I think a key factor to consider is that everything Kenny Omega does is a super fucking slow burn. He'll hint at some shit once and not follow up on it for three years. :lol That's just how he operates. So no one should have expected him to just come in guns blazing on night one imo.
Realistically though there's no chance this is the last bit of cross promoting because Impact's goddamn EVP Don Callis is going to at least be on AEW for the foreseeable future. And I just don't think it's like AEW to start something like this, KNOWING what fans' expectations are going to be...
I don't put it past Impact to do it... but why would you even include those segments of Tommy talking to Scott, and Rich getting big leagued, and then there's no follow up and they're just like... well, that happened, moving on...
