Arrest warrant issued for Nate Diaz for brawl in New Orleans

New Orleans police have issued an arrest warrant for former UFC star Nate Diaz following an incident over the weekend captured on social media.

Diaz is under suspicion of second degree battery, but is not in custody as of this writing. He has not made a statement as of now.

In the video, Diaz appears to choke out Rodney Peterson, a Logan Paul lookalike, as part of a Saturday night brawl at 2:10 AM on Bourbon Street. Diaz was in town to corner a boxer for an event where he also got into an altercation earlier in the evening.

Police issued the warrant after seeing additional videos of the incident. Peterson suffered a gash on his head after falling on the ground after being choked out. Peterson, a Paul impersonator, has one pro boxing fight on his record and has competed in amateur MMA several times.

Diaz will fight Jake Paul in August in Diaz's boxing debut. He became a free agent last fall after the final fight on his UFC contract.

I think Nate might be able to get out of this one. Dude was apparently borderline stalking Nate and goading him into the fight so Nate's arguing self defense and the lookalike is technically a "trained fighter" Nate's lawyer is arguing bc of the boxing stuff which I think is another plus for Nate to get off, at least light if he gets any punishment at all
