    Because to me he's not scary in any way. I'd say the same thing about care bears, but that doesn't mean someone somewhere isn't afraid of the care bears.

    I don't try to analyze why people like something. I find that patronizing af. I think critically it's possible, but I think fans actually like his performance.

    And your opinion isn't a fact either, Jeff, so ok, here were are not agreeing. Have a nice day now. Sheesh. People are so obsessed with the Joker they can't take any disagreements about this dude. What till you hear that I think Ledger's performance wasn't great, either. You'll lose your lid.

    Not in the way it was presented. He literally shot people with comical guns or made them die with a goofy smile on their faces in 89. In Nolan's he made a pencil disappear in a dude's eye. Joker was designed to be a crazy joker for lack of a better word, but not scary.

    I would say to the Burton Batman comments, though, that Returns does come awfully close to gothic horror. Throw Max Shreck in and I'd be game.

    If we're comparing the characters, Sid's definitely more designed to frighten in my opinion. The shit he does to the toys is crazy.

    I think the way Sid tortures the dolls and toys and the creepy giggles is more scary than Joker, personally. Plus, the "creations" he made.
