I doubt Sony would ever let Spidey go. They have a shit ton of projects in development right now.
Also, the films with Holland are continuing. Just without MCU input and without him being in future MCU films.
Sony wants co-financing credit and Marvel doesn't want to share it.
Sony owns the rights and has the power to end the relationship. Which I guess they are doing.
