I could be totally off the mark here, but I believe it maybe finacial. Redknapp knows that to take Spurs to the next level they will need to reinvest and having already spent quite a lot under him I don't they would be willing to give him much more. It is a shame he has done a fantastic job...

Well that pleases me as a Villa fan as it means their interesti in Given should end.

I think Utd need to focus more on midfeld than up front, they are missing that great play maker which could make them great again. Moderic would be a good buy, but they are restricted money wise and I think Spurs might be asking too much for them.

Think Hughton is a solid choice for Norwich. He won't try and change too much at least not at first will add one or two of his own players but will mostly work well with what did them well last season. Seems a good man to man manager too.

Its a bit of a desprate appointment if it does happen. Sounds like West Brom are struggling for better options. Fair dues he has been a great number two and deserves his shot, but to go straight into a premier League job first time around might be a bit much.

Bloody hell this is the most posts my club have every recieved in this thread. I expect normal serivice to be resummed soon however lol. I would take Holt considering we have just lost Heskey, Bent's fitness is hit and miss and Gabby has gone totally off the boil. Also our squad is very...

Thing is he was on a rolling contract so I think he was within his right. The way I understand is they declined his resignation, but that was them being wishful. The only thing is they seem to think that there maybe something illigal about the way he left and accepted our offer, but by the...

You could turn that lack of ambition comment around and say that it shows how much loyality he has to Wigan. I think it might be a mistake in the long run, but you have to give the guy credit for it. Also Liverpool has become a bit of poison chalice for some managers it might not be worth the...

But is Liverpool a top job anymore? Huge step up no doubt, but whose to say he doesn't have what it takes and in their position they might struggle to get much better.

    1. The point you are missing about Wigan Dale is that given their setup, lack of resources and the fact they are selling club the chances are they are always going to be near the bottom and fighting the drop, and this season they looked even more certain to go down than ever before. So the...

I can see why Holt would want a move at his age and with the season he just has he does not want to miss the chance of playing for a bigger club. Then again often the grass is not always greener on the other side and likes of Kevin Philips have proven than if you stay fit and play more with...

Yeah because bringing back a former manager really worked out for you last time lol. Randy Lerner certainly has a strange recruiting policy when it comes to managers. Taking a gamble on Solskjaer smarks of what West Ham attempted when they hailed Zola. Acording to reports he is likely to...

Think that might be too big a offer for him to turn down. He has gone as far as he can at Wigan.

Lambert or Matentiz would be my choice for Villa, both young forward thinking managers who would have long term plans. The Football would be good and the expension of the promising youngsters would countine also both can produce on tight bridgets which is what we have.

I think the main factor was that they spent so much and got so little return. Liverpool have been on the slide since Rafa's last season and with the likes of Spurs steping up, it was a bit unrealistic to expect Champions League Football to be secured in his first full season. I understand the...

Fantastic finish! I thought City would win it, but didn't expect them to do it in such dramatic fashion, also when it was 2-1 Rangers and going into added on time I couldn't see anyway back for them. Still as someone said they are deserved champions. Good result Arsenal getting third after...

Yeah, but the CL qualifer is no big challenge for a side like Arsenal it is just a bit of an incovenice, but you need to nail third just because you don't know what will happen in Munich. Predictions for the final day: West Brom 1-2 Arsenal (RVP to nick it) Norwich 1-1 Villa Chelsea 4-2...

Or it just be more easy for your team if Spurs and Newcastle mess up then it doesn't matter what the outcome of CL final is. Can't see Spurs losing at home to Fulham, but the magpies maybe struggle against Everton. It is still in Arsenal's hands, if they win third is theirs.
  19. Keith

Yeah I think they might lose in Munich also, but we will see.

Think about the Chelsea thing is that if they win the CL final no one will be complaining about those changes. Also you have to say it was still a long shot them making top four even if they had beat Liverpool, they would be relying on three teams to slip up. I can understand why he did it.
