The fact is not even WWE actually believe New Day broke their record. I don't foresee WWE going onto their website tomorrow and merging the 1979 and 2002 belts back...

    They could, but they don't. They choose to only keep the 2002 belt lineage. The original belt ends in 2010. I thought it was dumb in 2010 to retire the original belt and it makes even less sense now.

    At least Nikki Bella ACTUALLY beat her record. New Day have held on to these belts far longer than they needed to break a record that'll still say Demolition on the WWE website.
