Beck will release his first single on Jack White's Third Man Records label on May 28th. The 7-inch – "I Just Started Hating Some People Today" on the A side and "Blue Randy" on the flip – will be released as a stand-alone, one-off single. Both cuts were recorded last year at White's studio in Nashville while Beck was in town working on his forthcoming album.

As can be expected from a Third Man release, there will be a few very limited runs of colored vinyl editions of the single. A run of 100 tri-color versions of the 7-inch will be sold exclusively at Randy's Records in Salt Lake City on June 2nd, and another color pressing will be randomly inserted in mail order copies ordered from Third Man. A digital version of the single will be on sale in the iTunes store.

There is no word yet on when Beck's next album, his first full-length since Modern Guilt in 2008, will come out. The singer played his first concert of 2012 last night at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles but did not perform any new material, opting instead to emphasize on old favorites, mainly from Odelay and Sea Change.
