Ortiz out with torn pec

Ortiz is dealing with a torn pec.

The 32-year-old hasn't wrestled since January 20 when he teamed with Eddie Kingston in a loss to Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli on AEW Collision.

He revealed on Isiah Kassidy's vlog over the weekend that he's about to get surgery.

"I'm injured, man," Ortiz said. "I'm about to get surgery in two weeks."

"It was just from a clothesline. I tore my pec from a clothesline," he continued.

"Two weeks, four months recovery time, and then I'll be back more jacked with a mullet and a mustache."

Ortiz and Kassidy were later shown working on commentary for Ethan Page's Alpha-1 Wrestling promotion in Hamilton, ON, Canada. Ortiz would also work as a guest referee later in the show.

Don't worry. Next step is for him to be healed up, win Royal Rampage, and main event All In so he can finish the story.

Either way, get well soon, Ortiz and I hope when he returns, he can find something to sink into whether it is in AEW or ROH.

One has to wonder how Santana and Ortiz would have fared if they went to WWE instead of AEW. Would they still be a tag team today? How many times would they have won the tag belts? Would they be healthier than they were in AEW? I dont use the term much but both of those guys are 2 examples of being "fumbled" by the company. They should have been tag champs over teams like Jurassic Express.
