The Redemption theme for NXT season 5 was not the original theme the company was going to go with. WWE cameras filmed interviews with a number of developmental talents over the last several weeks for introductory packages, but the decision was made to hold off with that and go with the Redemption theme. The feeling internally was that Season 5 was going to be overlooked due to the debut of Tough Enough. Since Tough Enough is the higher priority, they did not want to compete with themselves as they looked to build new personalities.

The original names for season 5 could be used for season 6, but that could change as they move forward with planning.

Here is a thought then don't have a season 5 of NXT at all during tough enough? It's pretty much a waste to do a redemption deal with pros who don't make sense.

They have a TV deal for NXT in every other market outside the U.S which is why they keep cranking the seasons out

Plus they get to test their web popularity in the U.S., to see if people are watching this season they're admittedly putting no effort into.

Makes sense but in that case they need to at least put in some kind effort in the show and also not bury it in the process.

I still wish NXT came on in the late night Superstars slot. WWE's VOD site glitches too much for my liking to the point I have to wait for them to post it Thursdays on hulu

I watched it on youtube until last week. I'm gonna start downloading it now because the quality I found last weeks NXT was out of this world.
