According to a press release from Bellator Fighting Championships, 1996 Olympic bronze medalist and two-time world champion wrestler Alexis Vila has signed with the promotion to participate in the season five bantamweight tournament:

"Bellator’s Season 5 Bantamweight Tournament is starting to take shape as wrestling Olympian turned professional knockout artist Alexis "The Exorcist" Vila has been added to the eight man tournament starting in September. Vila will join fellow bantamweights Eduardo Dantas, Chase Beebe, Marcos Galvao, Luis Nogueira, Ed "Wild" West, and Bellator Featherweight World Champion Joe Warren, who will be dropping down to bantamweight, as confirmed participants in the upcoming tournament."

Vila is undefeated with nine wins, his last five coming by way of knockout or technical knockout. He hasn't fought any notable fighters, and his age (40 years old) could discourage fans in believing he can win the tournament. His inclusion, however, makes the Bellator season five bantamweight tournament one of the best tournament set-ups we've in a long time.
