Seems a solid lineup with some good indie fare there also. Have yet to see many of the films, but most of them at least peak my interest.

Prediction wise I say...

Best Motion Picture - Argo

Actress - Marion Cotillard (so she should, she is flipping world class and amazing in R&B!)

Actor - Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln) He is always great, personally I would love to see Phoenix win for the Master.

Best Comedy or musical - Silver Linings Playbook

Best Animated Feature - Brave (no Paranorman is a fucking disgrace!)

Best Director Spielberg (is a toss up between him and QT, with Lee as a dark horse).

Wow I have not seen any movie nominated in any category except Moonrise Kingdom. Oscar type movies never really catch my attention. I used to make it a point to see every movie nominated for best picture but I stopped after King's Speech. They're good movies but not the kind I'd like to watch again. Out of this list the only ones I know I will see are Wreck it Ralph, Hitchcock and Django. Maybe Argo and Life of Pi.

Tarantino is my favorite director but I have to say I'm quite surprised his spaghetti western is up for Best Picture. I thought it would be more Kill Bill as opossed to Inglorious Basterds. I do expect Ang Lee to win best director though.

The only films on here that I've seen are Argo and Wreck-It Ralph. I plan on seeing Lincoln and Life of Pi soon, and I'll watch Les Miserables when it comes out. I'll probably see Django, but I just don't have high expectations for that one really.

Very predictable list, once again they have gone with the theory that anything that makes huge money can't be any good. Good year for Ben Afleck who continues to work his way out of Matt Damon's shadow. Not quite sure how Les Miserables was even nominated since it hasn't been released yet, not saying it doesn't deserve it just odd that it has already been nominated.

Lincoln

They are my predictions based on how I think they will vote. Lincoln is going to sweep the awards season, the majority of voters are American and because of the topic and who is involved it is going to win a lot of awards. Daniel Day Lewis for Lincoln is the easiest to predict and Les Miserables is a clear winner as well in my opinion

Actually the likes of Argo and Silver Linings have made some pretty good money and you would expect films such as
Lincoln and Les Mesable will draw well. Also varity would not be frawned at, Rust and Bone for example is one of the
films of the year.

Argo was incredible. The attention to detail was just insane. Deserves the Oscar too, but it will probably go to some faggoty, artsy bullshit like Anna Karenina or whatever movie has a homosexual, mentally challenged, or obscure artist as the title character.

But Argo is more of a Art House film than Anna Karenina, it just happens to be one which has caught on with people.
