Mick Foley launching "Foley is Pod" podcast

Mick Foley is launching a new podcast with Conrad Thompson next week.

It was announced via Sports Illustrated today that "Foley is Pod" will launch with its first episode premiering on Friday, June 3. The show is being hosted by Foley and Thompson and will focus on the Hardcore Legend's career.

The podcast is part of the Podcast Heat network.

“I know the way I feel when I hear a good podcast, how it can turn a whole day around and put a smile on my face,” Foley told Sports Illustrated. “I’m looking forward to telling stories and reminding people of a time they really enjoyed when they were big wrestling fans.”

“Mick is just so passionate about pro wrestling. And look at his career. He proved he could do it all -- whether that was as a heel, the ultimate babyface, or a comedic character. He did it all so incredibly well," Thompson said.

"And I’m really interested about Mick’s thought process. His books were so good, and so are his one-man shows. I really believe that this show, which we’re recording in-person and in 4K, is going to be exactly what the wrestling world is looking for."

A Foley is Pod live show is taking place at Starrcast V this July.

Foley first announced on March 14 that Foley is Pod would be coming soon.

Foley was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 2000 and the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

He will literally get bored and overwhelmed after like a month and pawn the show off to someone else who will do a way better job and also won’t laugh every 2 seconds.

He gave up the Angle one after like 2 months cause Angle’s ego is so huge bro insisted on doing the intro and most of the ads which are extremely awkward. I hate Conrad but he should definitely be doing those.

I love DDP and Jake but the show is boring as fuck. And strokefest is right apparently DDP is on some shitty superhero show on Netflix and Conrad was like “IT’S THE SHOW EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT”. I literally have yet to hear about it outside of their show.

I’ll give this a listen, it’ll be my Friday podcast when Bruce couldn’t record that week and STW is one of best of mega episodes. I do love Mick, so it’ll be fun to hear him tell some stories.

The only Conrad shows I like these days are What Happened When and Something to Wrestle. Grilling JR isn’t bad either I’ll listen to that if I’m bored.
