We always like to talk about who draws and who doesn't, and there are a few measures we can look at. Merchandise moved, tickets sold, PPV buys, crowd reactions and more. What I've accumulated is who has main evented the most PPVs in the past 12 months. Obviously this doesn't mean so and so is really over and a huge draw, but it can show how much trust/faith the promotion has in said performer.

To clear it up immediately, as far as the royal rumble goes, I've not counted that show as the match is the draw itself, not the 30/40 people in it. This is solely for WWE and TNA, since ROH doesn't do enough shows to compete.

2012
John Cena - 9
Bobby Roode - 9
Jeff Hardy - 6
CM Punk - 4
Austin Aries - 4

For comparisons sake, the last two years figures:

2011
John Cena 10
CM Punk 6
The Miz 5
Sting 4
Kurt Angle 4
Bobby Roode 4
Alberto Del Rio 3
Mr. Anderson 3
AJ Styles 3

2010
John Cena 7
Wade Barrett 5
Jeff Hardy 5
Rob Van Dam 5
Randy Orton 4
Mr. Anderson 4
The Undertaker 3
AJ Styles 3
Sheamus 3
Edge 3
Chris Jericho 3
Abyss 3

Some random points to consider;

- I've been doing this list for a few years now and only list those who've main evented 3 PPV's or more. This year is by far the smallest field, less than half the size of 2009, and the second year running the list has decreased.

- CM Punk main evented less PPV's in 2012 than in 2011 despite being WWE Champion all 12 months.

- This is the first time Kurt Angle & AJ Styles have been absent from the list

- Cena has now topped the list 3 years straight. He's also the only wrestler on this years list not to win his respective company's top title.

Any thoughts on what you see?

Considering Aries wasn't on the 2011 list, 2012 has been a big year for him. I like him main evening Pay Per Views, I'm also happy to see Bobby Roode has Main Evented so many PPV's.
