hitting for me. Christian coming out and having words with Foley was good though, capped off with the appearance by Hawkins. Good stuff.

I honestly think people sleep on this BTB. Very, VERY good stuff.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown | 16th October 2009​

And upon our return to SmackDown, we appear to be backstage where interviewer, Todd Grisham is waiting with a microphone and after his cue, he welcomes in the leader of The Straight Edge Society, CM Punk and his disciple, formerly known as Festus—Luke Gallows.

After the customary question of why they attacked the current WWE Unified Tag Team Champions, CM Punk starts with, “You know, ever since losing my World Heavyweight Championship to The Undertaker, I’ve realised how much of a problem the unwashed masses are here in the WWE.” He goes onto explain how he and Luke Gallows are better than everyone else because of their Straight-Edge philosophy and the first step in showcasing that to the world is by becoming the tag team champions. “Did we have permission to invade ECW and attack Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas? We don’t need permission. Consider it a challenge to them—we want those championships, and we issue a challenge to them, for a match, at Hell In A Cell.”

But almost immediately, the two are blindsided by an unknown assailant. However, after a moment, it becomes clear it’s the CURRENT Tag Team Champions, as ECW’s Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, The World’s Greatest Tag Team stand over Punk and Gallows, and contrary to them, the ECW team don’t continue the attack, instead Haas bends down and holds one of the titles in front of them and says, “You’re not the only ones that can show up when you’re not invited,” and before the duo leave, Haas confirms they accept their challenge.

Later in the night…

We fade into the SmackDown General Managers office, where Theodore Long is speaking with the ECW General Manager, Tiffany, and its clear from their body language—especially with the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions behind her—that the conversation isn’t a pleasant one. Teddy starts by saying that while he wants to keep their relationship professional and cordial, he is disappointed with the fact that The World’s Greatest Tag Team showed up here without authorisation—to which Tiffany cuts him off immediately, clearly taking no shit here tonight.

“Teddy, with all due respect, I am sick and tired of RAW and SmackDown Superstars coming onto my show uninvited. Contrary to CM Punk and Luke Gallows, my guys don’t need authorisation since they are the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions.” She goes onto explain how D-Generation X and Legacy have been a thorn in her brands side for weeks now, and she hopes CM Punk and Luke Gallows can stay where they belong. She ends by not letting the SmackDown GM reply, and finishes off by saying, “because it happens again, I will let my tag team champions do a lot more than they did here tonight, if you feel me, playa.”

And with that, and a shell-shocked Theodore Long watching on, Tiffany and the tag team champions leave the room, the camera following them into the corridor and after the door slam shuts she turns to Haas and Benjamin and says, “You and I sent a message here tonight to The Straight-Edge Society. ECW is not playing around. This Monday, I want you both to do the same on RAW, got me?” The World’s Greatest Tag Team glance at each other and nod, before the group leave the camera shot.

WWE Monday Night RAW | 19th October 2009​

Before the first match of the evening kicks off—which is due to be a singles contest between Triple H and Ted DiBiase—the guest host for this week, Snoop Dog tells the crowd he wanted to do something big, something that affects all of WWE, and because of that D-Generation X and Legacy will be added to the WWE Unified Tag Team Championship match at Hell in a Cell, and it will be an elimination style four way tag team match! And then he goes onto be the in-ring announcer for the first match of the evening.

Singles Contest
Triple H def. Ted DiBiase
~ No description because, after all, this is an ECW based BTB.

However, after the contest, Cody Rhodes rushes the ring, landing on top of The Game and clubbing him on the back until The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels joins the action, sliding into the ring and the two D-Generation members fight Legacy off and send Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase stumbling back up the ramp.

Only for the two to back into the current WWE Unified Tag Team Champions, The World’s Greatest Tag Team! As D-Generation X watch from the ring, the champions send their second message in a matter of days, with Benjamin launching Ted DiBiase head first into LED screen at the bottom of the titantron. And, with perhaps a smattering or revenge after Rhodes attacked him from behind, Charlie Haas absolutely plants Rhodes with a T-Bone Suplex on the ramp!

And with that, the ECW tag team turn to the ring, where Triple H and Shawn Michaels are watching, and the ECW team hold up their WWE Unified Tag Team Titles as the commentary team send the RAW show to commercial.

ECW on SyFy | 20th October 2009 | Preview​

This week’s episode of ECW comes to you from London, England, where in the main event, hometown hero, Paul Burchill will face off against Bryan Danielson in the first match of the WWE Extreme Heavyweight Championship tournament. Only a handful of weeks have passed since The American Dragon announced his arrival on ECW, standing up from the crowd and entering the ring, before a week later, assaulting his mentor and friend, William Regal, putting him on the injured list – and it’s up to The Ripper to gain a measure of revenge here tonight.

Elsewhere, the ECW Champion, Christian, continued his rage against anything original ECW related by attacking The Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley last week, only to be stopped by Curt Hawkins. Tonight, we will hear from the man himself, as The Martyr of Sin has a very special message for not only the ECW Champion, but also The Personification of Domination, Ezekiel Jackson.

In recent weeks, we have seen a transformation in a certain Dustin Rhodes. The man formerly known as Goldust, having created an alliance with Alicia Fox and Lacey Von Erich, will meet with ECW play-by-play announcer, Josh Matthews in a special sit-down interview where tough questions and even tougher answers will play-out. Might we find out about the deal Alicia Fox happened to be making last week?

As ever, expect appearances from your favourite ECW stars such as The World’s Greatest Tag Team, the ECW Champion, Christian and Ezekiel Jackson.
